This channel presents videos created by Dr. Venkatesh Merwade and hydrology students at Purdue University to create water awareness by describing hydrologic processes or events in short clips. The channel also includes videos that are 15-20 minutes long for use in hydrology instruction. Although the overall goal is educational, students are encouraged to let their creativity dictate the content so some of the videos are fun, educational and cool to watch! Enjoy, learn, and subscribe!
Thank you for the great videos! I was wondering where can I find your Arc Hydro tutorials. I went throught the playlist but nothing found related to Arc Hydro.
Hello, please I don't know where I can find the control specification data, for the rainfall data I have present the maximum for each year. Is there any way to skip this step or any method to know what to add?
This a very good example when yu have a very high resolution DEM. Please do make a video on situations where you have coarse DEM resolution such as DEM 30m form SRTM.
Thank you so much for these very clear explainations. I have just 1 problem, when I open Map Layers, select a layer and click on Draw properties, nothing shows up, I can't enter Draw properties for example for the DEM colors. Can you help me please ?
These are just starting values. No specific reason. Based on your results, you can change these values to match observations or if you have historical discharge data, there are ways to estimate K and X. You can look up online on how to estimate K and X.
Hello, i came across an error while running QSWAT Rev681. the 64-bit debug " forrtl : error (72): floating overflow" .Kindly help with the solution. Thank you
I am new to HEC RAS Hydraulic Modeling. I have created my geometry using the ras mapper, saved it and opened in the geometry editor. However, one thing I noticed is the the Cross Section Coordinates table have an extra column with n-value header. I think it is not supposed to be there. Its present makes it difficult to set Manning's n for the LOB Channel and ROB. How did this extra column appear there and how can I remove it? many thanks for anyone helping me Sylvester
Sir, I have to convey my love & gratitude for such a nice presentation ! Your extensive help while presenting a complex subject in such a simplistic way while adopting a systematic approach 🙏my best wishes 💕
Hi there, I have a question. Where did you get the discharge data for your simulation ? Did you estimated it using the SCS-CN method or is it through a observation or trials of test in the specified area?
Discharge is the output from the simulation. I also have observed data from a gauging station at the outlet. The CN values used in the model were obtained using soil and land use data. There are videos showing how to do that on the channel.
Thanks again for good teaching. I wanted to know if it is possibke to run the model in 1 Day step (for examle having precipitation in one week) how we should set the cn number.because in the second and third day of having rainfall in the watershed, the cn will be changed?
Hey, i have an issue that is coming always whenever I am checking the results after running the model , the results indicate no values for discharge and volume and also some graphs do not show up , what would you think is the problem causing that ?
I am working with a similar tutorial from HEC-HMS for Salsipuedes Creek. I am following the exact same steps in the tutorial, but when I try to do any pre-processing, nothing happens, no layers are added. Have you heard of a similar issue?
