According to the Champion 20 manual, the "Reverb+CH" section of the of the FX dial has three different effects to choose from, depending on how far you turn the knob. Closest to the "OFF" position is "Reverb + Chorus". Turning the knob a little farther gives you "Reverb Hall", and turning it almost to the "Chorus" section gives you "Reverb Spring". So it seems that it is possible to get just the reverb, without chorus or delay, in two different flavors. I've got a Champion 40 coming tomorrow. Very excited.
I got this amp based on your vids... I love it, thank you! 2nd hand for 40 pounds, works great. Perfect for my practice needs in a tiny london studio flat with 5 close neighbours and prety thin walls. Was able to get my go to 90's brit pop/ post punk tone with just the amp. use the brit setting on red gain and volume on 2. my neghbours say they cant hear me practicing unless i sing, so does the job.
Great simple explanation on what you can do with even a simple amp like this. I myself picked up a little Fender Mustang a few years back at a cash house for about 50 bucks and it was in like new condition. I also got a free download of the Fender Fuse software that goes with it. Unfortunately Fender no longer supports the Fuse software. The Fuse Software has a butt load of amp models and effects pedals. The Fuse software loads on your computer and all the effects pedals come up on your monitor. You connect the computer to the amp with a USB cable and you can control the amp from your computer set up a custom amp and effects chain and save to memory on the amp. The amp comes with about 24 factory amp and effects presets but you can override them and load 24 of your own custom presets. The Mustang comes with a built in tuner. That was the best 50 bucks I ever spent. I've been playing with that amp and software for years and I still haven't gotten to the bottom of all the possible combinations. Don't know why Fender stopped supporting the Fuse software. To me it's the neatest thing since slice bread.
I’ve been experimenting with my MX5 headrush and o have been able to perfect many of Gilmour’s famous tones, from his early work with Floyd in 1970 to some of his solo work in 2024. It has a great Hiwatt amp model. I’ve also made a Gilmour Black Strat which helps. The Catlinbread echoerec is a must need for Gilmour’s delay. I use it for the early Floyd stuff.
By the way that P-90 neck would be perfect for the Another Brick in the Wall part 2 solo. He used a Gibson gold top with p-90s for that solo. You can achieve that tone aswell on a Champion 20.
Nice Tele , P90 must honk At 60 , have had sooo many classics over the years , but , these Squires , the right one , are Great And this amp is now a go to for me and my Supro lap steel
Got a fender champion 20 for practice when people are home marshall dsl 40 for when their not lol I actually love this Lil amp super loud for 20 watts keep the great content coming loving this DG setting 💯%
Thanks for a another great demo! And very cool for the Fender Champion amp. I have heard that Gilmour actually played a Gibson LP (w/ P90 pickups) on the original recording. Anyone else?
You might be right. I saw a video where Gilmour speaks about that guitar and it's use on The wall. Especially the solo on Another brick on the wall. The famous d minor solo we all love.
Hey thanks for the video I actually was the one too ask you for the tone and with the specific amp. This was like a year ago and I was in shock you made the video. Too bad my music taste changed now I like death metal. Funny how things change. but I finally got a video for it💪🏽
I wrote down the same settings but did it on my The Fender Champion 40. I also have a The Fender Champion 10 however, it does not have the same setup. My Champ 40 with the same setting sounds great! Thanks again. Keep them coming! Can you dial up some Eric Clapton sounds?
Thank you so very much. ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-QOXGXySitvw.html Have You Ever Loved A Woman 24 Nights. I really love the sound when he hit right at the 5 min mark.
I also have this amp. It's a crying shame there's no FX setting for just reverb but most of us probably do use reverb with a touch of chorus or phasing or delay. However, that was a bad commission on Fender's part. Not many reviewers make enough of the modelling. I find that levels vary incredibly when changing this setting but it's unlikely that anyone would want to fiddle with those during a performance. Thanks for the care and detail of your video. I have a Squier Thinline Tele and for your settings I also rolled off the guitar's tone control slightly to get a less brittle sound. Excellent job. 10/10. Bell rung ages ago.

Gotta try that, I am after canon rock tone. I think this is close but don't care as of now. I am using 11th option on the knob, Gain 4, Volume 3 because neighbors
I Ben used this amp since I got it of Christmas I have it setup for my guitars and one of my dad's bass guitar it is a great amp it one of my favorite amp I use I had other amps in the pass
It's not a bad amp at all but for just 80 dollars more you have the boss katana which can have 5 effects at the same time and even 3 delays and also fuzz, distortion, tube screamer, overdrives, phaser, rotary, acoustic sim, chorus and around 50 effects more
Greeat ! I've just bought this amp and was searching for a vídeo giving suggestions of settings to use for Comfortably Numb song and your video was a good answer to that. But I use a standard strato (no from Fender, but using the standard pick-up switch) and don't have the option to combine bridge and neck pick-ups. Do you have a clue on wich pick-ups I select and how do I set tone knobs for the selected pick-ups, using the settings you presented for Fender Champions 20?
I would start with the settings in the video, and test it with your guitar, going through each position of your pickup selector switch. Find the one that sounds the best to you, then adjust from there. You might have to add a little more gain (just a hunch).
Hey man great vid! But, do you know how to get that tone from “This Charming Man” by The Smiths on this amp? I’d appreciate it if you made a video about it:)
Hi I've been watching your videos, they've been very helpful thank you! I have a question: how to get rid of that 'pop' when turning off the champion 20❓ anyone has information about this to share?
Mine does it too and it's really annoying. The pop is usually much louder than the volume I was playing on. And no, at least on mine, turning the gain and volume down beforehand does not help.
Thanks for being open to suggestions, I'm afraid I came over a bit blunt for which I apologise, I was really interested to hear more of the tones of the amp. Regards Dave
My pleasure, and no apology is necessary. I will do more tone videos for this amp. If you have not subscribed, please do and hit the notification bell! You will then be notified when I do more tone videos for this amp!@@dozerblade
