That's awesome! I bet the trail hasn't changed too much over the years. We will certainly remember this trek for years to come. We're glad we could help bring back some fond memories. Thank you for watching and commenting! 🙏
Outstanding production! I really like the addition of the time lapse while you were chilling out. And the bike ride looked fun. I just hope you didn't overshoot your final destination. Cheers!
Most beautiful desert in the world. Truly heaven on earth. Very spiritual and soul searching. Like another planet but it’s here on earth. Must see video. No words are proper. Don’t think a poet❤could capture its essence.
The Atacama Desert feels like an alien world, and it's unexpectedly full of cool creatures. We captured many of them in this video. David's favorite is the Ñandú (Greater Rhea), while Kako is in love with the Giant Coot chicks. Which critter do you like the best?
We visited in April, which is in the rainy season, so the lagoons and canals were quite flooded. You can visit any time of year, though you may have a different experience/environment. I believe September/October are the dry season in Cuyabeno, but the forest might still be flooded. However, there has been a lot of drought in the Amazon recently, so it is probably less predictable. Even if the forest is not flooded, I'm sure it is an interesting place to visit. For example, that is the best time to see anaconda 🐍. Enjoy your trip! 🐒
Cheers! Yeah, I’d say it’s necessary. We encountered a couple without a harness, and they had to use our rope to get up. There are three peaks total. We did the south one, so I can’t say for certain if the North and Central peaks require a harness, but probably. Beautiful hike!
Glad you liked it! No other equipment required, though we did come across a couple groups that roped up for the final ascent/descent, so I guess it depends on your comfort level. We didn’t think it was too bad, but it can be slippery if it’s raining.
Hi!! Amazing treks!! I watched this one and Huayhuash..they are awesome!! Amazing, breath-taking views and great videos!! Definetely they are on my bucket list... Did you manage to do it by your own or you hired an organized agency in Peru? Greetings from a trekking lover!! Cheers from Patagonia!!
Thank you for watching and commenting! Ausangate and Huayhuash are amazing treks that should be on every hiker's bucket list. It is certainly possible to do these hikes without a guide, but we hired local guides in Cusco for Ausangate (Salkantay Trekking) and Huaraz for Huayhuash (Quechuandes). Both companies were excellent and made the trek more enjoyable and easier, and the food was amazing!
Not an ordinary vlog where every RU-vidr is always hungry and shows us WTF they are eating. Nice and serene Patagonia. Lush fields, noisy creeks, and lively mountain ranges. I do want to be there. Beautiful.
🤣 There sure are a lot of hungry RU-vidrs! Thanks for watching and commenting. Patagonia is an absolutely magical place. I hope you have the chance to experience it in person someday!
I guess I should not have cut the footage of the couple in question hiking in their white hoods and robes, or the scene where they flashed their Ku Klux Klan membership cards. 😛 In all seriousness, I guess in the subtitles I failed to adequately explain all that happened. I certainly left out a few details to keep the story moving along. Racist behavior is not always obvious to those committing it, or to those not on the receiving end. Maybe you just had to be there. Your theory provides me another opportunity to sing the praises of our wonderful support team at Quechuandes. We were always able (and encouraged) to move at our own pace, and it was never necessary to wait for anyone, so (fortunately) we did not have to hike together as a group unless we wanted to. And whenever necessary, there were enough members of the support team to hike with folks moving at different paces, as was the case when I was ill and hiked with the muleteer and/or cook. Thank you for taking the time to watch the entire video and follow along with the subtitles, and for taking the time to comment. It helps bring visibility to the story.
It's amazing how you can show me sides and views of my own country that I never thought were possible. The cinematography is top notch and inspiring as a fellow creative soul. That said, I watched the video with a sense of impending doom because of the subject of racism, which is a problem I have experienced myself too when traveling abroad (particularly in Europe). I just hope the couple wasn't Peruvian, since that's the vibe I got from the initial presentation of the video/thumbnail.
Thank you for watching and for your thoughtful words! We are sorry that you had to experience racism during your travels. It is such an ugly side of humans. Also, sorry for giving you a feeling of dread while watching the video. To be clear, the couple were not Peruvian (they were from my home country). In fact, all the Peruvians we have met during our travels have been amazing people! We love Peru and hope to return many more times!
@@MEOWnderlust Thank you for the clarification. It sounds shallow but it was a huge relief for me. We Peruvians don’t have a lot to offer so we pride our ourselves on our hospitality (and food!). Besides my personal feelings about the difficult topic of racism, the video is so beautiful that I keep showing it to friends to showcase my country. It truly makes me proud and I am beyond thankful to you for sharing your unique art with us.
@@Aiyoukim I totally understand and am glad you can breathe a sigh of relief! Thanks again for your kind words, and for sharing this video with your friends. It means a lot to us. Peru is an amazing country and should be on every traveler’s bucket list! Breathtaking scenery, world-class hiking, interesting cities, friendly people, rich culture, delicious cuisine… You have a lot to be proud of!
Thanks for doing this video, it really brought me back. I finished not too long ago and the memories are so fresh, you had a lot of good shots on the O side that I can still remember vividly. I started and ended in Paine Grande instead of Central as the bookings I did set it up that way. On the last day when I took the ferry I looked back at the park and couldn't believe I finished it all, what an adventure... thank you for the video once again
Congratulations on finishing the trek! It is an amazing, breathtaking adventure, isn’t it? We’re glad that our video helped relive some of those memories. Thanks for watching and commenting!
thanks for sharing with us your adventure, what was the name of your tours company guide ?

