I liked the original more...i can get it to sound close to the reloaded. I use a dark amp and the original just opens it up . And I love using it on low gain as well. Just a great pedal. Plus it's totally a different beast on 18v. The fizzines goes away and you get clearer distortion.
Don't like none of the two. I am disappointed. I believed the reloaded sounded good, but... terrible. I have a JHS Andy Timmons and till now no pedal is better than this. I am glad to have found this great pedal, but i'm looking for other ODs, just for fun and try something new.
MrOzgooner I wouldn’t say transparent. It is based off the tube screamer but still different. You can get this drive for pretty cheap compared to other ones and I think it still is in my top 10. If you’re looking for transparent I’d try the barber gain changer or the Timmy. Possibly even the morning glory.
genuine question. Is this guitar neat in tune? I had a guitar sent from a retailer abroad, and I sent it back "feeling" it wasn't able to stay in tune for open chords, like a 1st position E. But now this demo reminds me of the sound of my guitar I thought it was off tune. Maybe I just get too "delicate"? cheers
I've been thinking about getting a Horizon Precision drive. I have a Cratebv150 I never played it without a Boss GT8 running through it Last night I plugged straight in ,just to see ....... My amp is Amazing! But needs to be driven at times ,no more GT8. A guy has one for sale here in San Diego, says he wants $90
your 100% percent right on the amp thing on my jtm 45 its great on my fender its to fluby in the bass it depends on the amp although there is no miids on my fender so a eq pedal would fix that
I liked your comparison. You started out with the pedals set to have an equivalent sound, and it was obvious to me that the Riot Reloaded has a significant boost in the lower frequencies. I just bought the Riot, but I got a great deal, so I am disappointed. I do think I prefer the EQ structure of the Riot Reloaded based on this video, though.
Im glad you did the video but the comparison wasnt very accurate because you compared the pedals at different settings from eachother. You would have the tone at 2 o clock on the riot and then switch to the reloaded with the tone at 10 o clock. Both sound great though.
Hello Everybody, Can the Avalanche Run produce the same atmospheric, reflective, cinematic ambience as the Afterneath. Or is the Afterneath still unique at what it does. Many thanks.
Hey, I got the Afterneath and am mostly likely getting the Avalanche Run next month. Honestly the Afterneath is impossible to replicate in my opinion. It is amazing and excels every other pedal in what it does. I've seen a video where someone stacks like 20 delays and at one point it just starts sounding like the Afterneath. It's fantastic for huge ambient waves and texture, and also crazy oscillations if you tweak the drag knob (super neat feature). Both pedals do different things, Afterneath being a very specific delay-verb and the Avalanche Run being a versatile mixture of delay and reverb and pushing in some rather less conventional settings like reverse and swell. Hopefully this is of any help, feel free to shoot me up with any questions you may or may not have.
The first 3/4's of the demo was for people who never used a delay or reverb pedal before...if you know how to use them you can skip towards the end for a partial demo of it's special features.
Haha I've been wondering the same. This and the el cap have similar features so maybe I'll do a comparison. Don't have a blue sky but I could see this thing replacing both of those pedals. The el cap is still an amazing pedal though
Would love to see it used with a blue sky. I just got a blue sky, and I am thinking about getting this (Primarily for the delay). If I end up getting it I might see if I can find a few minutes to post my own video comparing the two for their reverb functions.
