@@DarthVader07705nice! It’s a good one! I might even end up displaying that one in the “exploded” format and putting my EFX version on my actual Vader.
I got it from eBay I think, but it's just the Rubies suit. Far from perfect and no where near worth the cost of new... but enough people buy them for coporate events or Halloween and then resell them for cheap. That's how I got mine. Maybe watch eBay or FB marketplace for them.
@@cameroncope3034 I just looked into it, and you two are right! Confirmed by Roman on social media. SO COOL! Wish I had been able to throw that tidbit into the video now!
Hey dude! Love your channel. Do you know anywhere I can find Anakin’s podracing helmet? I’d love to support an independent creator but I’ve not been able to find anyone making one. I’ve got a local vintage Post standard in my area for $200, and I’m very close to asking them about it if I can’t find an alternative.
Hi! I haven't seen any outside of the Don Post one. Perhaps a bust at one point, but then you have a whole kids head include as part of it. I was lucky to buy them low, under $100, but I see them anywhere between $200-300 now. You can always try to negotiate that location one down, but sounds like a fair price!
I have the hoth version but unfortunately these don't compare to the MR ones. Their hollow. I just got the MR falcon and no way was myc going to beat that. Anyways will never know.
@@StarWarsCollected Thanks buddy!! I has Harrison's for sig too number 2/500 I think it was given to employee's due to the low number and Harrison touched it with his thumb print. Kind of makes it even cooler. Lol anyways thank you.
Natalie is 5'3 in real life, but she was supposed to be 5'7 in the movie. Behind the scenes photos with Christian hayden you can see her on her Tippy toes.
They sure do! Their French service turns over to USPS when it arrives stateside. I had to make a trip to the post office to pick it up, but that was more on USPS for not leaving a note that they tried to deliver and it was on me to now come to the post office to get it. It was well packed and even though there was a delay picking it up, it arrived in fairly short order. Not sure what the lead time is currently on ordering their product, but it was worth the wait. I love this little guy!
Im not sure why you're so hard on this helmet. Its not anyworse then the Boba Fett or X-wing mold. The X-wing has seams in a couple of places, with one in the front, and I've heard people complain about the separate piece button ruining the solid look of that box/square. The battery cover isnt really that bad either. The original helmets use decal stickers which stand out as a decal sticker with the white not matching and you can see the edge of the sticker like we can with the battery cover. There is no alternative option for a scout trooper that looks this good while maintaining the price. The proportions and detail is there. And the helmet can be modified by filling in the seams and then repainted.
Thanks for your comment! My criticism is that the electronic features are not worth compromising the sculpt over. Or if they insist on keeping them, they should hide the battery panel on the inside like they have on other helmets. Just seems frustratingly unnecessary to take what is otherwise a solid piece and put a giant panel on it when it could have been hidden or omitted.
@@jeremydrew1227 I think Black Series helmets are always aiming for a more idealized version of the designs, or are often based off more current ideas, like the TKs being closer to the Rogue One helmets with he actual vents rather than the stickers. It would seem that referencing the scout troopers from Mandalorian, where they don't have a sticker issue, would be more in line with that. Not to mention any other replica be it from Hot Toys, EFX, or even a Hasbro figure doesn't put unnecessary panels on the back. I think Hasbro likes to position these as role-play items, but I think 90% of the time they are going to be display pieces, so it would seem to me the priority should be presenting the most aesthetically pleasing version of the item, and making any electronic features a secondary concern, not to compromise the appearance.
@@StarWarsCollected I don't think you get what I'm saying. The battery panel mimics the look of a sticker and the obvious edges you see with the sticker. The sticker looks obviously placed on and so does the battery panel. That's my take anyway. You seem to be set on the battery panel placed there as being an awful decision anyway.
@@jeremydrew1227 I hear you brother, I just don't agree that the decal edge was significant enough to be translated into a helmet like this. Every other manufacturer I see, Sideshow, Hot Toys, EFX, RS Prop Masters and Hasbro themselves, do not translate that decal edge into their finished products. The panel should have been hidden inside, like nearly every other helmet they've designed.
@@StarWarsCollectedunfortunately there isn’t going to be any Falcon. MYC is closing shop. Disney pounced. I guess no X wing for me. Hope I get my deposit back. 😢
@@nelsonc6173 I'm absolutely gutted. We'll find out more soon, but this is such a huge disappointment. Just wish MYC could get the license and go forward.
