I got 0ne of these gave to me somebody pour gas in the oil I drained and flushed the engine with mercron v changed oil and filter that was a success. Then I went to drive it and no movement forward or reverse then I watched this video added fluid nothing so I lifted one side of the mower turned the back wheel and heard a click and pop. Got on and she took off so thanks for the info.
You and one other person and I guess my own stubbornness are responsible for helping me get my wheeler running again. Everywhere else was telling me to buy a new machine, but I’m not a throwaway kind of guy.
Thank you. The mechanics at Gravely couldn't tell me how I could get all of the oil drained from my system (2007 unit) because the one filter I have sits higher than the gear boxes by each tire. Now I know - you don't get all of the oil. Appreciated
I always put the nuts n bolts back together after removing. Also reinstall bolts during teardown when ever possible. Helps if someone else has to put that puzzle back together.
Nice work fixing that Gravely ZT and a good description of what caused the belt failure and I like your attention to detail during the repair! You thinking the belt failures caused the destruction of the two hydro fans? Is having these hydro fans replaced soon important? I guess waiting a bit to make sure the belt fix holds up first is wise, since if the your new belt was to fail it would most likely take out the fans again. Thanks.
Great video! I was about to remove the entire spindle housing from the deck until I watched you do this! I have the 52" deck model 9052...wish I could learn the bearing size BEFORE I start this so I don't have to wait for bearings. Thanks for showing us your method!
Search the deck number 9052. Use the serial number to find the year of the deck. Then look up the part number for the bearings. You can use that number to buy bearings off Amazon or ebay. The 93 and newer decks use metric size bearings 110082 from grasshopper.
The power tool is a milwaukee m12 cordless ratchet. I got 1/4" and 3/8" of them. They are the fuel models with a brushless motor. Very worthwhile investment for me. Thanks
Wow! I've been trying to find an intermittent hydraulic leak on my left pump on my Wright Sentar for a month. I think you just explained my problem! That's the exact area I've been zeroing in on. Thank you! Do you know what the O ring specs are besides inside/outside dimensions?
Get the serial number off your mower. Go to parts.wrightmfg.com/search/ enter you serial number and go to the engine deck page. It shows the belt routing picture. Thanks
I saw a place on ebay search "eaton 771 rebuild" says they can make the hydrostatic part like new. The don't do any repair on the planetary or final drive parts. Thanks
I went to a local u pull yard. I found good doors, front fenders and cut out rocker panels and floor from a solid truck with a bent frame. If you check earlier videos on "Rusty" you can see what I started with and the parts I got. Thanks
Why do you think the replacement carb wasn’t accepting gas? I’ve got the same issue right now on my ‘52 that won’t start. It’s a brand new replacement carb (like yours) and I’ve got fuel coming out of the line but for some reason the bowl remains dry. It’s really got me feeling pretty stupid. It took me about a week to get over my embarrassment just to post this question
I got the carburetor from the video. I'll take it apart to see what I find. I can video the disassembly and inspection to see if I can find the answer. Thanks
Thanks for taking the time to make this video. I was looking at a mower like this on marketplace, and wanted to see how all the electric start stuff works. Can tell that big ole cat loves you.
I don't have any 8n tractors here currently to repair. The only time I have had a vapor lock type of issue was when the exhaust manifold was leaking and exhaust was blowing on the carburetor causing the vapor lock symptom. The carb. would get hot enough to cause the gas to boil in the carb. I hope this helps you out. Thanks
The cable in this video is Toro part # 119-2389 just to make sure did you look behind the door you lift to put the bagger on. There should be a white tag on the left side. Thanks
I did not! Thanks for the tip on where to look. I went ahead and ordered a cable that should fit. You had the only video I could find with a mower just like mine! Thanks!
I always use the Seadoo oil. I know it is expensive but it is cheap compared to an engine overhaul. There may be another oil that might be ok I just don't feel the savings is worth the gamble. Thanks
If you can pull the oil supply line off the tank and keep it up high so you don't allow all the oil to run out of the hose you should not have to bleed the system. If that line does lose all it's oil there is a bleed screw on the pump to release air between the pump and tank.
Hi. Currently I do not have access to a 225. If I get one in for service I can see if they want the hydro fluid and filter changed. When I drain the oil on those I put a drain pan under the filter for the hydro fluid and drain it there. I have always refilled with Grasshopper OEM fluid. Thanks
These Toro's are used almost every day. He is one of the few lawn service guys that cater to the customer who does not want a large mower on their lawn. He will even bag the grass. If you think that sounds foolish you should see what people will pay for this service. He makes a great living taking care of those customers.
