As an American that wall guy seems to have some great points. It’s a shame he was silenced by the Canadian elites. So sad 😢 Sending international support to those standing behind the wall #big wall #wall
Not a fan of Jette Knox. It's all a charade to this person if said person wasn't surrounded in this environment, they wouldn't be claiming to be trans now.
I am making a project using Power Point and one of main goals is to make it Accessible For As Much People As Possible, and this video gave me good start in going into making this project accessible for disabled people, big thank you!
I think it’s amazing how our civilization is evolving in terms of tolerance, acceptance, and compassion. I believe that despite whatever choices you make in life, the most sacred and important thing we ought to do as true humans is to respect each other and never be afraid to show your light, who you truly are. On one hand, we can see that traditional values are always being retroactively renewed through generations, and that is an important aspect mainly for Indigenous communities because it is the main axis that maintains one's cultures and ways of life, saving their original identity and uniqueness. Moreover, that can be an impediment to true progress because if traditional values are segregating and making people’s lives miserable, they must be questioned and/or improved. However, through your example, we can see that these traditional values mean nothing if they don’t have a pinch of love and understanding towards their own people. It is via diversity that the most archaic, old-fashioned, and outdated traditional values have the opportunity to be updated, renewed, and recreated to be more inclusive and accept the patterns that deviate from the normal ways. And it is important to emphasize that difference is not wrong, as it is generally labeled in society nowadays. Furthermore, you are giving voice and inspiration to all the people who can connect and identify with you. I don’t know how flexible is, the most established values in Indigenous communities, but I believe they aren’t easy to break. Even though you may face some challenges along the way and step on a few rocks, you’re also building a collective path for others who are yet to come and that are similar to you. I believe you are helping, with your example, the gay and Indigenous communities combined. Finally, that’s how I believe we can make a difference wherever we live, be it in a community, in a family, or in a society. Being ourselves allows for real world change, as originality creates diversity and makes the world more colorful and new. At first, we may face some difficulties, but the outcome in the long run will be worth it.
i never knew native americans were all transgender... i dont think thats what they meant by 2 spirits but hey what do i know. im not even from this culture and i know thats not what they meant, they werent all "queer" people, thats crazy.
Operation Come Home is an absolutely badass, amazing organization. But please for the love of God, remove those ridiculous plexiglass screens from the students’ desks. That level of continued precaution after all these years is suffocating.
I dont really believe this was that fair to all candidates. I believe Mr. Guevara is the most understandable and respectable candidate, and he should be given a platform to express himself. I think the wall was a great idea that should be explored more, very very sad.
young voters have lost all trust in the government and that has shattered our sense of community. many people who can vote do not, since most of the time the candidates who make it to the top only seek to preserve the status quo. many of those who wish to create a change in their community are unable, as the barrier of entry to partake in these discussions is deceptively far. only those who have been blessed with prior connections and power can make change. often times, however, creating change would shift the status quo in a way that would make them lose power. the discussions here do not resemble the discord, anger, and contempt we have in our hearts for the current way society is structured. we can kick, yell, and scream, yet our voices will still be unheard. i believe we need to focus on fixing ottawa’s sense of community in order for our voices to truly reach one another, and gregory “jreg” guevarra’s plan to create the ottawall for all is the only way to truly address this concern. if we stop focusing on the rest of the world and instead provide more viable ways to engage in the community (for example, government jobs) i believe ottawa would thrive.
Friendly reminder to my fellow Jreggites to build bridges, not just walls. Tell them _why_ we need the Ottowall; don't assume the benefits are obvious.
forget all of the other ideological stuff. the biggest way a mayor can make long-term impact is through city planning. sutcliffe's city planning policy is awful; mckenney's is decent
Ottawa's business elites have essentially parachuted Sutcliffe into this mayoral race. He has no vision beyond protecting those with investments in the existing car-centric infrastructure.
exactly. local politics isn't about broad ideals, it's about what the candidates can actually control. sutcliffe's city planning/infrastructure policy is horrible; mckenney's is decent. simple as that
We're ignoring Ottawa's next true hero: Greg Jreg Guevara. Mr. Guevara is a clearly a real leader, with real influence, and should be a part of this debate platform and those to come. To silence him, is to silence what politics fundamentally means. Godspeed, Guevara!