@@StarWarsCollected Do you think they can? I am sure the prop/replica license is not exclusive to any one company...unless huge huge monies were exchanged. I hope Michael can work something out. I really wanted that X wing...my fave ship more than the Falcon...to go with FL Tie. I'd rather get the ship than my deposit back to be honest. Feel bad for the people who put DP's on many PO's. Disney should know better than to pounce on small replica companies. It hurts their fans, fans who have spent billions on merchandising for years which supports the SW franchise...in some cases for decades. Disney should work out something with Michael. IMO it's the decent thing to do.
@@nelsonc6173 You and I are 100% on the same page. I get if Disney started seeing revenue (not necessarily profit) in a higher number that it caught their eye. I think the licensing is probably SUPER complicated, but companies like EFX, who also make replica ships, barely do anything with that license, are slow to market, and leave a lot to be desired in their communication. The perfect solution would be for Disney to help make MYC legit and then everyone wins.
Search for the "MYC Sculptures Collectibles" page on facebook and follow that. Michael will post when something is going up for preorder, typically on a Wednesday for the following Saturday. You can also see the rough schedule of preorders and deliveries for the year ahead.
You seem to havea few of those GG statues. My Ackbar's lower foot doesn't quite reach the floor and it seems to put stress on the other leg... Is it possible to warm it up with a hair dryer or something to realign it? I don't quite know what material it's made of .. 🤔
I'm sorry to hear you're isn't coming together as it should. I don't think the material would do much softening with heat. I would closely examine the base and make sure there's no debris in there (use a paper clip or something while holding it upside down to make sure it's clear. I'd probably then use some kind of file to slowly shave the sides of the hole in the base.
@@StarWarsCollected the rod an hole fit perfectly flush, there must be a slight warp with the floor of the base or the other leg. It seems a common problem as I've seen reviews having the exact same issue. For now I just put a clear spacer to the foot and weight of the figure still rests on it.
How dare you call Akbar unattractive! 😂 great looking statue! The one in the chair would be an awesome one to add to the collection if you don’t already have it.
I can't believe I'm going to type this out, but how does he put his shirt on over those gigantic mitts? Must be super stretchy long time ago far away fabric.
That's an excellent and hilarious question. Maybe his head is SUPER soft, like a squid and it makes a "PLOP" noise when he squeeze his head through the tunic?!
Great review! I'm still on the fence about getting this figure. But I'm gonna get the Play toys, Senator Amidala. Are you going to be getting Sentor Amidala figure?
I did see someone post that last week! I've been really chasing the throne room dress collectible for a long time, so as nice as that one looks, I might see if it shows up cheap 2nd hand someday. Would love to know your thoughts on it when you get it though!
I got it for about 175 after shipping , used an extra sideshow stand I had , then bought a plaque from Etsy, I will say this figure is actually taller than the AOTC padme
For a third party, I think it looks pretty good! Definitely filling a void we definitely have been needing. I've been very impatiently waiting for any and all Amidala hot toys haha. Random question. Are those First Order Tie Fighters on that box art? haha
Glad to know I'm not alone! I feel like this costume is the definitive Queen Amidala look but it's just crickets from the licensed manufacturers. Great eye on those tie fighters! You could be a rebel pilot! I actually stated it in my review but it didn't make the cut. The box art actually is pretty good, until you start really looking at it and it's just randomness.
I think I love this. I want to get it, but yea ebay prices are different. Wish it came with a base and would be cool to install some kind of aluminum cage on the inside of the dress to keep it out or for posing. Still looks really nice. Great video
All would be good edits! It's probably about a $100 figure honestly when I compare it to what we get from the licensed companies, but if they don't make it, what are we to do? I still think a PF version would be my first choice, but this will do for now. Thanks for watching friend!
Vader was created in England, I saw an old film in a British castle that had a knights armor statue that had the metal eye brows the same as vaders brows, kinda cool. Lots of English in Vader. 🇬🇧
What do expect from a $150 helmet. It's 95% movie accurate. You can't expect it to be like a $500 efx movie prop replica. And it doesn't even have electronics
My point is that they consciously made an unnecessary choice to make it less accurate. They've made the choice to hide battery panels on other Black Series helmets, and they should have done that here too.
Furthermore, even if they couldn't put the panel on the inside, I'm of the opinion that most people who buy these would rather have the helmet look more accurate than to have the electronic features as I just don't think people use them as much as they buy them as display pieces.
It looks like that's about PO rate on sideshow.com right now for another run of these. Noticing a starting price of about $300 on eBay. So, $270 seems reasonable, but not a steal at that price.
@@StarWarsCollected I’m know that it’s obviously going to be a static piece on the shelf but with a Boba Fett next to it, it would be an eye catcher for sure.
