Art Fleming was very precise and articulate. Peter Marshall seemed mostly business, but a little fun. Gene Rayburn was just a nut. His show was fun from start to finish. It was comedic genius and constant laughter. When I was a preteen, I wanted to host a game show because of Gene Rayburn!
They let two technically incorrect answers slide. Usually they wouldn’t take “Besutiful Day” for “It’s a Beautiful Day” or “In the Name of Love” for “Pride (In the Name of Love).”

Used to drive me crazy that since Brett Somers didn't do one damn thing on TV except be on this show, that she constantly held up the game trying to get air time. The entire pace of the program would STOP when they would come to her turn to show an answer as she dragged out the time. Always wanted questions repeated, made comments on every person's answer, and stuck her nose in everyone's writing.
Oh yes, 'it's obviously tough being under pressure on the first podium', isn't it, Alexander? It must be the pressure of having a bigger choice of answer available to you, before any of the other ones have been taken. Always a huge disadvantage, that.
Her superpower is the ability to induce a massive dose of paralysing, debilitating cringe, with her vocal chords; during which you lose control of your eyes and they start rolling around and around in your head.
This was one of those genuine trips down memory lane to the 80's! I vividly remember the "I Want Your Sex" answer when I watched DD in 1988. And I almost forgot Marc Summers' guest hosting of Scrabble. Golden!

"Doesn't she have pretty nipples? Er, um dimples?" The arrogance and ignorance of that generation has often baffled me... Sure, I was blessed with autism and have gained certain experience and wisdom, but does it take an autistic person with trauma to recognize fake sincerity? Doesn't it seem quite obvious he meant to say nipples? Even pause the video clip and look at his face... does it seem to show embarrassment? No... in fact, his smile shows what is called dushane markers - the lines by the eyes when somebody smiles and is experiencing joy and happiness. I'm a bit of a sassy sis, and I'm grateful I wasn't in her situation, because I don't know how I may have responded... Lol "oh you're sooooo clever, do you come up with your own lines, or do the writers want to make you seem like a skeezy old man?" Surusly. 🤔
Interesting to see that Butch Hartman was a contestant on the Match Game Hollywood Squares Hour before he became the creator of the Fairly Odd Parents, and he also appared alongside Tom Kennedy on an episode of the CBS game show Body Language around the same time. I wish I could have been old enough to have sat through the taping of these episodes to see a star in the making!
