Production dates went from 1930 to ~1936 as production ceased due to efforts focusing on production to military and war support by Savage. I own one, but not in near as good shape as this one. Mine still shoots and works.
The new ones have a safety, and fiber optic sights front and rear, pretty nice. The one I got is pretty accurate and decently powerful for the backyard. I really like it for the price, all wood and steel, not bad.
I'vevgot the same problem, thiough it hasnt failed yet. I have a suspicion it may have been caused in my case by both vauge instructions and a make do "Glock Tool" the first time I pressed it "Down/Back" the first time I took the pin out.
In my own case, I hadn't yet taken down the sleeve, this occurred by itself. However, I understand others have had this issue as you stated. For myself, the Farrowtech sleeve solved my problem.
@TACNERD1 I understand 👍. I would have sent the pistol in to Glock for a free new *_firing pin sleeve._* 3 years later, there have been no other videos describing your issue with the plastic sleeve, so... I would say your sleeve was defective - the plastic or air bubbles 🫧 (who knows). I would not think your issue is common - maybe you are just unfortunate 🤔
Just keep the original parts and install the new parts and if you need a warranty repair replace the old parts and tell them you didn’t install the one Glock sent. Problem solved, I just ordered an aluminum sleeve from EBAY. When it comes in I’ll install it. Just saw this was 3 years ago and the aluminum sleeve wasn’t available, sorry.
The back plate is not listed as fitting the G44. Can you confirm it’s fitted and working as it should? Thanks. We have strike Industries here in the EU so can order direct. Thanks.
It fits but I wouldn't get it. It broke a couple weeks after I bought it. The polymer ones are junk, I understand they have a metal version now, maybe that's better but I just went back to the stock backplate.
I think a single or double barrel 12 or 10GA. Shotgun with a 18 to 21 inch barrel and a 3 inch Magnum a 3 1/2 can be a little much for most people who have not fired one and insert s for 12ga,20ga,410ga,45LC,357mag./38spL.,30-30,30-06,45/70Govt.,32/40 and a high capacity .22LR auto pistol with a long barrel6 inches or more like a Ruger MKII and I my self whoud get the longer adapters
Survival shotguns have always been a thing since the invention of the shotgun. Not to bag on your video but Dave made videos on what a woodsman or survivalist would carry. He’s been an inspiration to many people
Glock owners routinely take the pistol apart for cleaning and put the pistol back together. What you were told by the Glock Customer Service, those Glock owners potentially voiding the warranty of their guns?
I believe they felt that this was not a user-serviceable part. Either way, I solved the issue with a Farrow Tech sleeve. Which probably also voids the warranty lol.
It's the stock spring. The issue was the construction of the striker which would jam into the spacer sleeve. Glock seems to have done a stealth fix. Older 44s can be fixed with the farrow tech aluminum sleeve.
@@TACNERD1 Great to hear brother! I've had my full sized M&P 40 2.0 for a couple of years now. It's been great. Handles the 40 S&W really well and has been reliable. I just got the 40C. and really appreciate your review and update, even though you moved on to a different gun. God bless you and yours!
Jonny glocks has installed a 4.0 pound striker spring in his and claims to still have 100 percent reliability. No light strikes and less wear on the striker sleeve.
How's this dangerous? I don't see how it'd get worse being its inside the hole. You would have pressed the spring back instead of the spacer to relieve tension on the back plate then you can remove it.
The main things I would do is add a fishing kit and swap the adaptor for the short lane stack and pack adaptors that can allow you to shoot 20ga, 410/45 colt, and 22lr in your shotgun. The stack and pack kit just makes more sense if you have to scavenge over 38.
