Twenty years today, Papaw's gone to be with The Lord. When I was just a sprout, he and I loved watching The Hillbilly Bears together, and Paw Rugg was always our favorite. He sounded just like Papaw, down to the laugh. Special memories.
This song was in my head when I was learning to ride a bike in the 80's. I kept at it all afternoon and the next day until I maintained balance. No one was around when I achieved balance and rode it. A victory I celebrated alone. Good song to guide you through anything you do. Sesame street is a great guide book through most some people for some strange reason can't grasp today.
Where do you get your Carol Burnett Show clips? A lot of these finales here aren't available the way I usually watch the show (through streaming) bc they cut a lot of stuff to make each episode a half hour. That's a shame, bc I really like a lot of these!
I got most of them from the Time Life DVD sets. I think some came from Columbia House as well, I'm not positive. I couldn't tell you which ones, though. My memory is lacking somewhat in that regard. Some I got online, via either screen recording. The Mickey Mouse one I got from a channel called Z Living, which actually aired the hour long version of "The Carol Burnett Show." Unfortunately, my provider (Verizon FIOS) removed the channel from it's lineup in 2023. Shout! Factory has several full length episodes on their website.

Thanks for sharing this. I came to this after looking up Mitzi McCall after seeing her on the Season 9 "Seinfeld" episode "The Secretary" (she played the wife of the dry cleaner). Then I recalled seeing her on Match Game in the 1970s, and maybe even Laugh-In. This album has it's moments. Not quite Stiller & Meara. Very funny first 30 seconds!

Sorry, I don't have the full broadcast. My parents cut the commercials. And even if they didn't, I have no way to convert it. This was taped using a Beta, and the Beta machine I have currently in storage.

The crazy thing is, I really loved Popples when I was a kid, and looked forward to watching it every Sunday morning, especially the second season with the rock star Popples, and I remember thinking at the time how cool it would be if they made a live action movie of the Popples - totally unaware that it started out as a live action special! I was completely unaware of this live action special until I bought the complete series on DVD a few years ago!
Truthfully, I didn't even know there was a second season until the mid 2000's myself. Not my cup of tea, to tell you the truth, but different strokes for different folks.
Love this Version of the song. When I was a kid I liked Tender Heart the Care Bear when I was a kid. I did not resize until I grow up that Tender Heart represented emotion's and feelings.
Such wonderful characters, surprised this show hasn't made a comeback as there aren't enough characters like these nowadays! Hard to believe The Get Along Gang turns 40 years next year!
