Form swapping seems kinda clunky especially without the Druid buff. But there seems to be a lot of potential synergies Branch of Hollows Unique staff could be really good here with the massive Ward retention buff and the existing Spriggan form ward gen + Twisted heart of Uhkeiros. You can also get cooldown on Primalist body armor implicit(although this slot is heavily contested) and the prefix cooldown recovery while transformed on helmet should help reduce time in Spriggan form. Bringing the cooldown down to 3 secs should be possible(with dual opal rings, implicit gloves and a few exalted affixes) but idk if it's worth the investment.
Good ideas man! It's been driving me crazy to try and put together a decent avalanche build. The wall of nothing was the thing I needed to make sense of using branch of hallows.
Here's a question, In the gahering of the storm tree, it says that "Rending Vortex grants 1% critical chance for GATHERING OF THE STORM per Maelstorm". This implies that critical chance ONLY affects gathering of the storm and does not grant global critical chance. This differs from wording in Harvest tree for Acolyte where Harvest has a node called "Learning weakness" which in fact states that increases GLOBAL critical chance. I think channelling tree is not suppose to be used as channeling skill. there is a node in that tree called Unyielding storm which makes you channel avalanche without channeling avalanche. the issue with this skill is that it only works for 3 seconds and you have to channel the full 3 second to get an extra 3 seconds. So I think gameplay is suppose to be that you press channel button and then let go. unfortunately the Node is SEVERELY under-tuned. it doesn't last long enough and the fact that it is not fixed amount like channel for 1 second = 7-8 seconds makes not worth it. I think it is suppose to work like old avalanche where you press button and then it goes on cooldown firing avalanche. They just made a channelling skill with 0 cooldown with terrible node that will likely be buffed. Avalanche isn't overpowered because they nerfed avalanche boulder rate. If you noticed, the creeps that use Avalanche no longer throw boulders as frequently as before. they used pile boulders on you and it did crazy high damage. Now to get same boulder frequency as last patch, you have spec into bottom nodes to get boulder frequency as high as it was last patch. Previously, these nodes were a lot closer to the center of the tree.

Gonna need to block off some time for this one :) update: great job putting this huge compilation of ideas and tests together, this will be extremely helpful for anyone looking to make their own avalanche build. I can't help but feel there is a super specific combination of things just waiting to be discovered that really turns this into a giga op skill
If avalanche had a lightning conversion, and had a way for it to synergies/proc with tempest strike, tornado, sworm blade or wear bear, it would be fun imo. The way it is now is boring imo.
Im level 80 and tried this build for a whole week. Its all dependent on idols and that is why it sucks. Unelss you find idols that can trigger aftershock you are basically running around with very low damage and you have specialised skill that dont ever trigger....
the aftershock idols are completely optional. In fact, I only used them because I liked how they felt. For a minmax you'd rather just use hybrid health idols.
usually i do the campaign up to where that osprix tower bonus quest is, then i have 15/15 and 8/8, then monolyths. didnt know temporal sanctum skipped that later chapter; ive just been running through the last bit of the campaign at like lvl 70 because i wanted the +1 stats. neato

the person who responded to you is only half correct. Leveling any primalist is painful. I totally recommend making a bunch of twink Attack gear and leveling with Tempest Strike, and gathering storm before that. regarding the "absurd" gear, the other commenter is incorrect. This is the kind of build that you play for a long time (because its fun and rewarding), and you just happen to gear it up over time. Lacking Red Rings? Use Crab Ring and Ocearean instead. Lacking something else? Just swap in a lesser version. The build doesn't perform well because of the gear -- it performs well, and you gear it up.

Man u are just in time . I wanted to try Druid, Any chance Devs will buff melee? IMHO LE as melee is a different game and we don't get any reward by paling melee anyway QQ How much beast master will be better on this build ?
Why spend points increasing the minimum or maximum number of aftershocks if an enemy can only be hit by one? I understand investing in the totem node since enemies can then be hit by the totem's aftershocks in addition to your own, but I do not see why you would want to increase the number of aftershocks per earthquake.

i promise that the itemization is not difficult - I should have discussed this in the video. Before Red Rings, you can use the mini red ring: Crab Ring. It's so good. Another great option is Ocearean, for the More Damage + Less Damage Taken. The build just *happens* to use Red Rings incredibly well.

BoW is a great middle ground for defense and offense for shatterstrike mourningfrost builds. That said, I'm not sure why you would ever use this weapon without mourningfrost. It's a shame that it only adds the melee damage to Cold and Void spells because I was cooking up a spicy spark charge build with it that looked really promising.
its 1 monolith shorter, and the blessings grant you player power. The blessings on the left side are "increased chance to find xyz", which doesn't help you progress.
That wolf build is pretty much exactly what I've wanted to try, except I think it makes more sense to use a storm breaker with added melee lightning damage. (mace does 66% melee damage to storm bolt, does cost two skill points though)
