Let's talk about real Montessori, what it looks like in the everyday home, debunk myths, and make it work for YOUR family! Hi everyone, I'm Maria -- a first-time mom navigating motherhood and an international family while also introducing the Montessori principles to my daughter.
I fell in love with the Montessori method through my mom, who owns and directs a Montessori school. After being at her side through the accreditation process and helping at the school, I saw all that Montessori could do and knew that one day, I would want this for my children as well. And with the cards life has dealt us in 2020, I have the chance to also implement Montessori at home, as I transitioned to being a stay-at-home mom.
Join in on the journey through parenthood, implementing Montessori at home, and raising a (now) toddler to be multilingual. You can find Montessori, motherhood, and child care videos on my channel, as well as some vlogs to share how we balance it all!
At least the one we have definitely can't- it doesn't have the lights around it the way the original does and there's no programming option in the app for it
Thank you for these great ideas. I am excited to try some new games with my toddler. But I am wondering sometimes: my toddler doesn't want to try things on his own. He gives me items into my hand and points to where it should go, but doesn't want to do it on his own. I try to encourage him to do it on his own, like puzzle pieces or building a tower - I know he can do it, but he prefers me to do it instead. Why is he doing that? My guess is he gets easily frustrated when things are a bit challenging? Is that normal? 🤔
Hi! I just came across your account and I absolutely LOVE your content. So refreshing to see "real" Montessori content on RU-vid to get some inspiration for my soon to come baby :) I see that you're multilingual; I was wondering if you raise your child bilingual, or with various languages? I am looking to raise mine bilingual and am wondering what's the best way to go about it when it comes to books we read etc! <3
Yes we are raising her trilingual! Russian, Korean, and English. I have a few videos I made on this topic as well 🥰 Multilingual Home: ru-vid.com/group/PLEBf4xnldSqB7CTdFr9ZeuG2se6c2s5Sp
My baby girl is 18months and we just got her a play kitchen that’ll I’ll be converting to a functional kitchen! ❤ Your video was very helpful!! Thank you! ❤🎉
@@MariaandMontessori wow. 😮 I am sorry to heat that people say this to you. When I see videos like yours, I think this type of child activity should only be encouraged. I guess i shouldn’t expect that everyone reads books on child development.
Yes!!! Please make a video about teaching your child to write and read in 2 languages! My daughter is 3 and she speaks Russian really good, but now it's time to introduce her to writing and reading. We live in the US and she hears English in public, she doesn't speak it yet, and WE'RE GOING TO BE HOMESCHOOLING. How do I as a mom teach her to speak, read, and write in two languages? AT HOME. BY MYSELF. Very good and informative video! Thank you so much for sharing!
Hi, I just got a yoto for my son! Im trying to upload korean audio files onto the card Is there any website you recommend to download the korean files?
At 30 months she was far from the mouthing stage and knew what is food/can be put in her mouth and what cannot. We had these talks constantly since she was about 1.
These aren't milestones or benchmarks. They're ideas that could work at this age but every child develops at their own pace and would need to build up skills first 😌
Hi! Thanks for sharing your view on toddler toys. Can you explain more in detail about the YOTO player and how you can add audio/music of different languages? I am having trouble finding that option on their website.
I really want one because there really cute I’m going to ask my mom to bring my toy kitchen up tomorrow evening and buy the fake sink myself. I may ask my aunt to buy the mini fridge. Or my mom. This kitchen idea is super cute tho!
This is just our home, our daughter's playroom. She was always able to reach these-the shelf is her height. But it is based on how a Montessori class is set up. We still have short shelves and materials that the children can access independently. The guides g8ve presentations to show how to use the materials
Man I’m really trying to find the time and balance between work and life to do these things daily with my son! It’s such a blessing to the moms and families who have the support and time to do these things as often as daily with their children! People hate what they don’t understand or can’t comprehend! Hella inspiring to a single mom!
I love this ❤ wish I had this space, I currently have a very small living room connected to our kitchen harder to come out with ideas but this def helped
The ages in the title are always based on her age in these clips, so here she was 14 months and 15 months 🙂 I think it's important to see the dexterity (and sometimes lack thereof) with which she did these activities!
THANK YOU for showing and describing the physical cards. That’s one reason I hadn’t jumped on board yet was bc I was scared the cards were just cardboard or something and my kids would DESTROY that.
Do you allow your Children to watch fun things like VeggieTales or Nursery Dancing to Laugh do you only concentrate on Educational activities? I’m asking because of Close Friends and Family Questions
On TV? We didn't do any TV at that age. Now she is over 3 and watches anything she likes that's age appropriate, together with us, a few times a week. Mickey Mouse Clubhouse, Pokémon, Moana, etc
My first memories was making food and folding my clothes. I was very much inclueded to the everyday routines. And I enjoyed it. And I love that kids have their own kitchens ❤
Wow thank you for letting me know! Not sure why that section isn't working, but this is the link to my whole storefront! www.amazon.com/shop/mariaandmontessori
My daughter is almost 2. She seems to get frustrated when trying to accomplish a task and then wont move forward on figuring it out. Do you jave any helpful tips on how to encourage her to continue until she figures it out? Please dont judge me lol. Thank you.
Im trying to do this not that he’s turning 3. My mom always did EVERYTHING for me so when i got to my apartment i knew absolutely nothing, couldn’t even figure out laundry. Hes not going to be like that
