Hiiiiiii!!!! I'm a writer as well. I'm currently taking an undergraduate course in English and Literature but I look forward to doing an MFA in Creative Writing, so you can imagine how excited I was to see your video!!! You're so pretty! Subscribing right away! ❤
I might talk a little bit about accomodation in upcoming videos, but to give you a short answer, it's not so hard finding an apartment here. There are several listings on sites like Zillow and Craigslist. The MFA is fully funded and you're guaranteed a stipend every semester.
Thank you Audrey for this video. It was a great help and insight into the journey of just applying for MFA programs! 🤣 I subscribed to your channel in the hope that there will be more guidance as I look for the right location, program and institutional support for the outcome I am seeking. peace. 😌🙏🏽🙏🏽🙏🏽🙏🏽🩵
I’m in the science field. I have always had a desire to write professionally. I have written private fiction works with themes around the slave trade but never published them anywhere. Do you think I stand any chance in applying for an MFA?
Oh definitely! It's great that you have experience. Like I said, I'd recommend publishing something if you can, just for your credentials. However I know people in the program who didn't even have any prior publications.
Great question. From speaking with others, it seems 3-5 might be a good average. People definitely do more though. I personally applied to only Iowa because I only had money for one application fee LOL
Thank you so much for sharing!!! This video was so insightful. I am a bit confused about one of the requirements for the IOWA’s writers workshop…. It says we have to mail physical copies of our application as opposed to submitting online, how did you get past this requirement?
This video was made for me. It’s been really difficult trying to get back into MFA applications after declining [a good] one last year (funding reasons). But this gave me some vim so thank you very much!
