If you are starting a small business or are thinking about leaving your 9-5 job this is the place for you. I cover information about starting a small business and my experiences, successes and failures along the way. I currently run an exterior cleaning business specializing in pressure washing and soft washing. We offer roof cleaning, gutter cleaning, house washing, window cleaning and pressure washing. @@ExteriorCleaning4Real Awesome, ty! Does weather make a difference? I live in Texas where it’s very hot, do you think it’d do any harm if it stayed up there a week in the heat before the next rain?
@ReeRuns the heat won’t hurt if you are treating asphalt shingle. If you are doing barrel tile or metal then you need to rinse. If you are doing metal then you need to do it in the morning or evening (not in the heat of the day) and never let the solution dry on metal, it will mess up the coating/paint. For rain, it is ok to treat in a light rain but don’t do it in heavy rain because it will get diluted.
@kevinjones1993 is your business in VA? For my next system I’m probably going to do a trailer build from one of two companies here in the northwest. At least that way I’m within driving distance
I don’t install roofs, I only clean them. This is a house and unfortunately it is common for contractors to use the cheapest material when they are putting up subdivisions. Where do you live? Tile is only common in southern USA. Up north there is barely any tile
@Thecommentator-hc1fz nice! I want to live in Ireland. I was just there a couple weeks ago in Doolin and Killarney. It looks like the tiles out there are slate. Does that sound right? How is the roof cleaning industry in Ireland? It looks like most people like the moss out there (and I’m sure it doesn’t do damage to slate like it does to asphalt shingle)
@@ExteriorCleaning4Real depends where you are, in Dublin it’s tiles and more windy area got heavy slates. It’s so heavy it’s very easy to clean. They use slate because it’s a tradition and mostly because of the weight makes it really good in very windy areas.
@Thecommentator-hc1fz that would make sense why I saw a lot of slate in Doolin then. Do you clean roofs in Ireland? If so, how do you do it? Chem or brush?
Bro just replace the gasket and your good pr you can put Karnak around it all that rip is was a good ol boy tryna make her fit it's done all the time it's fine
Thats where the roofer gave it a little slice to make it fit easier. Or its one of the one size fits all and when you tear the inside out over the years they rip
Thanks for the comment. I did not know that roofers did that. I actually don’t see this often. The whole point of the boot is to keep stuff out and up here in the PNW water will get into any crack available. Just curious, where do you live that roofers are doing this? I learn something new every day!
Yes, start with a low SH percentage (less than 1%) if your system allows it. Rinse with a lot of water and be careful to not put any pressure on the siding. Do smaller sections if you run any risk of the detergent starting to dry before rinse phase. Before you start, make sure you identify any cracked areas as these can soak up water. If the paint is old and oxidizing then there will be uneven coloring when you are done. Communicate with the client before washing if they have old or oxidized siding.
What message you want to convey…confused over the cleaning and the wording You are not capable of articulating and communicating your thoughts…silly silly
@@Cydwithme the first part is treating the wood with chemical. Once it dwells for about 5min then I rinse it off with water. Wood restoration like this removes the top layer of material and kills organic growth.
For a garelick pole I just put the pole in the end of the squeegee or mop handle. The garelick pole is threaded so you can buy a threaded attachment that will convert the pole to a friction tip. amzn.to/4e66Ey0
That's a nice rig! You're in Washington state, right? Just curious why you went with an east coast builder in Virginia (All Clean Power Systems) when you have a builder in Oregon (Expert Power Wash). Both companies make nice rigs and more or less similar prices depending on the build.
@ExteriorCleaning4Real Gotcha, and no I don't have a build yet... but I will soon. I'm actually in Maryland so it would make more sense for me to do a build with 'All Clean' as they are close to me.
The brand doesn’t matter as much as the concentration. I buy bulk sodium hypochlorite at 12.5% and dilute it to what I need. For this job it was diluted to 1%
The squeegee and razor blade links are in the video description along with some links to starter kits. Here are some specific tools below: Pouch: amzn.to/3X3c9qq Belt: amzn.to/3MjoaTH BOAB: amzn.to/3MiPXUb
$2500 deposit (refundable) plus cost of water used. Every city is going to be different. For the city in this example it took a month to get the money refunded. Make sure you charge a deposit to your customer to cover this cost and know that it may take a while to get the money back.
thanks for the vid, but i do have a question as a beginner that dose not live in a country where they sell dawn dish soap. Is it alright to use just regular dish soap?
@@ExteriorCleaning4Real thanks i am in denmark and i think that the regular dish soap that we sell here will be fine if it just has to cut grease. im 16 and i am going to try and starting a window cleaning busnises and i really like your vid and i think it is very help full, you go over a cupel things that the other guys i have seen on yt havet. Thanks agian :)
@jonasjul682 that’s awesome! You’ll do great. You can also order super slip or glass gleam here: windowcleaner.com/collections/glass-cleaners/products/titan-glass-gleam-3-soap Keep me updated on your progress! Which specific parts of the video did I cover things that others have not? Out of curiosity
@@ExteriorCleaning4Real thank you i hope that i will do as great as you and i am on a pretty tight buget but ill buy the glass gleam when i have a bit more money. ill keep you updated and i think what you do better than the others is the stuff like you go over all the details shortly in one vid unlike the others where they go in to very much detail on one thing and dedicate an interie vid to that one thing. i allso just think that you are a bit more beginner frendly so that is also nice. (i was also stryggeling trying to find out how much soap to put in my cleaning solution and you made that vrey clear thank you again).
@@ExteriorCleaning4Real i use a moderate strength in a spray bottle and let it set for maybe 10 minutes and rinse and repeat until its gone. You can let it set for longer if need be
