Hi,can you please tell me what you meant about the danger of burning one of the units out? I’m installing the AC300 setup straight to an interlock switch on my main panel. It will be for emergency power only and will never be charged while tied to the grid. I just want to make sure I don’t hurt anything.Bluetti hasn’t been a lot of help so far.

Great information,thank you. Question:I have the AC300 setup.Will be going straight into a rectangle box to the interlock in my main panel. I’ve read on the bluetti forum guys having problems blowing out equipment. They claimed a bonding plug was needed plus a switched neutral. One guy claimed he burnt out his furnace blower. They compared it to having a floating neutral on a home generator as the neutral should only be bonded in on e spot(the main panel). Do you have any advice on this? Thank you
@John34.

This shit is so confusing. I want to know if you could help me out. I have a floating neutral bluetti 200 max with battery and i have a interlock system that will be set up in the main panel. So I will have a 50amp inlet box set up that will go directly to the panel. So I will be able to land the neutral wire on the neutral bar along with ground on the same bar. So Neutral and Ground will be bonded in the main panel. This is supposed to be code for NEC at means of first disconnect is the main panel. There is a massive forum on this which someone at a company sells a transfer switch thing that supposedly fixes all these issues and they explain alot of this stuff, but the forum their is alot of arguments as to what is right and true. This guy says hes taught NEC for years. He also knows a ton about bluetti apparently and is in contact with them. He says you cant use a neutral plug to ground neutrals in the bluetti that it is dangerous and illegal or doesnt match codes. He also says the only way to do that is buy his patented switch that has the Neutrals switched or something. He said the other option is what I listed above that I am doing but then he says bluetti gens are not meant to have the neutral bonded and bluetti doesnt allow this. He goes on to say thats why he has tons of customers buying his product because they burn their generators up by grounding the Neutral incorrectly. I am so pissed and confused. This is what I am wanting to do. If you could watch from 10 minutes in the video onward. It works and is code but that Electrical guy in that forum was saying this would eventually fry the bluetti? Im trying to figure out if this is true. ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-Tf7cEsdXJoU.htmlsi=JkeKB0Q3awwA7v0G

I'm not sure how else to get in touch with you so i will try here... I have been using the functionality within HA for my Bluetti system for months exactly as you had suggested I set it up. Been working GREAT... until, last week. I added two batteries bringing my dual phase system to (4) batteries each. After shutting down to add batteries and starting back up, it doesn't communicate with HA anymore. I can scan and see the devices but it won't bring in the entities. Everything else on HA is fine. I would like to send you a screen shot of the issue but seems I can't paste one here. Do you have a differnt method of me getting it to you? I would appreciate your help!!!! Love your videos!!!

Did you update your firmware? If so, it appears that Bluetti made a change that broke the Bluetti-mqtt integration. I advised another person to request Bluetti to send their unit the old firmware, which they did, and it fixed it. If you didn't update your firmware, then make sure you completely shut down the Bluetti for a few minutes and reboot your HA. Then retry. Let me know...

Great job on this video. I have found the Bluetti website very hard to navigate not to mention they do not elaborate on this subject. Thank you. I was about to decide I did not want a Bluetti system. I wanted to make sure that whatever I decide to get I would be able to have an 230volt ac or in this case a 240 ac output so that I can run my well pump !

Hi, thanks for the video, my issues is that the ac300 wont charge when i plug it to the gfci it will trip it. Bluetti keep sayin is that is floating ground but i have shown then it is bounded. They keep sayin problem is on my end but i had an electrician over and said all my plugs are correctly and with the tester shows it is ground bounded so it should be workin fine. So if i turn off the dc and ac output it'll charge fine without tripping the gfci. But if i turn ac output on to run loads it will trip the gfci.. any help will be appreciated.

