I lived on Treasure Island in '87-'89. 1243C Northpont Dr. I was in 2nd and 3rd grade there at the elementary. We moved in the summer before the earthquake. I played t-ball for two years, went to the youth center, saw The Land Before Time at the movie theater there, and skated to pop music at the skating rink.
@@blain20_ All that checks out! That theater always showed movies later than the original release. I moved away from the island around when you got there.
Very Nice, Thanks Kenny👍🏾! So many beautiful and interesting things to see at the Getty Museum 🤗!! To be honest, it’s only as I’ve gotten older, that I’ve become more open and interested in museums. My favorite museums that I’ve been to are The Civil Rights Museum and the Stax Museum, both in Memphis TN. , Absolutely Amazing💜 !! “The Waltz” piece at The Getty Museum was Gorgeous ! I love how sleek, smooth and intertwined it is! Dance is near and dear to my heart 😉💜! Well, I hope you got to enjoy the rest of your time checking out the Getty museum, it looks to be a Beautiful place! Thanks Again, All the Best ☀️! R
@@rhearoderick2552 Hey! I loved the Getty. And I'm glad you enjoyed it. Those museums in Memphis seem interesting. I've never been to Memphis. I'll have to make that a future stop. Thanks!
Omg, you should definitely go!! I think you’d love both, but especially the Civil Rights Museum, lots of different emotions, but Oh so fascinating as well ! The Stax Museum is based on American Soul Museum 🎶😍! Of course you should definitely do some research on them before going to make sure It’ll be worth going for you. I happened to be there working and decided to take full advantage of going, and Boy am I glad I did! They were both fascinating and inspiring 💜! PS glad you didn’t take any “extra sculptures”, We need you OUTSIDE😉😀✌🏾!
Very interesting!!! I live in Charlotte NC. I think I'm a take a trip up there. Originally, I'm from Pittsburgh. The Apps mountain range extends up there too.
Is that the Moravian College bookstore you refer to? Ir's not a private bookstore. Moravian College opened in 1742, long after Harvard. (1636).Surely they had a bookstore, one older than Moravian's. The Andover bookstore opened in 1809.
@@hsage1 "At our bookstore, books are not just commodities: they are ideas, culture, free exchanges of speech, stories, history. Books are friends" I love this place already. Thanks so much for sharing that info. I'm definitely going to explore it sometime. The town has a great history too, including several stops on the underground railroad. Thanks again for sharing.
I live in L.A. and love visiting Avalon. The city has plenty to do, but is small enough to be walkable. Although renting a golf cart is fun, too. My favorite place for breakfast is The Sandtrap, by the golf course. Tasty huevos rancheros and patio seating. A great way to start the day. The first time I went to Catalina was about 35 years ago. I was there to record some segments for a radio show I was doing at the time. The Visitor Center gave me their phone number and told me I would never forget it - and they were right. After dialing the area code, the number is 5-10-15-20. It doesn't get any easier than that. When we were touring the Casino, our guide said they would call the organist to see if he was home. He was, and he came down to play the 1929 Page Pipe Organ for us. Awesome to hear that massive pipe organ. Hotels on the island can be pricey, as can AirBNB rentals, but Avalon is a great place to relax, unwind, enjoy good food and great weather. I'll be heading over there again soon!
@@reedberry Hi Reed! Thanks so much for sharing your experiences at Avalon. What a fun place to visit. It felt like a wonderful place to unwind. I'll love it and I'll be back. Thanks for your support!
You are a mislead individual misleading individuals. The species appropriate diet for pandas is bamboo The species appropriate diet for humans is Carnivore
I lived on the island for about 6 months 20 years ago. I worked at a hotel during the day, and played music at night. Great experience. Check it out if you can.
Hi Kenny! Lovely video of City Park. I walk this gorgeous place everyday. In 2016 I decided to restart my life here in Denver. Love it and they're stuck with me. All the best & always do what makes you happy.
