The title said that you were pulling a broken case! Doesn't looks broken to me when you had the primer pocket to drill through! Try one that gets stuck in the die and has head separation leaving the upper portion of the case stuck in the die!

The small one I got from a craft store. It is used for candles. I put a roll of carbon felt in it. Usable flame is about 7 min (just enough to cook some bacon and eggs for one person). Burnout was about 10-11 min and used about 1/4 OZ alcohol roughly. I just fill it with all I can fit into it usually. Not very scientific but looking for how it works first not so much how long it lasts at this point. My next one has a 1/4" copper tube in the middle with a hole in the bottom of the container ending just above the carbon felt (rolled, not discs). Both ends flared on the tube. Bottom flare to allow air to more easily enter the tube. Top flare is to reduce air velocity and perhaps mix more air into the vapors - a sort of Bernoulli Effect in a way. Theory is that it will allow some thermal feedback and more oxygen to the center of the flame column making it a more efficient burn. Don't want a blow torch alcohol stove... Still waiting for the JB Weld to cure before testing. Will test with and without the carbon felt. $25 for that stove? And YOU get to drink the beer as a bonus? :wink:

1) Why don't you de-paint the surfaces before assembly? 2) Can these bottles be cut with a razor knife? By scoring them, I mean, like you can do with drink cans.
@FIS681
@FIS681 4 года назад
I've been able to cut the bottom off by scoring with a razor just like when making penny stoves, however, I've not found that to work on either of the cuts at the neck of the bottle.

I followed these instructions. My jets light pretty quick, less than a minute, but the flame dies when I place a pot on it. Not sure the air vents you put on the top are getting though the liquid fuel to keep the gas lit.

I've made dozens of these since I first saw your video years back. Of course Budweiser changed the cans ever so slightly in a way that makes the stoves a little flimsier. But we use them up in the mountains to boil water and they work great!! Many thanks for the instructions and inspiration!

Don’t you mean aluminium.
@desktorp
@desktorp 5 лет назад
No. ALCOA is the third largest Aluminum corporation in the world and have the widest variety and most specialized grades of Aluminum in the world, and is the oldest Aluminum corporation on the planet with roots dating back as far as 1886 to Charles Martin Hall, who invented the Hall-Heroult process which kickstarted the aluminum industry to grow what we know today. On all bars of ALCOA aluminum its marked very clearly in all caps and in bold lettering ALUMINUM - ALCOA - 6061 or whatever numeralized grade at the end. Considering that ALCOA is the oldest Aluminum corporation on the planet, and by far most sophisticated being the only aluminum corporation on the planet to manufacture the higher grades of aircraft aluminum, I think they know what the fuck they are doing.

Good kit for minor wounds sir. In my opinion though, the boo boo stuff can always be delegated to a larger bag because you will always have time to access it. On you, I would recommend things for life threats that you would not have time to go to another bag to treat. I would personally recommend a SWAT Tourniquet (which is a tourniquet by itself, and can also function as the triangular bandage you have), QuikClot for life threatening bleeds where you cannot apply a tourniquet, the duct tape you already have to improvise chest seals, a pair of gloves, a CPR Shield for rescue breaths and some decon wipes. All of this actually would fit into the size you are looking for, although it would be heavier, but your capabilities would actually be lifesaving, not just for convenience. For the QuikClot, you could go with Combat Gauze, or you could go with the smaller version of their Bleeding Control Dressing, which is half the size. A Celox Rapid Ribbon would also be good if you prefer Celox over QuikClot.

I think you did a great job describing the stove build. The design does have a few problems I think though. It takes ages for the jets to start pushing out vapour, so you're wasting fuel before you put your pot on. There's a cold spot in the centre, so the surface area of a small pot that's actually being heated is very small. You might want to check out my design which can heat a pot from the moment it's lit, and has no central cold spot. ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-DcUKaHoYEUU.html

If you're having trouble stretching the can bottom, that's used to curl the top of the stove, try taking the paint off of the inner can with fine steel wool, then use extra fine steel wool to polish it very smooth. Next take the polymer safety coating off of the inside of the outer can, that you're trying to stretch, with the steel wool and polish it smooth. The paint and polymer coating are seizing up. Put a vent hole in the bottom of the outer can so a vacuum doesn't form when you insert the inner can. Then use some Molybdenum Grease, referred to as "Moly," on both cans. That stuff is slicker than owl s***!

You must insulate it with a non-conductive material. Cardboard works well.

Thank you for the video. One thing I like to do with the oatmeal is buy several fruit varieties - like strawberries and cream, peaches, banana, blueberries and cream as well as the apple cinnamon. (Walmart sells them all in one box) Then, I add fruit to them - raisins to the apple, flavored cranberries (cherry, etc) to the peaches and strawberry and diced figs to the blueberry. Banana chips go great with the banana. You can add your own fruit preferences - like apricots, mango, pineapple. The dried fruits add lots of trace minerals, energy and fiber. As well as improving the flavor. I also make a little slit in each little paper bag of oatmeal, insert a small funnel, and pour in a Tablespoon of chia seeds. Lots of essential fatty acids, etc. And they soak up any extra water and make a nice texture. I put a piece of clear tape over the slit and then package them in whatever size pkgs I need. YUM. That Land O' Lakes cocoa you showed is super-delicious. They also make a white chocolate variety!! NOTHING like warm cocoa to boost the spirits. GREAT IDEA - again, thank you.

Made one very similar. Has the extra propane bottle, cook pot set, 100' of rope, 8x10 tarp, n food. Only thing I would change is no cliff bars. I find them absolutely nasty in taste and texture. Would add dried onion, garlic n flavorings. Love my spices. Can toss it in the car with bag and stuff kept in car n get my butt gone. Wish more people would realize it doesn't have to be the end of the world to need one of these. Crap n Mother nature happen.

Hello, great video. I've been trying to make one of these. I am on my fifth attempt now... trying to make the rolling piece has been a bear! The piece to roll the tops keeps just getting stuck on the bottom of the beer can I am using to stretch the roller piece out. Every one has been lightly sanded along the inside of the rim and cleaned. I have tried drilling a hole in the center of the bottom, not drilling, and have used ample amounts of WD-40 every time. What am I doing wrong? Thanks for any help you can offer.
