On Monday's it's Star Wars Rebellion or War of the Ring. These I play with my buddy Chris and we play two in a row of each, flipping sides each time.
Any extra games will go up Thursday's and will be more random, or maybe I didn't get a game in to even have one that week.
The two main games are big epic games and take hours to play. But I want to have them as raw as possible so you can follow the whole thought process.
This isn't a place for rules unless someone else in the game is being taught, and ill probably leave it in the video. So we get straight into the action and exciting stuff.

1:42:25 In the combat that started here, the Frigate could have been destroyed. During the 1st round there was a critical hit which the Frigate cannot heal from itself, nor is prevented by the MonCal card, then during the 2nd one there was the Death Star card which may have also been assigned to the Frigate if Chris saw it had 1 hit already. Then he rolled 1 more hit with dice. Small details that may add up. :)

you made a small mistake at 24:30 strider should be stopped at moria if a character is seperated or moved it movement will end if it moves through a stronghold

Expansion setup is considered a bit broken without some minor house rules. You can still play with the expansion and simply set up with base game setup, which is balanced.
I checked the expansion rules after finding it unfair and indeed both players got to see the other's tactic card first, before making a decision of their own. I find it strange to be honest, but it is what it is. 1:21:06 At this point I think you have the opportunity to remove both target markers before the imperial player has a turn, right? Putting the 2 U-wings in the base to be able to carry those 2 ground units. Then using Rieekan's action card to move to one of the markers in the Assigment phase and the Hidden fleet to do the same in the Command phase. This would leave the base empty, but in theory it could work, right? 1:40:01 You were speaking about reinforcing Bothawui and you didn't. Hello! So far this was the video I've liked the most. I prefer playing the rebels in general. I was so hyped about the delaying strategy you carried out around the base, as well as the little guerille actions on the other side of the map. 1:51:28 Whoa, a lot of happening in a very short time. Vader captured Akbar without rolling dice. Akbar didn't move to the Rebel base after being rescued. 2:58:58 I was surprised you did it that way after you yourself said I believe twice before during the series that it's not the way it should be carried out. You just assign the assigned leader to another mission which you will reveal at a later turn in the same Command phase. Didn't really change much, anyway. 3:27:37 I would have sent Leia to Bespin with her Gather intel mission to increase the dice for Mon Mothma's Build alliance. Even if the opponent sent Yularen and the Intel would be blocked, he wouldn't have any yellow icons. Then 5 dice vs 1 for Tarkin would've most likely succeeded. And after all this I would have used Sabotage on Bespin as well if the opponent removed it before.
I thought one had to state which part of the tactic card they're using upon flipping, not after and according to what the opponent played. How does this work?

