Hi Corey, YES, I'll be installing this whole setup on my 50 foot tower in the coming week. Also will be doing a Meshtastic collaboration with Gabe over at the RU-vid channel Saveitforparts. We're going to try to do a long distance MQTT interconnection between our nodes.
This is so interesting! I've played around with an Asterisk server before on a static-IP but always struggled to make that PBX connection. Nice to see what Steve Dave sees on his desk.
threw mine out good riddence eaty to get links online and stream live.. they only work 1 week at time until you reset also you could have goot a lpt to usb converter cable for 10 bucks and that would of worked..
I enjoyed my FTA setup years ago, I had a 3 foot motorized dish, I forget the receiver brand, but it was fun scanning for satellites and channels, found some pretty cool stuff to watch.
Hello from the Windsor Ontario area what part of Ontario are you in I see you mentioned Toronto in your video just got into mesh tastic bought myself two v3 models
Nice!! Also, thanks for reminding me to put my butt set in my work bag for tomorrow morning lol. Two calendar reminders failed, but starting this video made me go "oh yeah!"
@@peterfairlie2296 I'm a network/telecom engineer for a financial institution, so I just support internal systems and customers. The majority of our stuff is IP based, but we're getting ready to make some changes and I've got some ancient POTS lines to trace out and my office butt set died today.
@@peterfairlie2296 I responded to this earlier, IDK why it isn't showing up?? I'm a network/telecom engineer for a financial institution handling internal customers and systems. The majority of my stuff is IP based, but still have some POTS lines that I need to trace out and my office butt set died on me today.
The one you did not understand (at 8:45 into the video), with the length of 0:35, and stopped playing halfway through, said: "Hello I'm Viktor from Hungary and I'm calling you via a VoIP call..." in Hungarian. Wondering why he thought you'd be able to understand...
Imagine to look on my parents face when I pointed out that the cost of a 33.6kbps modem saved them 7 years of monthly cable bills…. They never questioned me again.
Where do i begin to learn about this. This stuff intrigues me more than anything and would love to learn more but need someone to point me in a direction.
Direct TV and all other corporations give me a chuckle when they calculate the loss they incur from pirating as being money they would've received, when most pirates would never give them a dime to begin with. Oh and then assuming that all the pirates would be buying the top end package! Priceless!
I bought 2 Heltec devices with whip antennas. I'm in the middle of NO WHERE and am picking up masts up to 48km away. Now I want to build a solar repeater to extend the range where I live. How much range can I expect (at a high elevation) with an omni VS a directional antenna setup? I'd rather not have to setup up more than one station. Thanks!
My office is in one of three bedrooms on the second floor of my home and after getting rid of cable, I'm using a metal coat hanger antenna placed in one of the other bedrooms that's unfinished and used basically as a storage area. All bedrooms have windows and the coat hanger is near the window in the 'storage' room. I straightened out the hook on the coat hanger and used 320 grit sandpaper to remove any coating on the straight end of the coat hanger. I then simply used a coax connector to connect the cable from the tv to the cable that's connected to the coat hanger. I cut one end of the coax connector off the connecting cable and stripped about 2" off the end, along with the wound grounding wire, leaving the center copper wire, then tightly wrapped the copper center wire around the straight end of the coat hanger and held it in place with electrical tape. Did a channel scan and I'm getting 42 channels including all local channels, all with excellent quality. Sounds like a lot to do but only took about 15 min. Office TV is a cheap 20" Sansui that I don't use much anymore anyway since I'm now retired. But when I'm up here, it's nice to have the company of the TV. BTW, for local channels on my other two TVs (main 55" in living room, 40" in bedroom) I'm using flat HD antennas with excellent results. Both TVs are Roku, so plenty of content without cable. Went from $200+/mo to $39/mo for just internet.
Hey Man, Probably wont see this but, I set one these up to just have 2 phones and no luck. set it up exactly how the guide said online and no dial tone and no ringing at all. Any ideas? Thanks
