I think in Ghana especially there’s so much pressure on ‘finishing hard’ that we don’t take care of ourselves in the process, not necessarily because we don’t want to, but sometimes we just can’t. It’s good to take a break, so you don’t have to ‘finish hard’ but rather do so on your own terms, in a manner that won’t be detrimental. Also side note: your locs are thriving😍

It is always amazing to see that we don't know what other people are going though. I mean you will think that creatures that were made to live in group will have some means to know how other people are doing without looking at the external. What do you see when you look? I would have loved to do this Audrey. My mental health was on a sharp decline…but luckily vacation was 6 months and afterwards the strike happened. So I’ve had time to prioritize myself and shed off a lot responsibilities that took up too much energy, time and mental space. It was so so draining. It was even showing in my physical state that I was so drained. It was not easy though, especially when it came to disappointing people. But I had to put myself first, make time for ‘me time’, my relationship with God,…just to breath! I learned the hard way that I really can’t give what I don’t have. There are people who won’t understand but you’ve got to do what you’ve got to do.

Lol this reminds me of that conversation with my Dad on that KUMASI to Sunyani highway telling him I needed a break and got denied. Fast forward I have now taken a break to work on my music and it's been an amazing journey but it's not been rosy. I think the best decision to make for yourself is to take a break and reflect.
