The track I wrote for Reb, Flying High was in Guitar Techniques issue GT326, available 25th August 2021. This issue might be found on eBay. I'll look into uploading pieces I've done with various players I've written for over the years. Thanks for watching!
Hello Jason! Looking for a guitarist. Hi, I'm looking for a guitarist who can play one of my short electric guitar tracks, trying to make it as similar to this one as possible ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-8-AhYe3Q9ek.html
I never heard of Brett until now. I watched a video of Nelson back in the day and I was intrigued by the guitar he was playing and Wonder what it was. Ended up here and wow what a treat. Jeff Beck would be proud 👍💯😎
Thanks for watching. Brett is great for sure, check out all the other tracks we've done together. You might like to start with Slam Bam as that's proved very popular over the years!
Watched this again, with gratitude for all the music Allan Holdsworth made, and appreciation for the way you've articulated not only these key aspects of his playing but also the admiration we all have for his monster talent. Combine that talent with Allan's humility? Out of this world.
My favorite guitarist alongside Holdsworth, Mclaughlin, Henderson, Metheney, Mancuso and many more . What an injustice that Rocoo doesnt get the global recognition he deserves ! C’mon spotify . Put his 1998 album LYNDON on the playlist .
I don’t think there are many Guitarists who are openly sharing their experiences, methods and giving 45min tutorials quite as much as this awesome guy. . Paul Gilbert has been my top favorite Rock Guitarist since first heard Lean Into It, way back in 1992. I absolutely love this Guy for all his endless inspiration. Rock And Roll 💜💜
20:15 Dude I seriously quested all over the internet trying to figure out how to effectively mute without a wrap for 8-finger tapping. Even articles and exercises specifically about this style of tapping would just not mention muting. But FINALLY Joel explains it. I basically had come to a similar idea after studying lots of footage (and Jeff Watson also discussed this in his 8-finger lesson), but it was great to hear Joel explain his technique with greater specificity and give me some much-needed confirmation. Thanks a lot for this video, guys!
Thanks for your comments, Joel is a fantastic musician and an outstanding tapper. We've a new piece dropping here and in Guitar Techniques later this year!
These Australians have there own unique sound, different from the American guitarists or from Europe. Surroundings, weather, culture it can all influence your music. This tune makes me feel if I am on a beaitiful beach with some palm trees in Australia.
Not sure if you're referring to the scale length or the size of the frets, but Kiesel offers jumbo and medium jumbo frets. The scale of the guitar that Alex is playing here is 25.5"
How unfortunate that they only had green at the store! JUST KIDDING, of course. I just realized that every time I hear a great guitar player I never heard of before, like this gentleman here, I always, unconsciously and without prejudice, try to find another one I know I could compare the licks, playing or sound to, and I am very uncomfortable with that. Whether it's an attempt to get familiar faster or to have something to say without having to do too much 'thinking', I do believe comparisons are rarely useful and sometimes, they can even be hurtful. Therefore, I will get rid of that annoying habit, as time and awareness allow. Okay, now, about the man, what could I say... reminds me of... NO, NOT THIS AGAIN, AHHHH... He, he, he.
I love how he just nonchalantly mentions how he arranged this song, etc. Like it’s just the easiest thing in the world to do. I’m just amazed at this type of vision and talent. A true artist by any definition.
No, that's Brett's precise pinch harmonic technique - no octave devices were used when he performed this. There's a reason (actually, many more than just one!) he's a renowned fusion virtuoso of the highest order.
I wish guitar magazines were still a thing worth buying. I used to love your contributions and still try to practice some to this day! The Full Sky is an amazing track of yours btw been listening to it a lot. Anyway, many thanks to you!
I would disagree there but then I am the editor of Guitar Techniques, the most diverse tuitional magazine in the world which takes a huge amount of time and creativity of everyone involved to create each month. But anyway, thanks for your nice comments and glad you like The Full Sky. Most of all, thanks for watching!
@@jasonsidwell woops lol excuse me whilst I spit out this giant foot I appear to have been chewing on… I mean personally, I don’t play enough anymore for it to be a regular purchase like in my youth! But if I did, I know exactly which one to go for 😁😉
Oh dear, and all my life, I called all these different techniques 'groovy', that's it, just 'groovy', all of them. Like: Hey Jason, what you're doing? Groovy! And what you did just before that? Groovy man! Fortunately, it's the intention that matters and mine were spotless, a little chink in the extent of one's plankish vocabulary is easily forgiven I'm sure! Cheers.
Fab! Mr Sidwell himself published an astonishingly brilliant thing years ago in Gtr Tech Mag about the l8 gr8 David Williams, and, along with other stuff forms part of my 'hits'n'scratches' practice routine.. Material such as this is invaluable to folks who really want to learn. Thank you so much Sir for all your brilliant work! 🎶🌟👍
Lovely comment, thanks for watching Williamerobinson7435. I'm back at IGF this year teaching the Groove! course - the video promo is coming to my YT channel very soon.
