Your Companions tend not to, but Settlers do, whenever your settlement is under attack they will run and grab the Highest Damage weapons they can from ANY container they can reach as well as Power Armor IF there are Fusion core in or around the Armor
(1)why are you here? if all of you settles have 'GOOD" guns and DON'T steal why are you watching a Video tutorial on fixing that? (2) I don't feel like giving EVERY legendary weapon I OWN away because THAT is what they ALWAYS STEAL!! and for real YOU DON'T EITHER or you WOULDN"T BE HERE!!!! (3) THEY DON'T NEED THEM this I spent SO MUCH TIME and RESOURCES defending this settlement it is COMPLETELY WALLED OFF!!!! the only way in is the front gate and there are SO MANY TUIRRETS that NOTHING can get in far enough to threaten the settlers!!!! just to test I used console commands to spawn at least 10 MYTHIC DEATH CLAWS (the strongest in the game) and they still get wiped by the turrets before getting in to where the settle sleep and work so a few sorry raiders or super mutants stand ABSOLUTELY NO CHANCE
I keep all my legendaries in an upper-level apartment behind a switched door, as the settlers can't operate switches (to my knowledge). But, most importantly, I give all my settlers AWESOME SHIT. They've all got heavy combat armor (or better), an assortment of the highest damage common weapons (one melee, one high damage pistol, one ranged weapon, and an advanced shotgun) WITH plenty of ammo, and every settler has one stimpak (although I've never seen one used). There's also enough stimpaks for every settler stored in the workshop. I also have one set of T-60F power armor stored near every guard, and extras planted around for settlers who feel "patriotic." I think most importantly, though, my entire settlement(s) are walled to limit exposure, with limited points of entry. These openings are then heavy guarded with turrets from multiple directions/distances, making it very hard for all of them to be disabled by attackers. My Sanctuary site (300 defense) is large enough that my human guards rarely even notice attacks at the edges of town. I just go collect the loot when it's all over. There are certain spots where attackers spawn within some settlements, so I build walled "kill boxes" with turrets inside to keep them company until I get there to clean up. Finding the exact spot takes some trial and error. But damn, leaving a small gap is really stupid genius. I spend so much of my time trying to help settlers get around my chaotic structures, it never occurred to me to trick them into NOT using structures. If anybody uses this method, but doesn't want to hop over a gap, I've used rugs and floor mats many times to bridge problematic or not geometric spans, and I think the settlers also avoid them.
@GoTorino Yeah good Idea this Gap I used was small enough no jump was needed but, I eventually made a switched garage door setup for my place eventually but at the time (before Automaton DLC) it was a ball ache to make one that could open and close from the switch inside or switch outside without the computer module, it took a lot of wiring, and routing of the wire inside to outside, so even though my Garage door solution works, this was the MOST bare bones anyone with any build could do it solution
Is it really that big of a problem? I just check them every so often and take back key weapons, as I travel with my loadout and the other stuff is really just extra.
I keep all my gear in Home plate. Since ammo weighs nothing, I keep all that on my character. The only crap I keep in settlements are stuff I want the settlers to have access to. If I leave something in a settlement I don't want them to grab, I put it in a mailbox, trash can, etc. They never seem to bother those places.
I dunno, man. I have/had a personal treehouse home in Sanctuary Hills, and completely removed the only staircase access when i wasn't around to stop settlers from getting in and using my bed or raiding my locker of personal weapons. After work hours, before any of them went to the bar, they ALL hung out in a tight group below my home, many nights in a row, until suddenly they all managed to glitch themselves UP through the floors! My entire home was filled with them, and even I couldn't get in without adding the stairs back. These clowns can't step over that little gap you made, but they can fly through the air and through my floors up into my treehouse. WTF?
How do you find Clip Studio on android? I've got pretty much the same setup as you, but I use Infinite Painter instead. The yearly sub for clip kinda put me off it. but it does look pretty comprehensive.
