I updated particle illusion to 2024 .5, after the update, whenever I import and replace the particle with color image from pc, it still importing as black and white image, i checked all settings and imported as full color, but not working. then I uninstalled and tried to reinstall through Boris fx hub, everytime I am getting failed message. Then I installed by using the file of older version(2023.5) from local folder, and then tried to update it through boris fx hub, it going well till download, and while installing process it going till middle and showing a popup as "update success", but not updating.
Sorry to hear about your problem. This seems like something that can't be solved in the RU-vid comment section. Please contact Support and they can help out : support.borisfx.com/hc/en-us/requests/new?ticket_form_id=8862260885901
It's not 3D aware in Fusion. It only recognizes 3D camera camera's inside of After Effects. You can use the built-in Particle Illusion camera but it takes a bit of work.
@@BorisFXco is borisfx good enough to do the bigfilms type of effects? i also have red giant suite and after effects also davinci studio...i like bigfilms but the set is almost 40gb so thinking of borisfx
Looking at that site, it looks they're selling asset packs. If you want huge 3D volumetric explosions then Particle Illusion probably isn't the right fit. With some skill, you can pull off some good looking explosions, but it will take a bit of work, and won't be fully 3D in the same way.
I think this software is great, but having these type of effects is nice, but used too much would be a bit unrealistic. You would not want it in every video. So I am not sure it would be worth a subscription. It just would not be used enough to make it worth it.
You might be surprised how much you might need some more subtle atmospheric effects like dust or fog. It doesn't always have to be about sparkles! ✨✨✨ If you're in doubt, grab the free Particle Illusion Standalone, and give that a go without any subscription.
