Hi there! I'm a Realtor with Keller Williams Ardmore in Southern Oklahoma. I'm from Alaska originally, but my hubby's job has had us traveling all over the states. We ended up in Oklahoma a few years ago. It's grown on us, so much so, my parents moved here too! Tune in as I share my adventures with you as I learn to be an Oklahoman. From places to visit, eat, events & the lingo, I will cover it all, the good, the bad & the ugly. New videos each week. To make it easy on you, just hit that subscribe button so you won't miss out on any antics in the great state of Oklahoma. I say that, but Alaska IS the biggest state in the US. I argued with a Texan on this. 😑 My 411: cell (580)224-1077 email shesser@kw.com website hesserrealestatesales.kw.com office 1521 N Rockford Rd, Ardmore OK 73401 facebook.com/profile.php?id=61554213435492 instagram.com/hesserrealestatesales/ www.linkedin.com/in/stacey-hesser-b1ab06124/
You were so cute when you were talking about mobile homes, lol. I used to live in one, but I like a challenge and bought a trash heap and gutted it and made it look amazing. Added a nice deck, and had it appraised and sold it along with the property around it (5 acres) and had a lot of interest. But I am a fixer upper type, so there ya go. One thing I wonder about in OK is if Rain water catchment is allowed, or is well permitting required? What about septics? Can we have one designed and then do the work ourselves after the perq test?
As a 52 year old man from rural Oklahoma, using the bathroom in the yard is something I grew up with, it saves water and was just normal. As for neighbors, my closest neighbors were around 7 miles away but they would always help with anything we needed. Neighbors in rural Oklahoma will help with just about anything.
One thing I've noticed when I moved to Oklahoma is that once a year, in my little town of Morris Oklahoma, they have twister days to commemorate the twister that leveled the town back in the '80s.
Maybe Nana said Buggy to us in the 70s, but certainly not in the 21st century. Putt Putt was a national chain from North Carolina, again, not around in OK since the 70s. Sweet tea is an abomination, bless its heart. Good info in the panhandle!
@@RealtorInOklahoma I believe when I stated "it's southern" and you were talking about super sweet tea I meant to include Oklahoma. However if you get technical Oklahoma is Southern just not "deep south" . Geographically anyways.
You are not looking at per capita statistics. Del City is by far the most violent city in Oklahoma. The City of Del City does NOT report all violent crime that happens to its citizens. The Mayor, City Inspectors and police department are all corrupt. DCPD are the Keystone Cowards of law enforcement, They do not concern themselves with trying to keep the peace. They will allow things like drive by shootings to go uninvestigated. I had a police officer tell me after a drive by shooting that they will not investigate because no one was hit or killed, even though there was a small child in the vehicle that was being shot at. Ardmore is probably at the top of the list because they are reporting honestly. Del City has no quality of life. They don't even provide sidewalks to their schools, much less the rest of the town, and don't care to provide them for the safety of it citizens. There is a reason why home prices in Del City are less than the surrounding areas. Don't take the bait. Midwest City is by far the better choice in the east OKC area. Choctaw is even better still.
Thank you so much for your input! Yes!!! I was shocked to learn how easy it was to skew stats. It definitely comes down to human input at some point, which makes it difficult to truly compare apples to apples. I appreciate your comments!
Ardmore is probably a great place to live but in 2024 and by end of 2025 1400 people will lose their job. And this will impact the global economy of the city. Michelin's tire manufacturing facility in Ardmore, Okla., will close by the end of 2025.
I appreciate you watching. I have about twenty other videos discussing all the reasons you SHOULD live here. I’d love your inout on what I highlighted in them. 😃
Okay, born and raised in Oklahoma, I grew up around the Ardmore area yes itis dangerous. anywhere you go, it's dangerous . it's worse in the dfw metroplex area the homeless population is due to everyone pricing themselves out of a job that isthe number one reason why all states have become dangerous
Welcome to Oklahoma!!!! UTV, off road vehicle, 4-wheeler. This is from an Alaskan that calls snowmobiles snow machines. We go snow machining up there. 😂 Thank you so much for watching. 💕
I don't know where you are in the state of Oklahoma. But I have never seen a vehicle parked at a gas pump that the owner was inside the gas station payin for gas. And I have never heard an Oklahoman call a motorized vehicle a buggy. And David Payne sucks as a meteorologist!!!! David Payne should have stayed a storm chaser. Gary England should have stayed broadcastin the weather. Hell yeah we love watchin the weather.
@mollyprysunka7741 dang!!! That’s an area of the state I haven’t been able to explore much. I miss the water, but not the cold off the water. 🥶😉 It is pretty nice to hop in the car & go places though. Thanks for watching!!
