Hi! You're at the right channel! We're a bunch of foreigners living in Vietnam. Some for couple months, some couple years already. We would love to share with you the passion for food, tourism and culture in this beautiful country. Making it a lil bit easier for you while visiting Vietnam. Let us know if you want to join in or any question you might have about Vietnam! We will discuss more on where to go, what to eat, what to do in our Facebook Group "Addicted to Vietnam". See you there too! FIY, for the subtitles, we do the Vietnamese CC, would be much appreciated if you guys can add your languages too. I know food is the language itself, but understand what we say in the video is fun too, we promise! (not guaranteed)
The issue is that Westerners often have certain misconceptions about some Southeast Asian dishes, especially those they consider 'horrifying,' like 'balut' - fertilized duck egg with a partially developed embryo that’s boiled, 'tiet canh' - coagulated blood mixed with various additives, 'long lon' - pig intestines, 'thit cho' - dog meat, and even traditional tobacco products like 'thuoc lao' - a type of dried tobacco leaf smoked through a large pipe. This notion usually changes only after they try them. I had some American friends visit Vietnam, and they had heard about these scary dishes through the media. It took a lot of convincing, but I finally got them to try. And guess what? Even in Vietnam, people typically consume these dishes sparingly, probably at most once a week. But after my American friends tried them, they wanted to go eat them repeatedly. I had to tell them it's not like KFC or McDonald's, but they still wanted to eat them three to four days in a row, especially 'tiet canh.' The dishes mentioned above aren't good for your health if consumed frequently, even if you find them delicious. Therefore, I can conclude that once Westerners like these dishes, they might get hooked even more than the Vietnamese.
About the duck blood its rarely we eat it alone. We often eat it and then drink a sip of wine. Please next time having a cup of wine with it. Wine will help you avoid the stomachache too
Dude u r total eating like the local . The egg and fish sauce dipping sauce. I do missed Vietnam. I haven’t been back for 13 years. I’m heading to London on sept 2. I heard the UK food r blend . I don’t know if there r any Vietnamese restaurants in London.

Thanks a million. I visited the place earlier this year, and the impression it's left is lasting. It is important for everyone to learn about how humans are capable of behaving utterly inhuman.
Tbh less and less vietnamese eat blood these days due to disease and hygiene. We even come with fake blood by boiling leaf and with that a same dish with same favor!
How can you possibly say all of the American prisoners were treated well and in accordance with the Geneva Convention? That is straight up a lie. They were beaten, tied up , and even murdered. You should be ashamed for telling a lie like that. There's plenty of videos of actual pow's telling the same story about the treatment .
