Yah It's A good little amp and one of the most popular practice amps out there, however I still like the Fender Champion 40 better with all it's amp settings and effects that it has. Also If you buy the 2 button footswitch for the Fender Champion 40, it even becomes better switching between the 2 different channels.
Vox amps are traditionally kind of trebly, but that is also the case with a Telecaster. Maybe the treble range works better when playing a Les Paul? Too bad they discontinued the Pathfinder 15 R, that seems like the perfect practice amp.
I think you are doing the test so bad and unfair. for example, the clean tone, you give the eq on vox 90% bass with slightly less treble and on boss katana its slightly less bass and more mid and treble. I dont get how does it makes sense for a sound test. Doesn't seem fair to me. I believe it does mislead the people comments
@@5MinuteMusic Yes, I understand. I mean, it's not necessary to be a flat eq. You can set the eq different, but not like setting one with 90% bass 0 treble and one with 90% treble and 0 bass. The point I'm trying to say is to keep the tendency more consistent. And sure, setting all of them to 5 is more fair, but it will make all of them sound bad also.
I have PRS DGT which is known for warm sound like Gibson. I prefer melodic tone from Strat so I will turn down base and middle and turn up the treble. It is still not bright enough but i think that is how eq needs to be adjusted according to this lesson.
@@mahdi.moghanlo2687 yeah I bought yamaha c40 from yamaha official site distributor.. If you want to buy original you have buy from yamaha official site. Don't buy from any shop or in used condition.. Totally scam ok..

I just purchased the fender champion ll 50, I'm guessing t newest take on the champion range, based on your recommendation of the 40. I hope it sounds just as good.
Hi I only use this Amp to sing only Karaoke, noticed have it for some time now over a year A hissing sound is occurring any thing I need to get or add to eliminate this sound
Nice to see an honest vid like this. Waiting on this vox and have a Fender champr20 … all for a Gretsch electro. No worries for me about crisp or crunch.. just looking for how deep I can take a clean. Total amp Noob, 1st elect. After 30 yrs w Martin dreads
Helped a lot. I don't need 100 effects that a model amp has and especially since I use cleans, the overdrive channel won't be a problem for me. Great review!
I put a Cannabis Rex in my Champion 40. Considerably louder overall. To my ears, the CRex is warmer, rounds off the tone, and tames the brutal ice pick top end from a Tele bridge pickup.
I have the correct roland adaptor and only get buzz with my tone up (squier tele contemporary rh - which is known to have grounding issues because of the black hardware)
About 4 years back I paid retail for a Champ 40. NOTE: the amp does NOT include the foot switch (P/N 0071359000). I finally took up the search for a foot switch and was pleased to find they're readily available on eBay and Amazon for a very reasonable price. My Champ 40 is a home amp that has enough oomph to manage a small gig space of 5-600 q ft. It's a real good gen purpose amp. I have a pedal board so I don't use a lot of the features, but that doesn't mean the offered features within the amp are lacking - it's just my pedal board has tons of sounds available. Summary: Worth the price.
