On the sedan models the drone is minimal. You might be able to find someone in a forum that has it that can shoot a small clip for you if you're on the fence. Thank you
We are using a SMALL. We love the caprock because it is longer. Most platform racks are square on all edges. This one is wide, but we wanted it to be longer than wider. The SMALL will work on almost all Volvo applications.
We usually use an air hose. Chris is pretty meticulous when it comes to our project cars and engine bays. Wiping it down by hand is normally what he does. Thank you for noticing.
On my 2018 V60 XC, I added: an IPD skidplate, the IPD rear anti-sway bar, and an IPD upper engine torque mount. Tyger roof rack on Thule crossbars, with a lockable Pelican case. Hood-mounted 20" TigerLights LED lightbar (safe location to avoid flying rocks).
Really hoping you can shed light on a recent (possibly related?) issue of mine. I had ‘12 XC60 T6 with around 180k and experienced a shutter which I believe was like what you described here. It felt like trans shift issue and engine light flashed so I pulled over and shutdown. Then I restarted and it felt like a misfire but I was able to drive on 5 cylinders, so I tried driving a few miles to home. After a mile or so smoke was coming out of the hood so I pulled over and opened hood to find sizable fire near oil cap. I backed away , called authorities, and watched the fire get bigger until they extinguished 20 mins later. Plugs were changed around 130k but not coils to my knowledge (purchased at 110k w/o record). Any input is much appreciated and thanks a ton for the video, I will certainly be more prepared with my current xc70 3.2.
Not so easy on a 2006 c70, plastic become brittle and when you try to pop off the cover the plastic housing is gonna Crack. Just replace the whole unit, you'll be glad you did. Any you do not need to remove motor mount, yeah the air box is tight but totally doable to remove
If you are looking at this video please pay attention to the fact that they are setting the crank position at the wrong place. They set it at 15 degrees btdc rather than 0.
To take entire knuckle and control arm out? I though volvo makes special tool to disconnect ball joint and it is only $75 for both sides. Also a big control arm depressor tool(look up Astro pneumatic )is like $60 and will make this job way easier. Plus maybe a tool to spread the knuckle spreader tool if you live in rust belt and/or don't want to hammer entire day($20).
Looking forward to updates as you go Bud, particularly the headliner and interior replacement as this is a job I’m thinking of doing on my R in weeks to come. Chris can we have an update on the Flash Green R please, we know you’ve had this car for some years now but would be great to have some retrospective reviews on how she’s still performing. Keep up the good work both big fans here over in the UK 🇬🇧😎🙏👊
Absolutely!!!!.... we are planning on doing a full blown overview of the R very soon. It's on our agenda to cover the Flash Green V70R. Stay tuned. Thank you for supporting us and watching.
I just picked up a Yamaha 4.4 out of a wrecked XC90, I so badly want to put it in my 1996 Volvo 960, which is Volvos last rear wheel drive car, I want to have a V8 in my 960 and keep it all Volvo minus the transmission. I’d love to run that V8 in my 960 paired to a manual transmission but in terms of programming or getting the ecu to run the motor without issue I don’t know what I’m doing
It reduces body roll. You will primarily feel it when entering a freeway entrance on a long corner. You especially feel more stable if you load the vehicle with extra weight. If you ever have to avoid an accident situation, your vehicle will be more nimble and stable in those moments. Traction control on newer Volvos kicks in when the car thinks it is out of control. The anti sway bar will help all instances and quick maneuvers by reducing unwanted body roll. Thank you
Be careful removing the fuel pressure sensor if the fuel rail pressure has not been relieved first. I got sprayed in the face with gasoline. Smother it with a rag, and expect it to pop off like a champaign cork.
Thanks man. Bought my car used and it had 1 inch filter in 1.5 slot. I started to repeat and hated the “fit”. Glad to find your video to confirm that was wrong.
ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-oesDnmaO4TI.htmlsi=GZ9jAM7PGC-hI77L Great engine for 60s style Ac Cobra 427 replica ... tried comments in Emelia Hartford and others but no takers to transplant the 60deg light B8444s. The Lancia Stratos would also be amazing. Ford bought Volvo in the period Yamaha was tasked to build 60deg V8 for Volvo and I think 2 Ford engines. Curious the XC90 software is for torque and S80 is quite revvy. Which is being used in this car?
