The Claremont Lewis Museum of Art was created to celebrate our community’s rich artistic legacy and to promote the cultural vitality of the region. The museum expanded its gallery space at the Historic Depot in downtown Claremont in 2021.
Beautiful artwork and a great documentation! The Fiber Art world is really amazing, in general so much more authentic than the jet setty Contemporary Art scene.
Andrea, I built a beautiful foot in your ceramics class at Chaffey. I'm the one who built dinosaurs too. I didn't have time to explore expressions such as yours. I took your class in design you talked about capturing the feeling and spirit of a busy airport and people arriving and departing and joyous anticipation of meeting loved ones, the looks on their faces. I was captivated by that and notice that every time I am at a airport. Stay with us.
Hi Andrée! What a moving exhibit and video presentation. I taught at Chaffey some years ago. I remember you visiting my class and using one of your plaster heads in a still life setup for my students. You have produced a uniquely beautiful body of life work and have shown the value of creative endeavor in our lives! Cheers!
Fabulous show!! We saw it today, and the real life pieces are even more fantastical in person. Seeing this video after seeing the show was a great after party! Thanks to all of you for being at the top of your art.
So glad you enjoyed it! They really are pieces that you have to see in person in order to appreciate. Thanks so much for visiting and for checking out the video!
One more point! Art has not gone away in Claremont! The influence of the early artists has inspired artist to move to the area and are thriving today on almost every street. As I stand in my studio I can list at least 5 ceramic artists within a mile of me. Why not have collection of some of their work?
I am so grateful to have this collection of Clermont artists. I especially appreciate the history by Ms. Macintosh! Thank God there is someone who can remind us of the wonderful legacy of the artist influence in Claremont.