I do LOVE using it on my Tablet FULLY FEATURED app just like desktop (you do need a good amount of RAM my tablet is RIGHT on the edge) worth the money for tablet use and desktop (not Phone), HiPaint is probably second and Infinite painter is 3rd ,ALL good apps though. If you have a Samsung with an S-pen I would HIGHLY grabbing a Wacom ONE stylus for $30 SO MUCH more comfortable to use and performs better AND has felt nibs as well as rubber and plastic VERY NICE UPGRADE. To find Clip Studio Paint I went on the Google play Store to find it. The subscription is cheap enough if you only use the base version on 1 or 2 devices, I think you need to have a some what modern version of Android, my Galaxy Tab 6s lite is Running version 13, My last phone was running version 6 and CSP was not available for it, My new S24 Ultra does have it but over all the Phone version's UI is a bit off so I will not be adding it to my subscription yet and, on the phone UI wise I think (1) is HiPaint, (2) is MediBang (3) is Infinite Painter
I ACTUALLY said that in the Video, but you obviously didn't watch, so why are you even here?, THIS method allows to just walk to your loot without, jumping, jet pack, opening electric, doors, Placing and replacing walls, or inconvenient Storage Placement
@@ocularcavity8412 did you? Well in that case I apologize. Didn’t mean to offend. Just trying to help. Anyway best wishes to you and I will absolutely take your advice.
If you mean floor safes they don't work, but if there are new safes added I haven't tried them, At the time I made this Video I do not believe anything other than floor safes were available. One thing I do know that works but it is kind of a pain to build is an electronic Doorway with a Double switch linked to both the inside and outside, I had to do that to my Downstairs to keep the NPC's from coming in and knocking over my carefully placed Toy Robots and Nuka Quantum Bottles, but I have no tested it during an attack yet so far the mutants/raiders haven't showed up in a LONG while
lol saddest part is the Video is 8 years old and it hadn't gotten any real traction until the last 2 or so years lol Leave it to RU-vid to bury things then randomly uproot them
I just wanted to know when Tinker tom stops sending me out. His pissing me off more than Preston at this point. I swear if he sends me out one more time im not going be responsible for dropping a hard R
@@tjthedj6871 This is a quote from the Fallout Wiki about the root cellar "The containers in the root cellar are safe to use for storage and do not respawn. The settlers in Sanctuary will not remove anything stored there, as they cannot travel through cell loading doors." If you have certain mods it may change things, but in a vanilla playthrough you should be safe 👍
I personally just have a settlement setup as my home with a bunch of robots farming (for the adhesive starch shit) They can’t take my shit, and I get free adhesive. Win win.
I keep my suits of power armor (I usually keep the fusion cores in the suits because taking out the fusion cores and placing them back in would be placing in new ones) at Nate's backyard so that Carla doesn't steal even when Sanctuary's under attack (even though I built walls and junk fences around Sanctuary to keep out raiders and gunners), I also didn't know that settlers can steal your weapons from your containers (I keep all my ammo in my inventory), I also built a prehab with sleeping bags for settlers so that they can stop sleeping in my bed but there's at least one who continues to sleep in my bed (she's a gardener).
I have no played in a couple years and I only played on PC but I was not able to literally lock the containers but once you properly break the pathfinder the AI should be unable to reach the just make sure you place the container far enough from the path break that they can not reach it
YEAH FOR REAL!!! The path finding for that mission is terrible and they never fixed it. I made this Video more than 6 years ago and it is still helping people and
You could use a normally closed relay or triac to lock firing when reloading. I’m currently using a nimh battery 9.6 volts stepped down to 7v with stock internals, I want to separate motors from the board but I’m still investigating because I don’t want to mess it up
the tricky part is where to place such a switch, where there is room and 2 where the dart feeding mech will trigger it ALL the way through the mag loading operation at least for now making a fail safe was the best i could do
Hey man, I like your setup, I know this video is old, but look thru my videos, i have a dope setup for cooling. Ur motor fan is decent, but this design is a little better.
