I just realized youre saying it's the "unserviceable" one. Ok in that case, since you decided to remove the bearing seal, have you considered a direct oil feed from an unused port on the engine or oil filter (adapter needed)?

I have of course considered. According to my mechanics the topic is severely exaggerated, they told me that if I want them to make more money they are happy to do it, but it’s in the interest of certain manufacturers to have this fear surrounding the m96/97. The fact is that there are many things there to worry about e.g. bore scoring, chain tensioner wear, oil pressure during track use, oil temp management and so on. My personal approach is, when it breaks it breaks and then I can take care of the above as opposed to spending now 10k+ on something that may never occur. Best of luck!
