Can I ask, what happens if you didn't prune it in March? I have a Poinsettia that i've had since Xmas. It's been doing really well (first time ever) without me really touching it much, but now we are in June and it's getting very hot I noticed it looking a little more droppy so thought I would look into how to care for it and of course everyone says about pruning it back. Would it be too late to prune it now, in June? thanks :)

My plant still is blooming and healthy with new growth. It's June so I expected it to start being droopy and it is not. Should I cut it back anyway?

My 4inch poinsettia has new green leaves and getting root bound should I repot it into a bigger pot now or wait until I prune it back when the leaves start falling off?
@n.w.414
@n.w.414 5 месяцев назад
You will of course need a bigger box since the plant will have grown a lot and have lots of leaves.

If you have drainage and are putting one pot into another you can actually put the stones in the bottom of the larger pot instead of the small pot. Thus leaving more room in the smaller pot for the plant to form new roots.

I received a LARGE poinsettia 2 1/2 ft. In my apartment I have other plants competing for light. After watching your video. I’m overwhelmed to think I won’t be able to care for this beautiful plant

They are REAL pain in the neck. Finicky doesn't even come close. I had 2 very nice poinsettia from Christmas 2022 that I was able to keep alive and relatively thriving until November 2023 when l put them in the dark for 16 hrs/day so they would sprout red leaves for Christmas. Sadly the spare water closet I put them in was too cold and they lost almost all their leaves. A few new red leaves have sprouted but my patience is wearing thin. They drop leaves so easily 😢

Thank you so much for the informative info. So surprised to learn about the light and temperature requirements. Will follow your instructions to have a full bloom next Xmas!

Hi! I'm new to planting. May I ask why repotting to smaller pot is necessary? Thanks! :)

Wow! Thank you for info. I found 2 beautiful tall Pointsettas in Dec '22 outside of a dumpster. The price tag was still on them and they had cost $50 each!! I took them home and followed directions on RU-vid and it is now July 23 and they are thriving. Definitely did not over water them and put them in corner with no direct light in jan, feb ,march and mid april. Then put them on kitchen counter but no direct light. They look great and are now outside for the summer. Thank you for these clear instructions. One thing for sure, they do not like too much water. The plant lady knows all!❤

This is a scam! Do not pay for this app! What it’s telling you to do in these ads are simply false information, they will only hurt your plant further inorder to keep using their app. As for this case, it is not rotting root, plus, you usually need to take it out of the pot inorder to see for yourself what is happening. This plant just from eyeballing looks like just has soil that is doesn’t like, as well as it being in a small pot. This pot looks way better for seed starters and now a full grown plant. Just repot it, and give it some plant minerals after a few weeks

The first succulent did not need less water it needed to be repotted and the soil changed. Seeing how it stuck out so weirdly with dead leaves on the bottom shows it’s trying to replant itself somewhere else. Not that it has too much water.
