Electrical Safety First is the UK charity dedicated to reducing deaths and injuries caused by electrical accidents. Our aim is to ensure everyone in the UK can use electricity safely
This is horrific 😢 Store them outside. My tenancy states that any type of mobility item with a battery cannot be kept inside of the property. The government needs to do more on regulating these items, as do websites such as ebay and Amazon should ban the sale of any unregulated batteries, bikes and scooters. This story broke my heart.
Oh wow, what can I say..? I do have to ask though, was the bike a reputable well known brand..? Some of the stuff imported from China etc. can be dodgy to say the least.
Legislation needs to change to include online seller/resellers like Amazon and ebay to only sell into the Uk, products that are Uk compliant in the same way uk high street shops
Definitely need more of these types of videos to keep people safe and not just for Christmas. Great work to everyone who has been involved with this 👏👏👍
And then I was taken to a mental health unit because nobody believed me when I said Charley could talk I've been here for about 50 years and they still don't believe me
The end user thinks that the description on Amazon and such sites is correct when infact a lot of the blurb about the product is/or could be a lie and may have life threatening consequencies. The average layperson does not understand about IP or IK rating. An IK rating is a two digit number used to provide an indication of a product’s resistance to damage from an impact. An IP rating are defined by the international standard. Generally is a two digit number used to provide an indication of a product’s resistance to ingress. IP actually stands for International Protection and not Ingress Protection.
What happened to BS kite mark or BS Conformity. I bet there is no BS number anywhere on that product and as such should not be sold anywhere in the UK by the likes of Amazon. The HSE need to get involved before deaths occur.
Oh yes, counterfeit electrical goods can be very faulty and they might catch fire very easily. That's why I NEVER attempted to buy any fake electrical goods. I shall always buy real genuine electrical goods from trusted companies such as Sony (Japan 🇯🇵), Samsung (South Korea 🇰🇷), Panasonic (Japan 🇯🇵), LG (South Korea 🇰🇷), JVC (JVCKENWOOD) (Japan 🇯🇵), Philips (Netherlands 🇳🇱), Microsoft (USA 🇺🇸), Apple (USA 🇺🇸), Lenovo (China 🇨🇳) and Siemens (Germany 🇩🇪). Fake electrical goods can be really cheap indeed.
