I usually run a Spartan Tank Spear SNS, but I came across one of these and swapped it to a GS SNS tank, and I am loving it. I try to maximize more dps than your build, so it is a little different. I am interested in your thoughts on the void darkplate. I use it and have it at 725, but I am wondering if the survivor's coat and the endless thirst pairing (I think that is one) might be better. Do you have any thoughts on this? I am also looking at maybe another artifact to increase DPS on armor, but I can't seem to find it. Maybe winged boots, but you are rarely hasted on GS. Any thoughts on this? thanks, and it's a great video.
Oh bro, my next vid is about that! First of all, I LOVE the Spartan build (SNS/Spear) and I would like to play it one day! How does it feel? Do u have any fights? Regarding Darkplate, I like it overall as it was the "best" artifact to pair with a Tank using Shirking Heals. Now I am using Survivor's Coat and I LOVE IT. Endless Thirst + Coat = Huge regen. Imagine if you also add Shirking Heals on that! Endless has not dropped for me yet, but it is my first priority. Once I have both, I will try to add either SH, or Slash Cond and see how I can 1vX! If you want DPS, you kinda need Onslaught like you mentioned. For Speed, I add Keen Speed on Sword or Shield, so I have 40% extra speed (Keen + passive from SNS). :D
New to the game and on the hunt for gear at level 65. Where would you recommend to farm for this kinda gear as a solo player? Your build looks really fun and I kinda want to try out a tank build
Hi bro! Welcome to the most fair PVP experience you will ever have in an MMO. :D Easy farm: Frigid Dawn set from Glacial Expedition. Heavy with Ench Ward + Elem Aversion + 1 perk of your choice. It's 700 gearscore. For 725, you will need to craft your set slowly with time - but until then, Frigid set is awesome.
Solid question - the answer is that attack speed of bows is faster than that of a Firestaff. Also, Firestaff attacks in a more limited tempo so it is easier to block the attacks while chasing it. :D Ofc, I do not say that everyone should do this - this is just how I play.
Tower Shield = more defense, u consume less stam when taking hits. Kite Shield = Less defense, u consume more stam when taking hits, but u can add more aggressive perks such as Counter Attack. Currently I have Kite because I found it for 20g on Trading Post hahahaha. If you are playing Greatsword, I would go for Immutable Resolve - though I have never dropped it, and I have never seen anyone dropping it.
@AlexandrosNewWorld thanks so much man. Wondering if you ever plan to do a video where you talk through what you're doing and thinking in a fight? Clearly, you're making subtle moves and manoeuvres that my noob brain can't comprehend. Would love to hear you talk through a fight around some of your decisions. Anyway, great videos and skill... your gameplay is exactly what I'm trying to emulate in this game. Thanks man and keep up the good work
@@wrinklysoldier5244 This is something I have been considering for a long time - and I think it would be great for new tanks to understand the logic behind 1vX pvp. I guess one of my next vids will be an in-depth PVP guide on movement and anticipation. :D Thank you so much for the kind words! <3
How hard is to grind a whole end game pvp set ? Not BIS but a full gs725 set with random perks is it too grindeous ? Also can i grind a whole endgame set solo ?
@@frankjr7830 Hey bro! Actually u can farm a BIS heavy set (Frigid Dawn) really fast from Glacial Dungeon. It's pretty much endgame, and the only thing that I would perhaps use much later, is a crafted set at 725. GS score doesnt matter - 700 is more than enough.
@@AlexandrosNewWorld bunch of con artists these devs……. They haven’t let anyone know how long the down time is for….. theres nothing on there websites….
Also with splitting between Dex and strength. I understand that the GS is 80% between the 2 stats. But why not go all strength so that it does both the S&S and GS?
Solid question: This is because GS is my main source of dmg. Sword is used to put Disease and Trenchant Rend on enemy. GS is used to kill. So, 100 STR and 100DEX on Greatsword, is better than 200STR. The damage scales better like that :D
@@AlexandrosNewWorldahhh I had no freaking idea!!! I will totally do it like that. Thankyou much for answering the questions! I hope you’re gonna be posting more vids of you wrecking with this build. I enjoyed the previous one for sure
He is a very solid player. If you watch the fight closely, you will see I never showed by back to him for the entire fight. When I had both jumping on me, I would fight in tight spaces or put my back behind a wall/rock. :D I saw him fight some other ppl before, so I knew in advance I was in for a tough fight :D
Do you ever use onslaught abilities? I’m going so a similar play style but I have relentless rush instead of roaring rupture and I have shield bash instead of shield rush on.
@@josephochsner34 Hi bro! I have occasionally used Onslaught abilities as I love their animations. My problem is that in a 1vX scenario, none of the GS abilities have Grit, except for Rupture. Grit is important while casting abilities, as they renew your shield, and give you fortify. Thus, as a GS player, you will melt in 2 seconds without those buffs. If you play however as an assassin, Onslaught tree makes more sense. Regarding the shield perks, they do make sense to me. The only reason I have not used Shield Bash, is because GS does not have a super impactful ability that NEEDS to be set up, and the heavy attack damage is not as great as the one of Warhammer.
@@AlexandrosNewWorld I see yeah for the shield I might switch bash out for rush I feel like there’s extra mobility helps also. And I see makes sense on the greatsword I like relentless rush to like sometimes get repositioned throw out a heavy then swap or use a defiance stance ability to get my defense back up.
