Maybe someone in the comments can help me. I am 15 (playing U16) and playing for Soaring Capitals, a team out of New York, we just beat the #3 ranked team on GotSoccer, and are currently rank #4 in New York west on GotSoccer. I feel like playing for my current team and facing the level of competition we are facing won't be able to get me exposure to a high level of football. We won the throughway league, but I just hear so much about MLS next, ecnl etc. I am not able to play for a MLS next team because of the ubsurd cost, and travel times, because my parents both work full time jobs and cannot commit the time to it. I went to a University of Rhode Island ID camp, and was a average player there. Any advice?
I am paraphrasing because it's been decade, maybe 2, but I seem to remember Wayne Rooney saying that after a game he was far more mentally tired than physically. He said that during a game you are constantly assessing options, playing the odds and watching for errors or lapses in concentration of other players. He said that at his level the skill difference was minuscule, it was the concentration that made the difference.
Hello, I have a question about finding a wall near me. I am a aspiring footballer that wants to train alone to improve my game. However, I'm having trouble finding a wall near me, I live in a small town and don't know where to look. Do you have any advice for me to find a wall, and improve as a player?
It reminds me of the a Samurai duel. Rather than the flair and exertion of a hollywood sword fight, it is all about reading your opponent and anticipating their moves. When you are both so good at your craft, rather than flaunting your own strengths, you win by discovering and exploiting your opponent's weakness. Its why I do like to watch a Championship or Division 1 game every now and then since the players have a lot more space to show off flair.

Pro players think/play like chess, whereas the rest of the world see/play like checkers. They think touches ahead, passes ahead, knowing direction/momentum of teammates & opponents on the field 10 seconds ahead. Then their speed, touch, talent, takes them next level.
The difference between Messi and the worst MLS player is smaller than the difference of that player and an amateur player. People just don't realize how hard being a pro at anything is. Not only sports.
Without relegation and promotion the league wouldn't be as competitive, having promotion and relegation would encourage more spectacular outside of america.
If you have so much free time then I feel like you should be spending it going above and beyond with your training and fitness development even outside of official training times. Otherwise don't complain about not earning that much. Look at Ronaldo, the guy lives and breaths football every waking second. Less movies and more work on your own time.
The healthy distraction is something anyone can do along with any job. Its good to work hard and focus to get better positions and knowledge. But very depressing when thats all your focusing on and things are taking longer for your goals.