Thank you for your excellent and detailed videos. They have been very helpful. Unfortunately, I must be missing something when it comes to my Bluetti AC200Max system. I've tried recalibrating my AC200Max connected to a single B230 several times but have always discharged and recharged them connected because I don't have a second T500 charger and I didn't want to leave one of the batteries in a depleted state long enough to fully charge one battery and then start charging the other battery. In my case, the AC200Max and B230 are connected throughout the process. I run them both to 0 until they shut themselves down, then recharge using the T500. I've tried recharging with the AC charger connected to the AC200Max sometimes and other times via the B230 but neither approach has worked for me. Both batteries do charge to a full 100% but when I start using them again, the SOCs start diverging more and more so they get up to 30-35% difference in SOCs (e.g. B1=65% and B2=32%. Then they start converging again as they approach zero. At several different charge levels, I've looked at the voltages on the individual cells and they are almost always identical - only differing by 0.01 volts usually (e.g. 3.22 v versus 3.23 v on B1 versus B2). It's very annoying. In your experience, what do you think is happening here? Do I need to do the calibration on each battery separately and disconnected? The B230 has its own BMS but I'm not sure how the two BMS's work together. I was assuming the BMS on the AC200Max was the master one trying to balance out the charge on both batteries. I have BMS v1017.04 on the main unit and v 1011.09 on the B230. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks again for your videos.

Great video! My AC200MAX dropped from 95% to 0% in no time, I didn't even noticed, under small load of phone and power bank charging. I was so surprised and shocked! I think this is after days of charging it with unreliable solar (winter time now in Europe) and discharging with AC load (dehumidifier) as well as other light usage. I own the unit for about half a year, and have two B300 extensions in the mix. The BMS must have got confused and lost track of the correct state of charge. I need to recalibrate the whole stack, but will wait for the second T500, since I have no grid and will run it on inverter generator. I think the manual recommends to discharge the unit completely every 3 or 6 months.

I have found with one battery the soc thresholds work but I still have found the soc thresholds do not work. With four batteries I have found that one of the batteries will discharge to zero while there is plenty of charge left in the other batteries. I have updated the firmware the latest version but this did not fix the problem. I think there is still some problem with the firmware to use all the batteries. I am new to using the four battery configuration but have yet not found the problem. I have no alarm for battery communications. Essentially I only have the benefits of one battery even though I have four batteries. I have ensured that the four batteries are connected according to the documentation. I am unhappy that this problem doesn't have any solution yet.

Thank you for such good information on your videos. I bought a Bluetti AC300 and I wanted to use it for time of day for my utility company. I was wanting to plug my ac300 to an outlet on the bottom of my home panel. And I have a sub panel transfer switch that is a manual transferthat I used with my gold zero that is attached to my home panel. What is happening is that I will have the ac300 plugged into the outlet and then when I power the outlets on the ac300 while it is connected to the manual transfer switch the outlet pops at the outlet. How can I fix this?

My AC500 provides little or no fluctuation, unlike Las Vegas' power. The normal house voltage is supposed to be 121V, but in the afternoon, especially in the Summer, it drops to as low as 106V, (no doubt from people coming home and turning on the A/C, lights, stove, TV, etc.) Then the brownouts/blackouts start in various parts of the city. All the while, my Bluetti voltage is still 121V. I can predict the blackouts from watching my Kill-a-Watt meter. On the matter of clocks, I still have an old iphone that I use as a clock under my TV. I noticed it loses time and depends on being connected to the Internet for accuracy, as I keep the wifi turned off on it. I have to turn it on maybe a few times a month to set it. I don't like that the iphone camera is pointed at the whole living room, so if it's "online" all the time that concerns me. You think the NSA would really tell you they can access your phone's camera? It's bad enough that they can access web cams.

It looks like Bluetti's firmware got smarter. I just added a 6th and final battery to my AC500 and it came with a 65% charge. The other five had reached 100% earlier in the day. I watched the app where it shows the individual batteries and the other 5 batteries went into standby mode while the new battery is in charge mode and is almost caught up. So it looks like I won't have to do another calibration (the last one was with 3 batteries.)
@pavel9652
@pavel9652 7 месяцев назад
Calibration is needed when the battery level monitor is confused about the true level of charge. I have two battery extensions and they work like described, but at some point the main station AC200MAX dropped from 95% to 0% in no time under tiny load, I didn't even noticed.

I believe you do. If you watch the official Bluetti video on the fusion box connection, it says you get a max of 6000w AND you can use the DC in the AC300s and you can use the 120v plugs on both the AC300s AC the fusion box. I think you have you use the fusion box to get the 6000w. If you use the AC300, I assume you will get 3000w. But I may definitely be wrong. Can someone correct me if I am incorrect?

At 2:20 he starts to pan down to the fusion box. Below the 240v receptacle it reads 200-240v/30a max. That’s a max draw of 7200 watts. Note that most electronics are only rated to run 80% of their listed rating on a constant draw. For this it would be 5760w max constant draw. Though it should handle surges up to the 7200w max.

