A lot of other jr mains (like myself) have pointed out some very helpful use cases, but what about ivysaur neutral b being the worst since its basically a worthless move
Hmmm, that might be a contender ngl. I think it's close between those 2, I'd still say Cannonball because Ivy neutral b leads to more damage and has better frame data but they're both really bad. Thanks for your comment!
so cannonball does definitely have some uses in neutral/soft advantage since you can follow behind it for added pressure, like a budget tjolt. Still bad but definitely not useless
I dunno about neutral in a lot of cases but soft advantage I can see your point, it's not a useless projectile but just a really bad one in my opinion. Thanks for your comment
Hey man. I love the video. Massive respect for choosing to make videos on smash ultimate even though it is not a big game. As a small content creator, I know how tricky it can be, and I honestly hope you continue to grow and make great content.
Not a competive player but I find stuff like this interesting to watch I'm a jr main but even as a casual jr main I find this move hard to land and this video makes it worse Good video Also while I'm a jr main I'm mostly a plant main I'd like to see what you think about ptooie if you haven't made a video on it already
Hey, thanks for your comment. Funnily enough I secondary Plant while maining Jr and there's a video about Plant in the works! Ptooie isn't the only subject I cover in the video but a good amount of the video is covering ptooie, these videos do take me a lot of time due to the editing it requires but I'll publish it as soon as it's finished.
@@Chill-Noob1 oh that's a fair argument, however I believe Fox laser is good for forcing characters to approach along with his reflector this is especially really good in the context of Fox being a rushdown character that really likes fighting up close. It's not an amazing projectile by any means but I do believe it's better then Cannonball. Thanks for your comment!
As someone who actually plays bowser junion I completely dissagree, it has a large variety of uses and is actually quite good. It is used for covering space and for being used with his down b to cover a lot of space
Well I understand your point about it covering space you usually get punished for using it due to the terrible frame data it has, but if you can find a use for it good on you, thanks for the comment!
I still use it because I’m a masochist. Also I remember that one clip where hbox got his shield broken by the canon ball and he died instantly. Great video btw, enjoyed it :)
Huh, that's actually really interesting. I didn't note that as it's not really a part of competitive smash ultimate but that's cool to know, thank you!
What's even crazier is that this move was significantly buffed since sm4sh. It was just completely unusable. At least now it falls earlier so it can cover some really weird recovery angles that most other characters couldn't really contest
it might be true that the move is the worst Projektile but, it has more (situational) usage. As example: in Disadvantage off stage, you can charge and fire it to hit the opponent or at least make it easier to recover. in Advantage if your opponent is trying to recover, you can jump above the ledge and charge it. the you release it right next to the ledge and you will shot the cannonball and ledge-cancel the move. The move is also good to force the Opponent to recover more Obvious or it can lead to make him use one of his resources (jump as an example) or even in a kill cuz they normally don't know when it comes down. The move has it usage, even if it's kinda niche.
Other good thing me when you get hit very hard, you throw the cannon ball up and then falls down. It uses to mantain on distance to your oponnent when you try to recover. But you are right in everything else.
Other bad projectiles could Ne Diddys peanut gun just does not really do anything. Even as fully charged, it takes a lot of frames and the damage output is not good. Not to mention that his Banana projectile heavely outshines it. Unpopular opinion but I really dont like Jokers projectiles are that good if Arsend is not active. His Guns does not even shot far at all, does not flinch the target. And Joker is already fast anyways so he should just approach his enemies. Even though his other attacks are not that good or strong either. Had Joker not had his Arsend mecanic, he could have easily been a low Tier like Ganon.
I’m a Ludwig and Hero main. The canon ball is insane when wanting to rule over space. Take the Mecha koopa and side be. A bonus is if you follow the canon ball and then continue up air or up throw Mechakoopa forcing them to come down among all projection while you run over them
If you can set it up correctly it's alright but 9/10 times you get punished for using it, especially offline. Side B is really good and mecha koopa is also quite a good move but I personally consider cannonball much worse than those 2 moves
Bro, you always complain about the game and call it "okay" and now this????? The incapability to make choises is crazy. (Not hating btw we're friends lol).
the biggest issue on the game is the monetisation and that pushes away players after a week of playing you can get a 3 characters quite fast, but then it's SUCH A LONG GRIND calling the monetisation "meh" is complimenting the living fuck out of it
Yes 100%, I'd low-key play the game competitively if it had better monetisation and slightly faster and more exciting gameplay. And you're right, calling it meh is an understatement lmao, I just wanted to be positive in the video but later I talk about why it's actually awful like 250 euros/dollars to unlock every character dude like wtf
Agreed, I think with all of Brawlhallas gamemodes and the mechanics being simple the game is better casually, the skill-luck ratio depends on the gamemode, the standard mode that's used in competitive play is skill based for sure and it has a good ranked system but there's plenty of options for casuals as well and I prefer playing it casually as I already got other fighting games to improve at. Thanks for your comment!
In game design terms, it's how big a character's ledge grab box is in relation to the character's model size and/or animations, and how it can look wonky. It's essentially animation jank where it looks like a character definitely shouldn't have grabbed ledge due to an animation, but grabs it anyway, usually in a very abrupt fashion, making it look like a character's hands just shot up to a ledge like they have magnets on their hands. TL;DR : its when a ledge grab box and certain animations don't line up, making it snap to ledge like a character has magnets for hands.
I'm a Jr. main, it's not even close to worst. its very helpful for edgeguarding because the hitbox is out for a while and is pretty big, and remains active when it falls so it can hit opponents below the stage. It does a lot of damage to shields so it can be used into baiting your opponent into jumping over it, which is very predictable.
I understand why you'd think that, but usually we can't even punish the opponent for the jump directly due to the end lag that cannonball has so you have to predict what they land with which is a lot harder especially cuz most landing aerials are extremely hard to punish. But that's just my opinion on it, thanks for the comment
I feel like in a vacuum maybe but Dedede can still inhale his gordo for mix-ups and it has much better frame data. Either way both projectiles are pretty bad haha