I have a couple of observations. 1:04:50 I would have gone to Naboo with Lando for the 2 extra dice, then used Mon Mothma in Bespin for the objective card. 1:49:20 I believe if you play Rapid mobilization while the base is revealed, the leader should be put directly in the system. 3:30:22 I believe "combat" is both theatres. "Battle" is what either space or ground. 3:53:40 That's the first time I see a thing like this and it have never come to my mind. I also think it should not be valid that a transport in a system picks up units in the Rebel base space. I think there should be a transport in the base itself, and the Corvette could just bring the 2 troops on Bespin. The reason I think is that they are not the same while the base is hidden. If they were the same, you couldn't deploy units to both off them. That's what I think at least. With those missions that allowed you to take a mission back from the discard pile, I think I would have taken back Mon Mothma's mission twice for additional loyalty and units.
Hello! I cannot express how much I love your videos so far! Despite I don't have the expansion, because I like the original battle type more I really enjoy watching your tactics, hearing your discussions. Talking about your tactic misplays, mistakes just reminds me of myself. Last night I somehow miscounted Rapid mobilization, therefore gave the empire a chance to come into my base and win. I'd like to mention a few oppinions, observations and questions. 41:07 I would not have played any of these 2 action cards during this battle. I think both of them were wasted. Akbar's make all units have -1 health to a minimum 1 in the whole system. It only effects the Corvette and the Star destroyer. Palpatine's card reduces the number of the rebel dice in both theatres. The opponent doesn't roll with that many and there's no ground battle either. After I wrote this whole, I saw that the opponent did that in favor of an objective, but still I would not have risked my entire fleet, unless nearing the end where this could mean the difference between victory and defeat. 2:43:02 I believe the rebel player could not move units to the Rebel base from Mon Calamari, because Han Solo was there during the Command phase. 2:52:36 Similarly to the one above according to movement rules, I believe the ground units still need transportation here. As a different topic, but in the same battle, I believe there should have been another round of combat, because the rebel player rolled only 1 black hit, which you prevented with the action card, unless I've missed something (I am not that familiar with the expansion). 3:03:18 I believe this battle should have started with a space combat between the Star destroyer and the Rebel transport. Then the ground, then the Transport dies automatically if it hasn't received enough damage. At least in the base game, but I think the expansion only changed this auto-destroy to structures, if they rolled dice. Plus, the rebel player has a chance to retreat if no other ships are left after 1 round of combat. Ofc, there was no rebel leaders in the battle to retreat with, just formality. 4:02:14 If I played the rebels I would not have revealed the base, but let the imperials come in. There were 2 Ion cannons which make them roll 4 fewer red dice. That would be a huge advantage apart from the number and the quality of the units. 4:19:18 Are you sure about that note on the top of the screen? I believe you can only play an ability if the correct unit is in the system. That's the Super star destroyer's icon on that action card. 4:21:46 Can the attacker have a look at the defender's tactic card, then make a decision about his own card? If yes, that's another reason for me not to buy the expansion. Looking forward to watch along the series.
Hello! When I last (and first :D ) commented on one of your videos I realized it was #19, so I started watching from episode 1. I really like this series so far and I'm definitely planning to watch along. I have a few observations. 2:27:42 During this deployment I believe you had the destroy star destroyer objective card in hand. I would have deployed a Mon Calamari cruiser and the Nebulon Frigate in Nal Hutta and as my 1st move gone there and possible completed the objective and rescued Leia. Apart from this, with the Death Star plans also in hand I would have put a Mon Calamari cruiser and a Y-wing into the base and 2 Y-wings in Ryloth. As my 2nd move I would have gone with every ship (base and Ryloth) to Geonosis. The opponent knew that the base was in Ryloth anyway. He would have had to move the Death Star to prevent it being destroyed during the next command phase's 1st step. Which then also would have lifted the blockade on Utapau. :) 3:01:42 I believe Lando's mission works like you resolve it, assign Lando to another mission, then later in your next (or one of your next) turn during the current command phase you can reveal the other mission. Which could be quite funny if you assigned him to Sabotage after the opponent removed it from Corellia. :) 3:36:39 Rapid mobilization unlocks only the adjacency restriction of the movement, therefore I believe Wedge on Utapau should have prevented units from moving out. The fact that in the last few rounds Mandalore was subjugated without ground units didn't make much difference in the outcome. :) What was the reason of not playing the Seek Yoda mission?
Hello! I have quite a few games behind me, but I don't know nearly enough I think, so I watch videos about this game to maybe borrow some tactics. I have to admit, I am quite impressed by your strategies. I also really appreciate those sessions when you talk to the viewers. I don't have the expansion, because I don't really like its combat system (at the moment), but apart from that I think I like almost everything in it. I've read through its rules a couple of times, but I can say that I'm not familiar with them. The only thing I didn't agree on with you is when you moved your base at 2:33:37 . At first I thought you messed up, because it shouldn't be a build phase, then I realised by scrolling back that you moved the time marker prior to anything else that should be done before it. I was like "Come on, why move the base, when he won't get any unit next turn?" :D Still, if we don't take my mistake into account, in your place I would have checked how many queue 1 build places does the opponent have. At first sight, the systems adjacent to Alderaan might not have enough units to take out everything in the base, not forgetting that in fact you get the first turn (which just went the opposite way, but you couldn't know), so you can bring the two just-to-be-deployed units from Cato Neimoidia first. In my oppinion the rebel forces on Alderaan would've dwindled, but not failed. Then at the end of the next command phase I would have moved my base. Sending my best regards and wishing good health!
Love these videos - one thing I want to clarify....when you draw cards, you are drawing 3 and keeping 2, but in the rules you should just draw 2. I can't see anything in the expansion rules about this either? Have I missed a rule, or is this a house rule you guys play?
We tried a variant to do exactly that. Decided in the end not to carry on with it as it felt more powerful for the Rebels, and we tend to find Rebels win more already.

I like this game alot.PLayed like 30 times in table top simulator(mostly).I would say that my only problem with this game is that if both people have no idea what they doing Bad guys will most likely win.If both players know what they doing good guys have big advantage coz of their heroes,eagles and beorn.
u know if strider is ever with an army- u can use an army die ( the muster/ flag) do move the army without him... and then he is untargetable. Only costs half a die

This camera angle is nice, Dan. I believe you actually made a significant mistanke in the Helms Deep combat (around 26:20). You got a hit on the very first round of combat with the +1 to combat rolls, but re-rolled your 5. Also The Black captain commands is recruit “in the region containing the witch king” and is also “OR move all nazgul”. I believed you put 2 new nazgul in 2 different areas and also moved all nazgul? Fun game though. Not sure it made a difference except possibly the Helms Deep thing.
No wouldn’t have moved, you could have saved 5 mins for the wife by cutting into your post game 😉 I would have played Power too great early ( to hamper Rivendell) And DEFINITELY declared in MTirith to get into Mordor a turn earlier , save a CP and avoid Mr Huntys card draw
Haha. Had you not seen this game before? I own it IRL and it's a decently fun game. I did replace the flight cards tho with homemade tokens you draw from a bag. Too much cars shuffling IRL otherwise.
