WOW it's actually been 10 years since this released, time really flies. i watched this when i was a kid, literally like 12 or 13 years old, and even after all these years it's stuck with me. it's so unlike other grimdark fics, it feels so grounded and realistic (if you ignore the pony parts lol). i am especially fond of how twilight is written in this, her way of think resembles an exaggerated mix of psychosis and OCD, i suffer from this combination so maybe thats why this story captivated me, her freakouts throughtout the story remind me of the panic attacks i suffer from (over dumb shit, not candy colored pony murder obviously). thank you so much emogak for narrating this ! i never would've discovered it on my own !
I'm liking the story so far, just the too detailed gory parts that are too unnerving for my taste. I think if the story wasn't so graphic and violent, Candy Mare would have the potential to become an official urban legend in the My Little Pony universe.

From a person who listened to wayyy too much pony over the last several years: I’ve listened to this several times over the last few years and I know that it’s just a fan fiction, but I can’t help but realize in recent years about how badly mental health and the psychosis of psychopaths and sociopaths is presented. I know twilight tends to want to understand all about a thing in order to comprehend it, but I think her descent into madness happened way too quickly and I appreciate the idea behind the story, I just wish it was portrayed better and that the author had taken more time with it. Also Emogak you did absolutely fabulous and I think you are absolutely fabulous!
This....was definitely dark. Poor Twilight, she spiraled down deeper and deeper. And Poor Celestia, witnessing this unfold in the letters. I can only imagine how Luna feels if she has her dream walking powers at this point. I'm actually wondering what Celestia would do. ....And I wonder something darker: Would Celestia consider performing the memory spell twilight wanted to cast before on her and her friends, if it means things "could get better"?
I’m at 6:12 right now, but let me guess. These recipes are to summon some sort of demon, and the cmc goes to their families (except scoots) to make them. When one of the candy is made, the demon appears and kills the ones who made the candy, as well as eating the candy they made.
