Hi Racely, Nightwish has a lot of good songs but (in my opinion) you picked in your first reaction on Nightwish one of the best ones. It can probably only be surpassed by the ending of Shoemaker (Hellfest).
I mean the purpose of this video was to promote the new way they had started to play the song live, possibly showcasing the drummer. This since the album version is much more boring and they were proud of what they had achieved. So they recorded and did studio things (reverb / doubling on some pieces of the audio) because they didn’t think they needed to preserve the chain of custody. So yea, EQd, doubled - but beyond normal sound production, not any trickery. There are live clips from festivals where you can get unproduced audio. Now it’s used forensically by people to see if Tati is singing.
This song wasn't supposed to end the show, which is why it felt so abrupt, but since they had to start a bit later than planned due to tech issues it ended up like this. But even with the crossfeed issues on their monitors and this being the end of the show with her clearly out of breath, they delivered this masterful performance. That's a level of quality in a band that's rare.
Never heard this band before 2 weeks ago , saw them first on here since then ive bought the CD of this concert a 15 song set . Seen 40 plus reactions . Simply put this is the best song ive heard live and im 60 and followed music seriously since 1975 . My previous best was Led Zep Stairway to Heaven, madison square garden . Floor is the best female singer ive EVER heard live