@@josephochsner34 I totally get what you are trying to do. Having a bit of mobility and the ability to go full out offense for a few seconds is something I loved to do. In fact, I used to play like this! Link: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-k4F5sou_HwI.html
So far I would keep around the same build as last season bro: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-odH1AUhtKOc.html Too early to have a definite reply. :D
Thank you brooo! Uhm I guess Darkplate, the new Arti Chest, and Endless Thirst. :D I will be updating the build each video I upload, as this is Fresh Start :D
I love it too bro! Just like every weapon, the GS also has some advantages and disadvantages. However, under conditions, it can be deadly. It's offensive tree (this is the one you use I assume), makes you attack faster - at the expense of stamina - and you get 15% extra dmg. It CAN be deadly, but it needs to be balanced and thus it is obviously slower than Hatchet, and it's skills do NOT have grit, as enemies need to be able to interrupt you. Since I am usually outnumbered, I focus on the defensive tree of the GS, and I limit my dmg, while I increase my survivability :D
It is a beautiful action game, believe me! All you see is a Tank 1v2 and assume its a braindead overpowered build that sucks. But what you are missing is the fact that he plays very smart around his cooldowns and has a very high skill and knowledge on that setup, also the enemys are not the best (for example stacking his calamity Counter). Trust me, its a good Game, and trust me, this is way harder than it looks mate😊
To add to what @DeckardMain said, it is also about what your preferences are. If you want fast combat, playing with Rapier/Spear/Bow/Hatchet and Light Armor will provide a 100% different experience. I am a tank, and therefore I am slow, my attacks are slow, and my dmg sucks. The above weapons are exactly the opposite. Regarding my enemies, in all honesty I think they were pretty good! FFA zone is paradise for my build because even if they are 5v1, they are likely to hit each other, while I hit ALL of them. The boys in the vid were very decent lads and actually saved me from a gank when I was semi-afk :D
@@swiftyswiftler That could be true, never tried it to be honest! And I also dont know any other player who plays same as me, but with medium :D Do u know anyone?
Hahahha thank you bro, means a lot! ❤ This is the point of the channel - to show a different approach to tanking outside of the "standard" SNS/WH, IG/VG, SNS/Flail. No healing power, no AOE stuns, no locked combos. Pure positioning and timing :D
Hi bro! To find the skin for all the items: When I open inventory, exactly above Gear Score number, there is a mask icon and next to it is the name of the skin I use. For example, my helmet is "Isabella's Medium Headwear"! Regarding Dyes, I use Sharp Silver dye from the Shop. Regarding GS perks, I LOVE Trenchant Recovery + Plagued Strikes :D
I used to use a similar build but had the Micheal shield so I’d get heals while blocking. It works when charging heavy’s with great sword in defense stance
@@gamiii6666 Glad that it helps mate! Make your sword Plagued Crits + Trenchant Rend, this way, every time you crit they get disease, and with heavy attack they get rend. Plagued Crits and Plagued Strikes stack, so in total they will have 50% disease lol!
How do you counter defensive stance on greatsword as a melee. Everything seems to be blocked as im getting chunked down? Try timing knockdowns between heavies or jsut try to block break? I am SNS/SPEAR user and cant seem to touch their block stam
Hey bro, the key to counter me is to time the seconds between each of my attacks. The blue shield does NOT last for the whole duration of the attack, so you can either dodge and hit, or trade blows with me. Look at my previous video, the SNS/Spear I fight is actually very decent. Link: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-KqXH2DuYOWI.html
I was installing the game to give it a visit after quit it a long time ago due to the zzz gameplay now i see this "pvp fight" better called "metapod fight", 0 skill, only tank and wait zzzzzzzzzz gameplay still, thanks for the video, I better cancel the visit
Forget about endgame. Play the 2 weapons you love the most. Wear the armor you like the most. Forget about experts, streamers, youtubers etc. Start learning which enemy skills hurt the most. Think of ways to counter them. Look at perks and see which help you the most. :D
Hi bro! I am on Fresh Start server atm, so my gear is kinda whatever. I would not change much tbh - maybe add Plagued Strikes on GS instead of Lifestealing. Also, still need to test the new Artifact chest vs Darkplate. Check this video for GS tree, it should start when my build shows: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-GFgKfY2Q3D8.htmlsi=L0XuNwxQ329HauM0&t=68
@@BrewingwithMagic In order to run Serenity - as it does not have Trenchant Recovery - I will need a different Source of Lifesteal. That CAN work with Blooddrinker. It is personal preference: 1) Serenity + Blooddrinker (higher dmg + heals, but lower pot power) 2) Trenchant Recovery + Artifact Earring (lower dmg, but higher heals and pot power). Hope that's clear bro! :D
@@AlexandrosNewWorld I’m also on a fresh start server and still leveling. Would you recommend a specific build while leveling or do you just use this to get used to it? Is this a viable leveling build
Gear must matter a lot when farming with tank huh. I'd say my gear is average but not fully traited and I cant seem to farm open dungeons solo efficiently yet.
Sorry about that mate, check this video for it, it should start when my build shows: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-GFgKfY2Q3D8.htmlsi=L0XuNwxQ329HauM0&t=68
Hi bro! Not much really tbh. I am making a new char so I am not lvl 65 yet, but I am really looking forward to test the new Chest Artifact. Then, I need to measure dmg difference between Darkplate and the new Artifact, and see how much more HP I can get from adding Health to amulet. :D
