I love all the trails from Bell Rock- love Big Park Loop, Llama, Templeton, Slim Shady, etc. We like doing a loop from Big Park up to Templeton, head up to Cathedral Rock, down to Buddha Beach, then back via Baldwin and Hi Line. You can take a break by the river at the bottom of Templeton and refresh before heading back. If you choose not to do Hi Line you can bail out and ride paved trails back to the parking lot.

Don't waste your money on Ridewrap. It's overpriced and an absolute pain to apply.

Two years later, have you experienced any issues with the motor? Thinking of buying one used and am curious if you’ve encountered anything

No issues so far. Had the power button die after a month of not riding but SC replaced it under warranty. My fault though. Looks like some really good deals out there on ebikes these days

How do I get to these trails

Pro tip... Buckle the back first and then the side clips after. That's when it snaps in place in a more solid way and feels way more secure

Hi! I'm new to MTB and used regular sports shoes until now. About a month ago, I had a silly fall and dislocated my big toe after kicking the ground. Now that I'm getting back into riding, I've decided to buy dedicated MTB shoes to prevent a similar incident from happening again, haha. I'm leaning towards the Trailcross Mid. My only concern is if they provide enough toe protection to avoid similar injuries. Apart from that, they seem great, and I like the added ankle protection. What do you think? Can I be confident with them? Thanks!
@TrailDad
@TrailDad Год назад
Yes a proper mtb shoes will be best along with proper flat pedals with pins that keep your foot in place. However if you want protection, this shoe doesn’t really provide much. Try other fiveten model with stiffer soles. Not really much protection with mtb shoes. The most important thing is it grips the pedals sp you don’t slip and injure you foot. Happy pedaling!

Some difficult bolder rolls and technical, rocky sections at top. The lower section was a waste of time, mostly.

My exact same experience, and I even rented the same bike from Thunder. I rode Llama and Eazy Breezy too, but got there at 9am from Phoenix, was supposed to be a high of 74 but I was roasting out there. Some of those punchy climbs are tough and I had to walk up a few of them. Everything downhill was fun and about as challenging as I wanted to ride. Not trying to visit the hospital on vacation, and only riding with a half shield ... I was definitely tired after 2 hours though. Next time I'll check out Mescal and Hogs, but this week we're hitting up Hawes again. Going out at 7am so hoping to avoid the sun.

Where this trails are located?

You must ride the Methuselah trail down from North Leaf to the El Corte de Madera creek at the bottom. It is a great descent with good jumps and Incredible views at the bottom where the creek is. The creek is very serene if it has water. I rode in Feb 2023, and it is PERFECT!

Are ebikes still banned there?
@crabkilla
@crabkilla Год назад
@@TrailDad Yes, but I have a Scott Patron eMTB and ride Skeggs all the time with no issues. I also see eMTB often at Demonstration Forest and Santa Cruz, even though they are banned. Incredibly dumb "rule" if you ask me. They are not motorcycles, they are e-assist. Ok . . . so what if it enables me to climb at 5 mph instead of 2 mph LOL
@crabkilla
@crabkilla Год назад
@@TrailDad Occasionally you are going to get some "analog" rider make some comment, "make sure the Ranger doesn’t see you with that eBike" but I have never had any problems or confrontations about it. I rode past a Ranger sitting in a truck at the Skeggs trailhead a couple of weeks ago. 🙂

Take off the cranks, wheels and rear shock. Then mount in a stand. Wash the bike perfectly clean then alcohol swab it well. Use plenty of spray on the bike, the part, and your hands. Soak it, because this displaces air much better and makes squeegeeing air out easier. Use a hair dryer to get pieces to tightly conform. Don't fear that when you come back after putting down bubble free wrap to see below bubble all over have appeared. It's normal, it's simply water that migrates as the drying happens. Leave the water bubbles alone and they will dry away and it goes totally back to perfect, I mean perfect wrappage. But it's important to make sure all air is removed when applying.

I know this is an old video but when you tie your laces tie your overhand knot normally, make your first loop then wrap it a round normally, but when you push the lace through to make your 2nd loop this is the trick here…. Push it through again then pull the loops tight. This gives you double the holding power of the knot and holds like you double knotted it. I learned this trick when I bought my 1st pair of high end hiking shoes from the guy that was fitting me.

I also have a v3 Bronson…..starting to get creaks and ticks from bottom bracket so wanting to replace it myself as well…….do you know what socket I meed? Number of Notches/diameter etc ? Also is the bb on the Bronson sram dubs bsa or Italian? Trying to figure out which one to order Any other brand you recommend for more heavy duty use? I’m a big guy so I’d rather upgrade to something more heavy duty lol…….new to bottom brackets so not too sure what I’m looking for in terms of something that would fit a v3 Bronson CC (what should I look for on a bottom bracket to verify it’ll fit? 73mm bsa? Any other term or number I should be looking for as far as compatibility goes?