Again, this is a fantastic video--I have watched it many times. I am trying to use two AC500s in 50 Amp Split Phase to power my 50 Amp RV. I simply just cannot find a Y connector that has two NEMA 14-50P Male plugs and one NEMA 14-50R Female receptacle (like the black Y cable shown in your video from 9:17 to 9:48). I called at least 10 custom cable companies and the only cable that even comes close to what I need is used to connect two generators (two 50 Amp dual pin connectors) to a NEMA 14-50R. Almost all the other Y cables that have two Male plugs and one 50 Amp Female receptacle have two 30 Amp TT-30P Male plugs and one NEMA 14-50R Female receptacle. In my case, I can't use any kind of cable that only provides 30 Amps, all connectors must support 50 Amps. Do you have any suggestions on how to get a cable like the one you show in your video?

This AC500 & AC300 split phase video is exceptional! I have 2 questions: First, I have a 50 amp plug on my RV-can I use two AC500s in split phase with a 4-prong Y-connector connected to the NEMA 14-50R on each AC500 to power my RV when I connect my RVs 50 amp plug into the Y-connector’s NEMA 14-50R; Second, which specific solar panels (what wattage and how many panels) do you recommend per B300S battery for recharging a battery as quickly as allowed-I purchased a total of 4 batteries so far (2 for each AC500).

Thank you for the feedback. For solar panels I can't recommend a brand, as the panels I used aren't sold any more. However, I do have a solar calculator on my website that you can use to check panels configurations to your AC500 systems. You want to stay below the 150v Max voltage of each mppt controller though. www.mybluetti.com/solar-calculator

I have been having the same struggle, glad to see someone else out there documenting it. I have the first generation bluetti smart panel transfer switch for my EP500 and I first came across this phenomenon when my furnace would refuse to ignite when on battery. The furnace would give me a code of a non bonded neutral. I later also had this problem when my APC UPS would throw a “wiring error” code on the back and would prevent startup. My Victron Quattro could connect and disconnect the ground bond via a relay. It looks like bluetti may not have implemented this yet.

I need 50AMP capacity. Will they run that and how long? Thanks
@masonmcglothlin5101
@masonmcglothlin5101 3 месяца назад
You mean 50amp at 240 volt? Each AC500 can only sustain 42 amps at 120V. Add them together, that makes 42 amps at 240V. So no, they can't do 50 amps. But, close enough for most purposes. Am I right in assuming you're asking because you have an RV that operates on 240V 50amp? Most likely this will be fine for you. Two 15K BTU AC's draw about 1250W each, which is about 11 amps each at 120V. That leaves plenty of extra for your microwave, fridge, and whatever else you're likely to run in an RV. As for how long it'd run things, you just need to add up the watts that you plan to use, then divide your total battery capacity by that. Two B300S batteries have about 6,000Wh of capacity, so if you run two 15K BTU ACs full time at 1250W each, that's 6000Wh/2500W = 2.4 hours. You can purchase more B300S batteries if you needed. If you just run one AC, then you get double the hours. Just gotta learn how to convert between the units, and it makes these calculations very easy.

Hi Jerry. The Bluetti-mqtt is a python app. If you're sharing a single raspberry pi, then you'll need to install Debian as your OS, and then run Home Assistant as a docker image. Once you get that up, you can install Bluetti-mqtt on the Debian OS. Nice overviews. I am about to pick one of these 500's up but I am confused on something from seeing other's reviews. The 50 amp outlet, others have stated only one prong is hot. Does this mean the outlet is completely useless unless you have 2 head units to activate it in 220V with the adapter? Or is the outlet live as is at 120V 50 amp. I am about to buy and RV and it may have a 30 amp or a 50 amp so I am wondering if I am going to be able to pluge straight into the 50 amp if it is 50 amp. (Not sure if a 50 amp RV is 110 or 220V either).
@masonmcglothlin5101
@masonmcglothlin5101 9 месяцев назад
Did you buy your RV yet? My understanding is that if you have an RV with 50 amp service, then it can take 240v but 120v should power everything in the RV if that's all that's available. Not 100% sure on that though.

Do the new Bluetti home integration kits resolve the split phase issues?
@masonmcglothlin5101
@masonmcglothlin5101 3 месяца назад
The kit itself wouldn't do anything to do that. The kits are just a manual transfer switch, or subpanel with an interlock kit. They just receive power from the Bluetti power stations (or a portable generator or some other competitor as long as it has correct cables). They do nothing to change how split phase power works.
