If we can maybe call it "power mom" style, it goes down a little bit better. But I agree 100% with everything you said about it, Jennifer. Personally, I still prefer the classic, quiet luxury, because it often entails fine skin and haircare rather than bold, expensive lipstick or an intricate hairstyle.

Hey Jennifer! 🌻 I was just watching some of your “old” videos again for fun, and I came across one with bloopers. It reminded me of how much I absolutely LOVE your laugh and sense of humor! 😂 I know your style of videos is more refined these days, but would you consider throwing in a “fun” one every now and then for us? ❤🥰

The portrait screams “blood” to me. It makes me very uncomfortable.

I was shocked that King Charles would approve or be involved with this portrait. It seems so critical of the monarchy…it seems to me to show King Charles bathed in the blood of British Imperialism. His face looks kind and sad as he is disappearing into the gory institution. The monarch about to land is a blessing and a curse…to be touched by nature is a blessing, but to become the monarch of this bloody regime is to disappear into it. In fact, Charles is already disappearing into the red and all that remains are his face and hands. The symbols of royalty, such as the uniform and sword, were the first to go.

I think “rich mom” has always been around but just now has the official title…

Tha actual portrait of the King's face is so life-like. I have different taste, but the King chose the artist, knowing the artist's style. He could not have been too surprised by the results.

I like the King Charles painting. It is definitely a power piece.

Maybe “young matriarch aesthetic” would sound better.

I love the portrait. Incredibly striking and unexpected, which is hard to do, while still evoking so much symbolism.

Personally I like the Royal portrait. I like the warmth and movement of the red, the strength of the uniform and the delicacy and gentleness of the butterfly. It’s quite different and invigorating to me.

Jennifer, thank you! This beautiful video brought to mind a section in one of your books "enjoying the pleasures of the afternoon"--something I strive for each day. Like you, I enjoy my morning coffee in the garden--and I use it as a time for reflection and prayer. Beauty and leisure do fill our souls!

Rich mom is just renaming quiet luxury, IMO, so there can be a fresh story in the media. The look is timeless and quite a classic Ralph Lauren polished look. Jennifer, you said we can dress this way on any budget; would you order a white denim skirt, white top, shoes and bag so we can see your choices on a tighter budget? Do you really want my opinion on KC new portrait? The red overwhelms the portrait like blood and the butterfly visiting him is Diana.

I'm not in love with the "Rich Mom" title, but I am happy to see fellow young mothers who also dress simply and classy rather than in leggings and sweatshirts. I would like to hear tips on how to accessorize while being a mom to a explorative, handsy toddler, aside from a practical handbag. I can't wear any necklaces without being choked and I have to be careful that whatever I wear on my wrists can't be yanked off and broken or easily mouthed.

As a portrait of a royal, and as an artist myself, I find the portrait of King Charles horrific. The likeness is good but the red is overwhelming. The King is absorbed into the background. If you saw the King’s face when he first unveiled it, he dropped his gaze and seemed to collect himself. The skin is a mottled mess. This portrait of a man of dignity. This piece degrades him. Leave it to the TATLER and the ROLLING STONE magazines for such avant garde artistry. The King and Queen like it? What else can they say? As to the phrase, “rich mom”, how divisive and elitist. We middle class women cannot have classic looks and style? Personally, I prefer tailored trousers over jeans. Jeans are overdone. Thanks for another interesting video. Best wishes. 🇺🇸🇺🇸

To me, the red in the King Charles III portrait symolizes blood on his hands and the personal bloody journey leading to him becoming king. I would love to hear more of your thoughts and summary re: Rich Mom aesthetic. I appreciate you, and your excellent segments. Love from Canada. Catherine.

That painting! I think the painting shows how the monarchy is disappearing in the background, and frail like that butterfly.

Can you do a video exploring extremely affordable options for luxury looking watches and bags? On a very tight budget here, but want to add a watch and bag in to my quiet luxury basics(most of which are thrifted) to rock the rich mom look

The rich mom aesthetic just looks classic to me - although I’ve never liked logos. And, although King Charles’ portrait is somewhat unusual, I like that it presents a modern view of the monarchy. The bold colors, symbolism of the butterfly, and details of his face make for a complex and beautiful painting. The 50’s vibe of Cannes fashion - love it ! Thanks, Jennifer -

No to rich mum trend money does not equal class and I dislike elegance being associated with logos and so called status items. I like the unusual vibe of the portrait much less stuffy than what might usually appear. Booo to Balenciaga.

Fun, fun, fun video, Jennifer! I personally like King Charles portrait. I use touches of red in my home decor and wardrobe. I could see that painting on my wall. And you’re right-definitely a fifties vibe at Cannes this year.

I love this realization! I am in a season of life where my body is always changing. And I love jeans and blouses and blazers (more of a casual city look?), but also linen and cotton dresses/ skirts. I like going out, but rarely do as I am a stay at home wife and mom who homesteads. I often find I do not have a certain look and this is so validating! It is okay to like a variety and not stick into a specific style box. In doing that it becomes your style. I had a friend tell me she loves my style and it was the best compliment because I had felt like I didn’t have one. But the mixed styles is my style haha!
