With the amazing success of The Kill Pete Strategy on RU-vid, I wanted to create a channel that was just for me. A place where I can experiment, have fun and try new things. I hope you enjoy it!

Love the content Pete! Actually never played any card game but you actually make it seem quite fun! Could you maybe make it so we also have game sound when watching via RU-vid? It adds more than I tought, don't know why haha! I usually can't catch you live on twitch. :(
My sealed event on Saturday at the store went well, I got a really good pool, but I still did poorly, mostly flooding, I won one of my rounds. I did have fun though. Thank you pete for another excellent piece of magic content. I appreciate you making the effort. 8:55 Perhaps you should in your land base run 4 Black Sources, and run maybe 2 black cards here your Jund boy, and that BG removal piece seemed strong. This might just be a splash for black kind of deck, not a run it as a main. 13:40 if you mean the twitch-only music, it's Eeriely quiet just out here in the RU-vid Land. Flesh burrow has deathtouch, not sure why you holding it back if you can just push through, they block they trade 17:01, last two turns). So you could have dealt with the demon had you know by saving the bite spell combo with death touch, because dealing 2 deathtouch damage kills it, was just thinking about what if you saved your kill spell for something funny. 22:46 what he said. 24:32 i'm some one who tends to mulligan harder, your opening hand had one playable creature with only 2 lands I would have mulled harder, I know if you find one mana you are golden, but I just don't like risking it, I'm not what you would call a RISK TAKER. 26:29 sideboard it out here after this game then. 27:06 there have already been leaks, he is in fact Red-Green if I recall correctly. 33:09 welcome back, did you pull that one card out of your deck? 36:35 the treasure is double red access now, but okay. Wait until he has something you can force kill with the force block, I like it. 44:38 if you were just going to lose it, shouldn't you have paid to flip it over, so you would get the surveil 1, it would have still been big enough to kill it. I'm not sure. I'm assuming he plays a creature out mainphase 2, otherwise you would have no blocks, attacked on your turn to kill him. 48:20 the back and forth is very enjoyable, you are enjoying this better than the beatdowns of game one and two. 49:21 IF GLASSWORKS COULD ONLY DAMAGE FACE... this would have been yours, OH MAN PETE!!!
Your video made me forget why i uninstalled arena, lol... an hour and a half of miserable play reminded me... I'll stick to paper... when i can find it again...
Some people here want to deduce bad play just from the fact that Pete lost. That's not how the game works. There's still a lot of luck involved. I'd like to see more losses on this channel. It would help me and others get a better perspective on the real game
Spoilers in my comment below (Including the winner!!!) Very much thanks for the broadcast Pete and Harlow! Was very happy to be a part of my first FFA World Champ finals. Congratulations to Dignia in becoming the new Risk World Champion! Below is my link of my commentary of the game, so you hopefully can see what I was thinking at certain pivotal moments. (Most notably game 1) The FINALS of the RISK FFA WORLD CHAMPIONSHIP! ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-ZV67gkJqHv4.html
Cheers Frog. I wouldn't be too hard on yourself if I was you. The nature of this accomplishment invovles a lot of luck. The more you play the more you have to make your peace with that I think. Finalist is a massive acheivement.
I do like your line of thinking here for breaking black not orange. Orange might've been less upset about it. Sacrifice that one bonus to trade cards. But strategically, you're starting a war between orange and white. I think if black could see that's what you're doing they'd be happy to trade in their own bonus. I mean, strategically you breaking their bonus is great for them, you only hold one bonus (though it's a nice sized one) white and orange are dumping troops into each other letting black take bonuses to the west, and ultimately the fact that they have expansion options and you don't they're in an advantageous position for first. And you know that one of your best skills is knowing when to pounce. That you'll identify from context clues when you'll have the chance to chain the orange kill into the white kill to put you in that advantageous position. But the risk didn't pay off, black just couldn't pick up what you were doing based on context clues. I think not just empathy, but retaliating in kind, would benefit their gameplay greatly, you break my bonus, I break one part of your bonus, and we go from there. A really interesting game to watch, even if sad since as a viewer I'm always rooting for the peteman.
Why is it with Grandmaster play you either see everyone with a bonus and it stalemates for a hundred turns OR you see noone with a bonus at all, but you hardly see the intermediate state of people organizing for very long?
Green screen artifact, my guess would be glare from the sun (if I recall correctly, Pete's desk is next to a window, and since this was an 8 AM game I suppose we can surmise that it faces east-ish).
I'm curious about yours and others comments about the fact that black not giving you any cap cards was an aggressive or unfavorable play. I don't understand why he would ever want to open your cap on a line that only faces into him regardless of whether or not he intended to deescalate at that point.
38:23 I love the switchover IMMEDIATELY, I expected you to leave like 9 in Sevastapol but Sevastapol sucks so much that you just got right on outta there with ALL your troops first chance you got!
i hate that some player not knowing what we mean from atack some times i see somone take 30 trops so i break just 1 bonus to stabilize the game so you can take bouns but not being over power but this player break all my bonus so usually the game end for me or for him 😂😂😂🫡
I'm surprised you say you're not good enough at math for physics. With your memory, philosophy, and logic, you're plenty good at math. All arithmetic is done by computers now. I took physics classes and never needed to do arithmetic in my head
Also, I did note when you decided on an adversary to card trade, that your thinking of “forcing Orange to go after white” was a miscalculation- you didn’t realize how weak white WAS at that point, but you chose to break your neighbor black 8 troop…and you couldn’t defend against the retaliation effectively. Your capital provided most of your defense at the bottom going into orient. Ultimately a bad call, you were caught and that’s why the 3rd place finish.
Great video as usual. In your live streams, please have a discussion about converting consistent 2nd place finishes into wins. I’m struggling with this on the regular now (aka TaranWanderer1974)
I wonder if when Pete first broke black he had left a small stack in Germany if that would have worked out differently. I think that is the only real spot things may have changed, because no one had Germany so maybe trading there could have diffused the tension. Then again it may have just been wasted troops. What I really dont get is the people criticizing Pete for the way he played the rest and his analysis of blacks play. One thing everyone seems to be forgetting is the "Good Luck" that they dropped when Pete broke. That is the classic way of saying "this means war", and was likely the moment black decided to fight to the bitter end. Some people just have a small threshold for creating a mortal enemy, and that break was blacks. All of us have experienced that player that gets broken once and just goes completely ape shit, so it should not be too hard to grasp. A better player would have realized they dont want war on two fronts, and toned it down by taking at least one turn to trade single spots in Russia. Given the hyper aggressive retaliatory break, the "Good Luck" on the first break, the attempted card block WAY too early in the game, and not giving a cap card I think Pete analyzed this player perfectly: A good player who needs to work on empathy and prediction to improve.
@@FreePete Agreed it was a sliver of a chance at best. I am not sure what I would have done, but when I get hit with a "good luck" I usually assume its hopeless, so while I ponder if it would have gone differently I probably would have done the same as you.
The number of players understanding such a move and responding friendly to it is low, but I think it was very well worth trying. Leaving a 4 isn't very costly.
your capacity of analyzing the game and what’s happening in the fog is one of the best feature of this channel. you gotta love it when actually happens what you predicted!
One of the best things about the Pete videos is i can watch them on my phone while i play pokemon roms and RU-vid doesn't tell me they don't work in the miniplayer.
