is it practical to learn Houdini when i have already particle illusion pro and red giant suites? im a beginner to both and i want to get immediate results
This is a great tutorial! I am having some trouble getting Primatte to work - I have a foreground clip with green screen and I have a background image both connected to the appropriate places on the Primatte node, but when I click "Auto-Analyze," nothing happens! I can't seem to find any mentions of a similar problem on any forums or anywhere else. Am I missing something?
Is it possible to merge layers that track perpendicular surfaces? Say, you have a video of a drone orbiting a building. So you decide to track one wall, then the next wall perpendicular to the first one, than 3rd and 4rth walls. So you end up with four layers each tracking its own wall. And then you want to stabilize the footage as a whole. Is it possible?
Maybe the BorisFX team can make a plugin to render point clouds and from it extract nulls or pointlights in similar fashion to how the AE Camera Tracker does it? Would defeat the need for 1000+ layers in a comp :)
SynthEyes is astounding. No idea why, but it’s always felt so much faster and more accurate with a single click solve than any other camera tracker. The hardest part for me though is the interface 😖 It feels so dated and cumbersome at this point. I’d absolutely LOVE to see BorisFX do a complete overhaul of the GUI and UX, and modernise the program as a whole. By comparison, PFTrack feels much more intuitive imho, thanks to the more modern GUI. It also allows for much more experimentation imho, thanks to the node based workflow. However, SynthEyes’ actual tracking/solving algorithm is just astounding. It always seems to get shockingly close to a usable solve with a single click. And it’s so damn fast. It also tends to orient the scene really well right off the bat too. It’s such a great piece of software, I’d just love to see it get some TLC on the GUI/UX front in a future version.
I've been scouring Google for my answer with no luck so I'm coming here 😂 Is there any way to rotate particles in three dimensions? I see the spin parameter, but if I have a white square set as my particle, it only spins in a way so that it is always facing the camera. I would like to spin it on all axiis but right now I can't figure out how to do that. Is there a way to do this currently? I'm using the free stand-alone version. Is this something that is only available in the paid plugin version? Thanks in advance for your help!
Generally, no - the sprites are always aligned to the camera. BUT there are some conditions under which you can rotate particle sprites… by turning off “emit in 3D” for the emitter and rotating the camera. If you want the particle sprites to “tumble” in 3D space, then no, that’s not possible. Join our discord and we can discuss in depth: www.borisfxdiscord.com/
Boris fx need to create a feature where we can track light .like light metrics so we can save time to light the 2d plate .for example we can get light source and the position and light direction in form of arrow
We will pass the feature along to the team. Join our discord! It's a great place to post these type feature requests and hear from the Product Managers: www.borisfxdiscord.com/

Thank you so much for the 2d point track exporter:D My script almost worked, but now I have this solution which is much quicker and so much better and more accurate. Again thanks, looking forward for new features in the future.

O Mocha é um ótimo plugin, porem é vendido em dolar, e aqui no Brasil a moeda Real é muito inferior, o que causa um custo alto pra mim que ja queria começar com o pro. Gostaria muito de comprar o original
I still have the same problem with MATTE ASSIST ML. It does not work. Everything is connected as shown in all the videos but when I hit PLAY nothing happens. The matte layer stays on a single frame. It does NOT work at all. I have the latest update and nothing. It does not work.
Do you have a tutorial like this but the light changes. I tried this but my clip actually changes the light a little bit causing the paint to show lighter on the latter part. how can we edit that.
I engaged in a major video project on the weekend and have just used Boris Primatte with Vegas Pro 21. So far the results are very impressive. I have to edit 79 video clips and 665 still photos and incorporate/edit them into my project, albeit only in HD. I am only new to Primatte so I'm still experimenting but it is a very effective keyer from what I've seen. The facilities we shot in were far from professional with 2 different shades of greenscreen but this seems to work without a hiccup. So far I have trimmed the 79 video assets and culled quite a few but am obviously looking for shortcuts to accelerate my workflow.. Without going into specifics I have a beast of a computer that will handle any editing thrown at it without ever having to do proxies so that is not a factor. Back to the grind ....
I'm using Title Studio, but it doesn't support the fonts I've installed, and it doesn't show them. Do you think I should delete Continuum and reinstall it, or is there a better solution? Installed fonts run well in After Effects and other software. Thanks to the good and professional professors of Boris FX
Title Studio fonts have to be TrueType TTF. You'll need to convert them for them to work correctly in Title Studio. Here is an online converter than will transform other formats like OTF to TTF. cloudconvert.com/