@@rebeccaoconnor6310 Denver knows how to maintain a great Park. I have my own favorite but I love City Park a lot. Thanks for the message and encouragement!
Kenny, So Very Sorry that your Dad and you all in your family are going through a challenging time, I Truly do hope that everything gets better and better for your Dad and you all 🙏🏾. Unfortunately, I too in the last few years or so have been dealing with some of the hardest challenges of my life, so I have an idea and can understand. Peace and Blessings to You All 💜. As for the video, I may have said this before but some of my favorite things are the Arts, parks, walking and great conversation, so this style of video works for me🤗! Of course, the traveling ones are at the top of the list but this one was like walking through the park chatting with a friend, which I love doing! So, do what you need to do, however you need to do it. Anyway, Be well friend (in my head), I’ll holla! 😁I’m silly , 🙃 Best☀️! R.
@@rhearoderick2552 Thanks for the message. I'm glad you liked this style of video. Im still figuring out my podcast so its nice to know what works best for viewers and listeners. Thanks for your support. 🙏🏾
Nice! I’ve been there but we didn’t get to do the bison tour as planned. There was a Zydeco event happening and we got stuck at the Mexican restaurant eating, dancing and socializing. I didn’t see it in your footage, but the restaurant was before getting to the casino. It’s been years, so maybe they closed it or changed it to something else. I would definitely love to see that bell tower up close.
@@MissCalLowe I didnt feature restaurants. I probably should in the future for people who want to see what the food is like. Socializing and dancing sound like fun things to be doing while the event is going on. Thanks for checking this one out. The island was a lot of fun!
Pronounced June-"a"-lusska is a native American name, Junaluska's name is an Anglicized form of his second Cherokee name, which meant “One who tries, but fails.” if you need too know anything about these mountains just give me a holler 😊
@@daughteroftheeagle5396 Wow! That's some interesting history and meaning behind the name. Thanks for sharing that. Ill certainly give you a holla when I start digging again. 🙏🏾
@@rhearoderick2552 Thank you! I'm glad you enjoyed it. I loved making this one. I like the video where i just put music to different scenes. There will be more in the future
Hi Kenny, I love this! I’m so glad that you decided to have your Dad on your podcast! I saw in another one of your earlier videos with your Dad in it, how you really love and respect him so much, it was so Beautiful to witness! I really respect and appreciate all of your Dad’s honest and beautiful stories; and the fact that he doesn’t mind sharing them with us, Thank You so kindly Sir ! A fun fact about me is, for as long as I can remember, I’ve always loved being around /listening to older people tell there stories. It’s always fascinated me, and I truly respect and am empowered by their journeys 💜! Keep doing your thing Kenny👍🏾👌🏾! Best, R
We are happy too! The way you describe him, definitely leaps out of the videos at us🤗! It’s evident that you both are so proud of each other, which is so lovely 🙂! Well, until the next collaboration, Y’all take Good care, Best☀️
I really enjoyed seeing all the homes on the island. They really show off the creativity of the people who live there. That view of the beach from above is beautiful. You caught the clock bells at the right moment! The casino looks nice. That beach looks beautiful, but the rocks look a bit tricky along that shoreline. Great look around the island 😊
Thanks for this. I lived for several years around the corner at Arundel on The Bay community. There is lots of history there and always visited the house. Wonderful area to live in. Maryland has tons of black history.
Wow , absolutely loved the content of this video! However , I felt the thumbnail could be even more eye-catching. As a professional graphic designer with 2+ years of experience , I took a shot at creating a new one that captures the video's vibe a bit better :))
Definitely understandable. Hoping for a speedy recovery for your loved one and no elevated anxiety for all family and friends in waiting during this difficult period.
Thanks for the educational video. I appreciate it. FYI, next time you're in the Asheville, NC area, check out Lake Junaluska. It's the site of the filming of Dirty Dancing.
