In 1987 my Bucks County Pennsylvania probation officer advised me I wasn't prohibited from owning a gun for several nonviolent offenses in 1985. He was voicing Pennsylvania laws however the Gun Control Act still applied and I was arrested by ATF in 1989 when one of the gun shops fell under investigation and the 4473s were reviewed for compliance. They didn't want to hear what the probation officer told me and I was convicted in federal court in 1991 and given 5 years on paper, which I completed in 1996. I was told, quite harshly, that I could never own a gun again, and had little to no chance for any kind of pardon or relief from disability. Hopefully now that will change .
My pistol permit, was revoked but a year later my records was expunged! This happened about 25 years later! I have no criminal records on file but my question is, if, Ire apply for a gun permit, would the revocation show up or not! Do i have, to put down on the permit certificate, why was I denied or leave it blank, or don’t put anything due, to my record expunged and the statute of limitations has passed? 🤔🤔🤔
@@manuelpagan6857 what’s state are you in? Ohio is revisiting the conflict between the CCW law and felons relief of disability but that bill is still in the house I have a CCW myself. Ultimately it depends on your state’s laws I’d have to look into that part if I find the time.
I argue this about my buddie all the time. He got into trouble when he was younger. He went to prison, paid his debt, and did his time. Now he has a house with a family a good career, but he can't protect what he worked so hard to get. It's ridiculous if you think about how he is considered less of a citizen than me because he was a dumb kid.
@@BobbyCoakachee In Florida you need clemency. That law in Ohio is 2923.14. Ultimately the felon with firearms statute is unconstitutional. I’ve made other videos about how felons have sued the government to get their rights restored as well.
How’d you get out the mud I been a felon for 6 yrs went to culinary school had a million jobs can’t find any job or career that I’m eligible for that’ll pay me more than 22 an hr or so and I can’t pay off any fines with that small amount. 6 yrs and I’ve gotten absolutely nowhere except more credit card debt from paying bills I didn’t have real money for. Shits a fuckin joke/
@@Doitalljer I manage 2 water plants (I work 2 jobs currently). Got licensed didn’t need school just studied and passed a state test. Worked up from the bottom. I knew other felon who went into this career field and were successful that’s why I did it. I didn’t have any skills didn’t know anyone that worked where I worked but I doing okay.
@@mattdizick9015 a lot of people think you can’t, but it is definitely possible. I’ve got some information about it posted on my channel. Good luck. Let me know if you got any questions.
Man im in ky... my felony is from failing a urine test while in jail.. charged with promoting contraband for having drugs in my system while being in jail. Only felony.. cant own a firearm. Ive tried to call the judges they wont speak to me.. called the prosocuter they wont speak with me... in ky promoting contraband is not on the "list" of expungable offenses lol.. idk what to do..
You don't call the judges You have to file a motion in court. In Ohio it's a motion for relief from firearms disability. You have to fill out the motion and tell them all the reasons why you feel that you've been rehabilitated and should have the right to practice your second amendment right and defend yourself and your family and all the reasons why they should believe that you're not going to offend again. The fact is you don't have a violent felony so they should give them to you easily. Check with your local laws... or move to Ohio
Tell me how because my girl has had one felony where she was in a car when a man broke into a house and stole a TV she can’t own guns 25 years later now which is bullshit how can she do it? They said it was aggravated so they really fucked her. Nobody was even in the house, but it was at night.
@@anthonyhawkins9896 okay Anthony thanks for replying what will be my steps in getting my rights to the storage here in Missouri do you know? I got one count domestic 2nd degree felony and one unlawful use of a weapon those are my only convictions and ive only been charged one time for each if that makes since please help
This has lately become an interesting topic and I’m definitely interested in having my rights restored! I have NO violent charges, I have no assault or any type of charge that would make me any special case in where I shouldn’t be allowed my rights to be restored. I’ve just heard that you either do it yourself and that’s a lot of studying, or you hire an attorney which is expensive. But what cost would you be willing to pay to be a legal gun owner again? Me? As much as I possibly can.
This was a well prepared video and very understanding of our constitutional rights as citizens i myself is a non violent felon took a plea decades ago and still have my 2nd amendment right strip away because of a simple plea i never been to prison no murder charges or sex offender charges examples of real hard felons and regardless of the law a real felon will possess and still carry a firearm to harm his next victim and carry out more crimes and law abidiing felons are not allowed to carry a firearm for self defense 😮
I have already started the process & have a letter for the new republican governor as well. A 3 fold presentation is a game changer + the walls of ignorance....
I believe everyone in America has the right to bear arms that's why we have other laws so if you break one of them you can be charged but as long as you're defending yourself hunting sporting etc you should be able to Bear arms
