I ran a test pipe for a bit....drove me crazy. All kinds of sut I would have to clay bar off the rear, even after one short drive. Switched to a high-flow cat...never had an issue.
Just bought an RT Non Turbo, got her running good, shes straight piped and man she sounds amazing. These cars are snappy as hell even without the turbos
My uncle had an rt twin turbo with the exact same color back in the nineties. It was a 92 model and was probably the only one in the country. The first time my dad saw this car was on a trip to Hannover Germany, and everywhere they stopped, people gathered around the car, shaking their heads. He also didn't know how fast my uncle was going, but he said it was the quickest drive to Munich he has ever done. Now at 15 years old, I found out the same exact car is still for sale, and I might buy it back, hopefully soon.
It's not like we were out there for three days straight all day lol. Just alot of soaking/waiting/heating/and prying, trying for an hour or so at a time, a few times a day, until we could get the 32 year old, very rusted downpipe nuts to break free. Mostly just waiting for the penetrant to work. Once they broke free, we had it done in about an hour or so.
nope, no real problems or anything so far! These cars are challenging for a first project car, I'm lucky I have my dad that can help. But if you put your mind to it, im sure it'll be fine, I say go for it! I love the car so far, it feels so planted, it's an awesome driving car 🤘
@@legitspecgarage7869 most people nowadays just let them go cause they are expensive to maintain over time. But I have redone my car, my brother, and my cousin car. Hope you enjoy it for a while
I used to have a 91 stealth and i had a oval straight through muffler. It was called reactive. Fits perfect in that bumper spot and sounded between a fox body 5.0 mustang and the eclipse fom f&f.
Thanks for watching!! Here you go hope this helps: maximalperformance.com/products/3000gt-stealth-single-shot-exhaust Cat Back^ www.3sx.com/3sx-na-downpipe-all-new-stainless-steel-made-in-usa-by-kooks Down Pipe ^
Nope. I've tuned and datalogged plenty of vehicles with open filters, and that's not the case. It's only sucking hot air when sitting still, when it doesn't matter anyways. As soon as your moving 10-15 mph, when intake temps would matter, the hot air in the engine bay is flushed out, and intake temps rapidly drop close to ambient, and the open filter is getting more air. More air=more fuel, and better performance. The "hot air intake" thing is not true, and I've done my due diligence. 99% of cars I've tuned/datalogged, prove that to be false. Now if your sitting a lot, and it's really hot out, you can get "heat soak" and see intake temps suffer from that, but that would happen open filter or not.
@@1magnit no, street tuning and datalogging only. Provides better real world data, real vehicle load on the engine/trans, and a far more accurate tune.
