Harvesting my cucamelons this year has been a challenge with trying to not to disturb too many spider webs. Growing them along in the berry patch has had awesome success and I believe this will be their permanent spot for years to come!
that spider is a spiny orb weaver. I have them all over my woods in central Illinois. no two are the same, super neat spiders! and I'm glad I ran across your video, my daughter wants to grow these this year and I'm glad I now know they are "invasive" they will require special attention
My lil lady saw a tiny tiny plant at the store. Dude it grow like there is no tomorrow. Didnt know i needed to treat them like grape vines.( they are invasive.) Next year their getting about 10 per plant, and yeah you gotta give them something to grow on. Wow their insane.
I've never had or even seen a cucamelon, I would absolutely love to though. Also, never heard of anything called a Mexican Sour Gherkin, and I'm Mexican, so wtf, where have these been all my life?
Hello. I have Vines growing in my garden like crazy and they look like miniature watermelons. The ones that I have not picked have turned Orange the ones in your video will they turn orange if you do not pick them?
I have a net over top of the berry patch. Mainly to protect the strawberries and blueberries! No squirrel issues. I don't think the trust to stand on the net.
