I come back to researching the assassination every once in awhile, and with all the questionable events surrounding this murder, something else just came to mind watching this. Even though Oswald had fights with his wife, it seems he loved his children very much. I have to wonder why he would disrupt their futures by risking his life or prison time in killing the President. I still believe he was connected to the CIA and was a mole who infiltrated some nefarious organization linked to the assassination and was indeed a patsy. I suppose being a CIA field agent is risky also, but too many things about Kennedy's death don't feel right. It can be argued that "Lone Wolf" assassins take pride in their deeds and seek recognition. Oswald displayed none of that
The original zapruder film was alot worse it showed the headshot in bright colors and jfks blood and brains went up in the air about 2 feet it was like a halo of blood around his head these copys looked toned down alot the original was very gory!!
Granada TV's "Scene At Six" were the first on ITV to report on the assassination of JFK before ITN could pickup the story on the national ITV network at 7pm after regional programmes.
Please note the composure of this panel. There are clear discussions with no loss of emotional control, no one shouting over each other. They respected each other's voice. Imagine this discussion happening today...
All this swooning about the Kennedys is, looking at it now, cringe worthy and decidedly embarrassing. Pathetic actually, delusional, given we now know about the womanizing, the drugs, the mistreatment of women, the Bay of Pigs, the Cuban Missile Crisis, the murder of Marilyn Monroe, sleeping with German spies, and worst of all, bringing Lyndon Baines Johnson into the White House. Johnson's own lawyer, Barr McClennan, admits Johnson's central involvment in the assasination. A complete mess. Pathetic! Everytime the media swoons over someone like a cult, you know it's all a lie and the people they are swooning over are losers!
Looking back on when I was in high school 25 years ago, I was hoping the Kennedys would not have another tragedy because this family has so many tragedies in this family. But it did happen, so sad. My prayers go out to Caroline and the rest of the Kennedys family and Bassette's family. May all the Kennedys and Kennedys in-laws who died rest in peace. This woman claims we do not know our last day is not God and Jesus and needs to stop talking.
Sadly, these days are over. Both major parties are too far the extreme anymore. I'm threatening not to vote this year. On a lighter note: the narrator of this piece played JFK in PT109 movie
8:15 An incredibly insightful and often ignored point, and I think still relevant today, perhaps even more so. I think the Cuban Missile Crisis more than any other event in History proves the importance of making sure whoever is in charge is very "level-headed", that they are strong *enough* to do what needs to be done to preserve the security of the State and it's interests, not liable to "buckle under pressure" in the face of abject threats and so forth, but also not *confrontational* in their approach. Because as it relates to Great Powers who are armed with the capacity to annihilate each other at will, adopting the latter approach could set off a sequence of events that leads to the end of everything as we know it.
I was 5.5 years old when this happened and it is the oldest memory that I have. I didn't totally understand, but knew something major had my mother shedding tears as we watched the funeral while she was at the ironing board.
Tom Rossley was inept and made a complete fool of himself. One of the most hapless defences of the CT position I have ever heard - and I've heard and read hundreds. Cringeworthy. John McAdams was excellent and very patient! God rest him