Amazing. From brasil. I think my carbon fiber tripod benro will be very light with this havy wind. I want to make long exposure shots. What do you think? just the best video and good information too. thank you
Among all the videos I've been watch for this trek, the artistic video of you has thr best shots, best story telling, gave me the feeling of cinematic short films with good transcripts and wonderful videography of all highlights. I'm planning to do this trek but wondering which months of the year you recommend it. Which month did you two do this trak? Also how can i find information about the guides and how am i able to book myself in? Do you recommend to find partners or can be done solo through those guides? (Since i don't have anyone in my team yet)
Hello from the Atacama Desert! 🙏🙏 Thank you so much for the kind words. It means a lot. We did this trek in July. The conditions were ideal. Generally, June to September is the best time to trek in the Andes. Other times of the year, you have a higher chance of rain and snow, and the passes can close when there is heavy snow. We booked this with Quechuandes. We highly recommend them, but they typically require a minimum of 4-5 people to form a group. They might be able to support a solo hiker, but you’d have to check with them. There are probably other agencies that can support a solo traveler, but you may need to give yourself a bit of time in Huaraz to check out the options. You’ll want to spend some time there to acclimatize anyway. We hope you have the chance to do this trek. It is truly amazing, dare we say a life-changing experience!😁
@@MEOWnderlust Thank you thank you thank you! appreciate your time and great tips. Please keep up the good work and can't wait to see more of your awsome adventures!!!
Lovely vedio... The beauty of Machu Pichu is alluring... You have done really an excellent documentary... Please visit Southern part of India also where you will get awasome mountain ranges called 'Western Ghats' which are known as biodiversity hotspots in India after the Himalayas. We here in South India too grow coffee and process it in the same manner. You will feel like you are roaming in the Amazonian natural and cultural ecosystem in South India. Welcome to you. -Adithya Adiga , Bangalore, India
🙏🙏 Cheers! We will be moving our home base to Asia soon, so hopefully we can visit India in the near future. We'll take your recommendation and put the Western Ghats on our agenda!
After the amazing O Trek, we head to the gorgeous Los Glaciares National Park in El Chaltén and El Calafate for more adventure. Check out the film here: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-g3_EN-Z88zc.html

Mille grazie! That is very poetic! Thank you for the beautiful comment, and thank you for watching! Patagonia is full of enchantment and wonder! We'll never forget it. 🏔️❅
Humongous glacier and everyone and everything is dwarfed by its presence. From green colors to snowcap mountains to glaciers. Patagonia is the place to be. What a great video. Thank you.

Such a great video! I love the sounds of the birds and nature in this one. The close ups of the birds and caterpillars was a treat too! Keep going guys 💛🙏
You had it all on this hike. So majestic and just stunning views. The glacier and mountain peaks. Beautiful and peaceful. To have 8 days to absorb it all priceless. Thank you once again for filming your hike
