Whoever canned with those jars probably did not add white vinegar in the canning water. Some glass can actually be so etched that nothing will clean them because sometimes the cloudiness is not grime but actual etching in the glass. If you use powdered detergent in your dishwasher, it can etch the glass and nothing will make them clear and sparkling again….sorry. Even if the glass is cloud, as long as you have thoroughly washed them, they can still use them for canning.
I broke a top of my tomato plant and its super hot at 12pm. I fixed within a hour. the plant was already starting to wither weep. should I leave it in the sun or take it out of sun today
@@ReapingTheHarvest No, the broken part died. I took it off the branch after a week. it was wilted and not taking to the plant. I brought it inside and ran under water and cut broken branch and put in a cup of water. came back to life but died before it could grow roots good enough to replant
@@Hawkslater8 Ah, sorry to hear! Mine has only been a little over a day, but it was slightly wilted today. I think it might make it... If it wasn't a determinate plant I wouldn't worry about it, but I'm afraid I ruined any chance of a harvest if it doesn't make it.
that spider is a spiny orb weaver. I have them all over my woods in central Illinois. no two are the same, super neat spiders! and I'm glad I ran across your video, my daughter wants to grow these this year and I'm glad I now know they are "invasive" they will require special attention
All good for sure. I'm just lazier that that 😆. I but a product called" descaler" from a local restaurant supply. I fill my old black wb cannery with hot water and bring to a boil. Add the descaler. Using rubber gloves, I dunk the jars into the solution. Leave a few minutes then remove the jars. I run them through the dishwasher. No scrubbing. It also cleans out all the built up scale in the canner. I keep many very large aquariums. I use this to clean the scale on them as well created by the filters and splashing water. It's WAY less expensive than CLR.
From experience, I'd say depending on the brand of dishwasher you have, there could be food particles whirling around in the cycles. Just saying! I wanted to add that I did find your video helpful since you showed step by step what your process was.. Thank you
My lil lady saw a tiny tiny plant at the store. Dude it grow like there is no tomorrow. Didnt know i needed to treat them like grape vines.( they are invasive.) Next year their getting about 10 per plant, and yeah you gotta give them something to grow on. Wow their insane.
Hello. I have Vines growing in my garden like crazy and they look like miniature watermelons. The ones that I have not picked have turned Orange the ones in your video will they turn orange if you do not pick them?
I just found your channel because I was looking for information on cucamelons and I am gobsmacked that you don't have more subs. Absolutely criminal! I'm really diggin (pun intended) the vibe of the channel, best of luck. I look forward to more content 💯
Thank you so much. A rain. Storm came last night and really did a number. Cucumber , sunflowers, corn, tomato snapped. I'm in a panic lol. I'm going to try some of this.
I snapped my main stem on my tomato plant and repaired it using tape and a splint. It is all wilted now a day later. Will it recover or should I just clip it off.
@@gardencronicals5909 I thought for sure it was dead but just had to try and save it. I also put triple antibiotic cream around the break. Its just a little smaller than my other one but has gathered steam and is really going good!!
Yes! I love the witches moneybags! They are the best!!! Totally agree. ;) They attract so many different kinds of moths, butterflies and bees that it is unreal. 100's per day, easy.
I have a net over top of the berry patch. Mainly to protect the strawberries and blueberries! No squirrel issues. I don't think the trust to stand on the net.
I just loved this video. I sure hope I can get my jars just as sparkling clean as you got yours. We live in a hard water area and everything comes out cloudy, but I think with your method, I won't see a cloudy patch anywhere, just like yours.
great tip, the music is way too loud relative to you talking though. I have to turn it up when you talk and then the walls shake when the music comes on.
