Dude this was 8 years ago 8 DUDE 8 I feel like I was just fan boying over this conference yesterday. I watched this conference over and over just to see the fallout 4 sneak peak and I ended up playing the game for an all of 23 hours never to touch it again. It didn’t feel like fallout . Idk what it was but it didn’t feel like the fallout that I knew
Same I went to GameStop to buy another copy of fallout 3 for my 360 because it broke. The guy over the counter said “have you seen the trailer for 4?” My jaw dropped to the floor and I binged this exact conference until I finally got an Xbox one and a copy of 4.
Watching this eight years later I get goosebumps when the artworks and the main theme sets in @4:14. All "it just works" jokes aside they really showed what the game later delivered.
I wish we still had these sort of innovators creating new concepts. Felt like things were going a million miles a second back then, now almost every popular game is essentially just a clone of games that have existed for 20 years. Lots of them are great games of course, but they're just not new games.
When I see the concept art of Fallout 4 they look like they were made by an AI like the ones made today, but they were made by real people and they look fantastic and better than the ones made by an AI after almost 10 years
I was in basic training in Great Lakes when this was happening, and my girlfriend at the time sent me an envelope with a bunch of printed out screenshots of this presentation.
This video holds a special place in my heart, the excitement I felt watching it for the first time live. It’s nice to go back and re visit it, takes me back to the simple times. God damn
Even if the game didn't exactly live up to standards, I'll always remember me and my friends being in teamspeak collectively freaking out during this reveal.
Do you hear the absolute silence of that crowd? Even during the most climactic moments of these trailers they are soaking in every little detail in complete awe.
When I found out this game was coming out and the trailer was released, I texted my son while he was in school and we were both excited freaking out. My eyes even got watery cus I know how much my son enjoyed fallout New Vegas sooo much. What a moment it was!!
5:40 I really love this artwork. It really invokes the sense that this is Boston’s finest hours. Everyone had to band together now more than ever for a final battle against a great threat (before we know it was the Institute). Seeing Nate (Sole Survivor), Dogmeat, Preston/Minutemen, and Danse/Brotherhood of Steel fighting together while the sky fall in fire with air combat look so awe inspiring!
