Beautiful interior mods. I'm debating between the sportster cs's and the pole positions. How you find the comfort of the pole positions for daily driving?
Bang on with your review on this seat. My 996 GT3 came with Sports seats that I’ve changed to Recaro PP ABEs. The manual from Recaro isn’t helpful at all except for how to piece the various spacers together. You need to supply your own nuts and washers if you’re getting the 996 specific kit. I’ll even go so far as to say that you can fabricate your own seat base. At 1.91m tall the Recaro supplied base is way too close to the steering. I’m fabricating a new one to move it 40mm backward. The Recaro supplied base is hollow rectangular tubing with threads welded on . I can’t see how a flat bar that’s threaded can be any less safe. Seats are amazing though!
Don't know what you have going on with the instability of the car. Too much tire pressure? Understeer to oversteer? Coilovers and sway bars need adjusted and dialed in. What's with everyone parking the cars in the turns? Inputs should be smooth with the hands and right foot. No reason why that car should be breaking loose like it does. Regarding your brakes over heating, you are braking early and too long. You will boil your brakes. You want to work on braking later, harder and balancing the car as you come off the brakes with turn in then gas. Make sure you are running fresh brake fluid in the car.
Love the e92 platform. Looking forward to seeing the build. Just picked up a 996 myself and saw you had both that and a 997. What do you think of the 997 vs 996?
Thanks! Well I am absolutely in love the 996, I have one built as a track car, and last year I traded my 996 c2 for a 996 turbo slick top x50, so that should tell you. IMO the most raw feeling modern 911.
I have a 2008 e90 n54 that i use for HPDE. I have two oil coolers. Keeps my oil temps on the track at around 120 degrees F above ambient temperature which keeps me under 230 degrees even on the hottest summer HPDE days
@@CarPlebs i removed the fog lights on both sides. I routed the oil cooler lines down the driver side first then routed another hose to the passenger side next through the crash structure/bumper (as to not melt the plastic bumper) then back to the oil filter housing. I replaced the stock bmw oil cooler plate with the stock thermostat with an aftermarket plate that allows continuous flow to the air cooler.
To me it's the worse 'upgrade' imaginable. Trading a very plain-looking wheel for your existing wheel which has the convenience of remote controls. My interior upgrade was to replace the standard head unit with a modern device which adds bluetooth and phone mirroring
I bought mine without doing a whole lot of research. I am much more educated now. But I ended up with a 996.2 6-speed Coupe... as someone said before in the US it's hard to get one without a sunroof but I think the sunroof is awesome. My other car is a Boxster so I enjoy having some sunshine. Mine came with the Bose to tell you the truth it's pretty good. I hooked up an auxiliary input into the disc changer so that I can use my phone for my music. I have also done the sport suspension and lowering. I wish it had heated seats but other than that. I love it and actually prefer the narrow-body to the C4. I have owned many air-cooled 911. I love them but they don't hold a candle to this car. Extremely happy with my car even though I kind of ended up with a great one without knowing what I was looking for.
Alright let me just start this out by saying I did the muffler delete modification. Not only was it loud but I definitely lost bottom end. I Removed it....I did this mod yesterday and not only does it sound better and raspier although not a whole lot louder there is definitely a performance gain at about 3K. The car is more responsive and spools up quicker. This is not my imagination as I had a really loud muffler on it and I noticed it the car slowed down. I am so happy with this mod my car so much more fun to drive now. I wish somebody would do a Dyno and some 0 to 60 times I'm sure there is a gain although maybe small you can feel it in the seat of your pants..996.2
maybe your video has bad night quality but it is DEFINITELY not pitch black in the dark, I have the litronic headlights on my 2000 c2 and they light up damn good. From just looking at the video it seems like you only have the daytime lights on which explains why it's so dark. 6:32
The 2021 legion 7 has the best rgb implementation and looks colors everyrhing. Even 2022 legion 7 hasn't better rgb than this. No laptop caa reach the level of impressiveness than this

I installed the driver's side a few days ago and I'm already getting leather creasing in the front cushion. I notice you have something similar going on. Seems the front cushion is slightly too wide, and must be pressed in, which causes the leather to bunch/crease under weight. btw, your review was spot on. Seats are comfortable and enhance the driving experience. Just a bit underwhelmed by the leather quality, and I suspect the cushions won't last very long.
You can mark the spline once the bolt is removed for the high noon mark. Then you can lock the column and use the mark on your wheel and spline to reinstall without the steering wheel being aligned.
Where did you buy the Recaro 82.26.16 and 82.26.26 sliders? I tried RHD Japan but they couldn’t find it. 😢 I need them for my 944 S2 as the wedge bracket ones I bought are shit.😊
