enjoyed ur video would be awesome if you can put brand name gear/equipment in ur description next camping trip. just started camping and looking to get some gear ideas.
Thank you so much for sharing your camping experience! I’m fascinated to learn about camping in the northern parts of this beautiful state! Even though I have lived here all my life!!! 😂 my family loves camping!
I'm glad you enjoyed watching it! It's weird but the furthest south side of California I have camped at is probably Pismo Beach! I am actually trying to find more spots closer to SoCal so I don't have to drive so far LOL
The brand was by ALL-TOP and I bought it off Amazon. The specific size I bought was the 6.6'x8.2'. You can find it if you search for ALL-Top Vehicle Awning
Really good video! The only complaint is that the music you play over the video is very loud and I would have personally preferred to hear the sounds of you setting up the camp with the sounds of rain. I loved the sounds of rain when you were cooking and eating! You are very personable and I will definitely watch your videos again!
Thanks! I think the issue was that the gopro didn't pick up sound well. I reduced the music by 10-15db and tried to amplify the audio. I actually bought a wireless mic to resolve this issue next time. I'm still trying to figure out the best audio setting so feedback like this is appreciated!
Not this time. I do have a electric cooler but since it was only two nights I made sure have enough ice! I just made sure to keep the bag of ice on top and everything stayed really cool. The veggies I precut at home and kept it in Tupperware so the ice doesn't damage the veggies. Also big sur area was very cool so it didn't warrant a fridge but if I'm camping somewhere very warm I'd take my electric cooler
My family camped in Quaking Aspen Campground 6 out of 7 summers from 1959 to 1965 (our last year). Those are the most favorite memories of my youth and early teenage years. It was a rugged mountain paradise back then, and at the end of the road for the first 2 or 3 times we camped there. We fished for trout in Upper Peppermint Creek 3 or so miles up a very bad dirt the road. Thank you for posting this.
Big Sur section of Pacific Coast Highway is so ragged and beautiful. I was riding Big Sur on my bike tour last month. Next time I'm there I wanna hike and camp. Beautiful video, thanks for sharing 👍
Thanks for the compliments! yes I drove by Big Sur before, and this camping trip was awesome. I think next time I want to try and take my kayak out there!
As I understand it, you are allowed to. However, laws and policies regarding drones are changing almost daily and each day there are more restrictions being placed on drones. A lot of places that were allowed are not anymore. However, I did find this on the FAQ for LA county parks site: The Department’s policy on drones is the same as the County’s policy on traditional powered model vehicles - e.g. model airplanes and helicopters - referenced in County Code sections 17.04.630, 17.12.425, and 12.08.290. There are, however, two designated locations to fly drones located at Santa Fe Dam State Recreation Area and Whittier Narrows Community Regional Park. Please call the parks for more information: Santa Fe Dam: 626.334.1065 Whittier Narrows: 626.575.5526 No Fly Zone maps do not show all restrictions and it is always best to check the website of the location you want to fly your drone to see if they have any bans. Some cities may have a city wide restriction as well. Unfortunately? They are making it more and more impossible to fly a drone anywhere. But I'm glad they at least try to create some designated spots.
That's a great idea thank you. Originally it was meant to show friends and family my camping trip in a format better than a slideshow. But I've been getting more and more people watching this video and I feel I need to make these videos more enjoyable for others too. I think narration is a great idea
This was flown inside the national forest not sequoia national park. There is a difference. National forest has no restrictions for drones while national parks do. Before shaming people for doing something legal, please get the facts straight.
@@oomashimaruoo Actually, US national forests DO have restrictions for drones. In particular, you can not fly one "over or in close proximity to populated and noise-sensitive areas." I would consider an interpretative trail (Trail of 100 Giants), and a campground just across the highway from it "populated areas." Same with dome rock. Check out the US forest service webpage on drone usage.
@@michaeldeal4846 Hi Michael, yes, and at the Trail of 100 Giants there was a ranger there who saw the drone and did not say I cannot fly my drone. I do agree with the campground and I tried to stay far enough away from any people, but my campsite was literally right across from the campsite manager and was not told to stop. He was cool with it.
It is a stupid rule, you can fly a fu$%6n airplane and helicopter over National Park but not a drone? really? sometimes you just go with common sense even when there's none. Its ok to burn a fire and pollute the forest? but ooo do not fly a piece of plastic of rotating plastic blades, because people 300 years ago thought the earth was flat! they should ban camp fires!
@@marioinfante807 you may want to check on recent updates to laws regarding flying drones as I flew out here last year. But there are a lot of areas along the highway where you can pull over and fly. It was fun flying here but beware there are hidden electrical wires. If you find the right spot to take off it may not be an issue.
