I like cars, futbol/soccer, tennis, snowboarding, bmx, skateboarding, guitars, eyeballs (I'm an eye doctor by trade). And I occasionally upload some videos.
Did mostly work. I fixed the crazy switching. However, the video needed a closer shot of the final step. There were a couple of things that you could pull loose, so I fixed the initial problem, but messed up the backing camera.
@@jimfclayman did you forget to plug one the plugs back in? The ones prior to getting to the module...I think one of them might be responsible for the screen turning on the back up camera when the car is placed in reverse
@@steveostiguy9519 no it does not shut off when you open the door. After you get in you just have to place your foot on the brake pedal for a second or two and the key fob takes over and you drive away normally. So obviously need to have the key fob in the car with you
I was at Mazda today and mentioned a fix, where they would disconnect the touch screen. They wanted 90mins of labor to do it… I’m glad I found your video! Much appreciated 🙏🏼
Pleased to report that this worked like a charm for my 2017 Mazda 6! The method for the 2017 is definitely a little more complicated and requires more disassembling. I also had to disconnect the plug for the start button which was quite unnerving. In order to access the ribbon, you have to open upon the screen entirely as in, remove the front plastic portion from the back plastic panel. At that point, the correct ribbon lines up with the plugs as shown in the video. It was easy to reassemble. I have exorcised my ghost!
Hi guys just did it today 22/09/2024 for those with mazdas 2014-2016 is very easy, what helped me a lot was that i bought some tools same like those that dentists use to scrap teeth! because removing that foil thing for the touch screen is a bit tricky!
In my case the Mazda tweaks has been installed and touch screen use not limited to stationary. It was sold back in 2018 (2014 model) as having android auto installed which the car yard couldn't verify as they had an iPhone. Turns out it was the unofficial tweaks one! This new feature is a welcome addition 😢 Just like the amount of condensation inside the headlights which in the past has caused it to fail a WOF (a yearly inspection of basic road worthiness in NZ)
hi buddy, thanks for the video. I have one question ( i dont know if this ir normal), after instalation everithing works well, but informations on the dashboard is different, is showing full tank of gas and 700 km range, yesterday i had around 450 km range. and the radios and other configurations just reseted to factory settings. is this normal? maybe because had to remove the battery? thanks
Very helpful video. The troubleshooting with the auto window issue was very helpful. I completed the install in less than 30 min and saved over 350 dollars.

@@EMAZINGERIK yeah they can get stuck in pretty good sometimes. It's like any other plugs, there's the little clip to press in and keep pressed in while pulling apart. Patience and perseverance
My mazda3 2014 screen had started acting up this summer. Much worse over this last week. I never use the touch screen but the damn thing makes me want to punch it. I'm going to do this when I have time thanks
@@ArmanM-u4j unfortunately no. Lots of people on here and the forums have tried it and it did not work as it's a physical problem with the screen. Same happened with mine, I ended up then replacing the screen with a new one (different video).
Is it possible for you to add a video or photo of how you routed the module to the fuse box. I just ordered this and it would really help me out. Thank you
@@DeronFriday-f1k with the wires not plugged to the module just route them behind the plastic on the bottom/side, you just feed them through and connect the module afterwards. Super easy.
2016 Mazda 3 Grand Touring here; this works thank you; was having trouble repairing my iPhone to it today 24Aug2024… this was a game and life saver for me… 🙏 so much!!!!! New Subscriber!!!!
@@mimtechno1931 it just uses the car's regular key fob. Nothing changes the range. So the same range that your key fob has to lock and unlock your doors. PS The range shrinks with low batteries.
The screen seems not available from the links provided in the Description section. I wanted to post a new link under my original comment but RU-vid kept deleting that, not sure why. So if you want to buy a replacement screen for Mazda 3 CX-3 MX-5 2014 2015 2016 you have to search online with the keyword " K40005A29F ". Please read the listing carefully before you order.
@@radieyevanov yes, same for me, I just need longer range to start the car from inside my job site (big parking lot) instead of going outside when it hits -35C , would have been great if there was plug in play for long range
Thank you for your info!! Any vids on the radio interference? Got the radio to work where as before there was nothing. I had to do the reset steps. But have static radio interference. My screen is also cracked or has spider cracks on it. I can’t do the elaborate steps I’m not good with electronics so I’m stuck here 🙃
@@radieyevanov are you sure? I saw after starting the car with the remote and if you then press on the unlock button it shuts down car.. they said it's a safety feature.
@@naushadmahomed6919 well mine does not. The safety feature is that you can not take control of the car or put it in gear unless you enter with the key fob inside the car and press and hold the brake pedal to initiate normal vehicle operation. I bought mine a long time ago though. If the company has changed the programming I don't know. You can reach out to them directly but for the one that is currently installed and functioning in my car it does not do that. When you say you saw that it shuts off what do you mean? You saw a comment by somebody or you witnessed it do this on your own car after having the remote start installed?
Good video that clearly demonstrated how to replace the touchscreen in my Mazda 3. It really helped to be warned about what a pain it would be getting the old screen off.
