Your long green chair would look better in the other chair spot angled towards the book shelf, making better access to the books and it would make a cozy effect. The only thing you need now is a little electric fireplace between the two chairs which would still work as a table for a lamp
Do any of your family have Dutch heritage? The decor added into the bookcase, along with your whole vibe screams like you live in Holland! lol I absolutely love it! I vote keep the chairs how you ended up having it, I like the different chairs!
Glad to see your post. Hopefully that means you all got through the store safely. I have put so many of those Billy bookcases together that I could do it in my sleep."Can I help?" Yup" Yeah!" Sofa...we've done the wingback thing a few times. They are uncomfortable. I like lying on the couch when reading--if there's nobody else sitting on it. Oh, I wrote that before the kids video. Probably only two chairs will fit that space. I like your organization, but I use Dewey for non-fiction and alph for fiction. Thanks. Have a blessed, beautiful week.
So far, I like the arrangement.❤❤ Another sofa might take up too much space. The chairs idea is fine, then maybe some bean bags you can stack away in a corner at the end of the day.
Since you need a couch, a nice, velvety deep blue would be a great complement to your current couch AND give you some of that library moodiness you're looking for. A small floor lamp beside the smaller shelf would be a great lighting addition once you're ready for your couch. Yes, two chairs and an end table would LOOK best, but as you said, it wouldn't FUNCTION best.
I have had my white Billy’s for years. I just recently covered the shelf parts (just the shelves that the books go on, not the sides/back board) in faux wood contact paper. It really was such a good idea and it made my room darker/cozier/moodier. It was a cheap and quick project! Would recommend. Anywho- the library looks AMAZING. As always, your style is immaculate.
Wow funny, because I thought instantly his smile is 100% Elijah. I can completely relate to your feelings Megan. That is how I feel every time whn my husband shaves his beard. I try to hide it as well but I feel disconnected and like living with a stranger. Luckily he grows it back quite quickly so the feeling dissipates. But I recognized that I even get very irritated and angry with him when his beard is shaved off and we are back to our harmony as a couple when the beard is regrowing :-)
I thought you guys are in Carolina, I was worried about the hurricane!!! Where are you now? Hope all is well as I know so.e videos are made in advance.
Absolutely Love, Love, Love this room. If you have never read this book "Journey to Topaz", please get it. This was one of my childhood favorites. After the Pearl Harbor attack eleven-year-old Yuki, a Japanese-American girl and her family are forced to go to an aliens camp in Utah. I love how much your kids read. My younger son who is special needs learned to read last year at age 12 and it has been so exciting! I come from a family of book worms and love the happiness and knowledge a good book can bring.
Flip couch under window green chair with comfy cushions close to shelf and new chair on wall close to doorway. Lots of open walllspace for pics with couch moved and skinny table against wall. Floor pillows for kids that fit stacked in bottom cubbies of shelf only out when needed.
I thought the pink chair with foot stool that was in the room for a short time looked pretty good. The bonus is if the room has adults in it and kids come in the foot stool can double as an extra seat that's perfect for a little person or someone with good knees. The chaise looks perfect in that spot. Also the perfect chair for a cuddle with a kid too
